SEASON 4 EPISODE 9:
SWAN SONG
"Give her some room." Blaine said, as Jake and Sam brought Marley into the choir room in a rush.
"She needs space! Breathe, girl, breathe!" Unique said, worried.
"Does anyone have anything she can eat?" Haley asked.
"I have some leftover Halloween candy in my locker." Tina said.
"I may have a juice box."
"I'll go get Marley's mom." Joe said, leaving the room.
"This is bad. Never in the history of show choir competitions has anyone ever fainted." Artie said.
"We got the juice. We got the juice." As Blaine tossed the juice to Haley who offered it to Marley.
"No, I'm okay." Marley shook her head, weakly.
"Drink the damn juice!" Kitty yelled.
"Marley? Marley, are you okay? What happened?" Finn asked, entering the choir room.
"She hasn't been eating." Jake said. "She's been skipping lunch."
"Is that because you've been telling her to?" Santana asked Kitty, accusingly. "You trying to turn her into a damn rexy?"
"What? No. Why would I... Why would I want that?" Kitty asked.
"Cause you're a crazy, evil bitch." Satnana scoffed.
"And you bullied me enough, to get me back into an eating disorder." Haley said aloud, as everyone looked at her. "A few weeks ago. And no bitch, McCurly Fries, I'm not impressed, and I need a word with you regarding Cheerios after this."
"Hey, Marley, you alright?" Mr. Schue asked.
"The nurse is on the way, Mr. Schue." Joe assured him.
"Santana, Puck, you stay here with Marley. The rest of you guys, get back up there. Leaving the stage mid-competition, for any reason, is risking immediate disqualification."
What?!" Finn asked. "That-that's a rule?"
"Yeah, it's a rule." Coach Sylvester clarified, waving a book in the air. "One of the bylaws, actually. As all of you all were spiraling into a self-created K-hole of crazy, the judges, by unanimous vote, have declared the Warblers victorious. Hey, congratulations, Finn Hudson. For the first time in it's charmed, yet pitiful existence, the new Directions have lost Sectionals. But here's the good news: Christmas came early for one Sue Sylvester."
Haley was very anxious, overwhelmed, and stressed trying to help out with Marley, she was really like a mom to the group sometimes. The whole sectionals thing was bothering her too. She found it too much at the moment, and began walking out of the room, tears threatening to fall. Sam ran after her, as he turned her around.
"Hayley, what's the matter?" He asked, bringing her into a hug.
"I-I just feel, like part of this is my fault, you know? I should've stopped Marley from taking those laxatives from Kitty a few weeks ago. I didn't though. And now she's gonna blame herself for making us unintentionally lose Sectionals." Haley explained, as she hid her face in Sam's chest, crying.

"It's not your fault Hay. You did nothing wrong..." Sam whispered, leaning his forehead against hers.
"Yeah, but I feel like it is... you know?" She cried, quietly.
"It isn't though." Sam assured her, as he wiped her tears.
"But it is, Sam. I feel like I did something, even though I didn't. I don't know, I manage to mess things up sometimes. Here's another mess up." Haley laughed painfully. As she tried to regain her normal breathing pace.
"Haley stop that... and just breathe okay. Deep breaths. That's it." He said as they moved to sit down on the floor in the hallway. He let her rest her head against his chest, wrapping his arms around her, as she continued to cry in his arms.
----
"McCurly Fries, a word?" Haley called as Kitty sighed, before walking up to her in the hallway.
"I know what you did. You introduced Marley to laxatives back at that sleepover. You then forced her to take them, giving her an expectation that they would help. You little bitch." Haley said.
"I don't know.. I didn't do it." Kitty shrugged. Haley could see past the lies.
"I have proof." Haley stated. "So does Santana. And even though I'm not captain on the Cheerios till the New Year, I talked with Coach Sylvester and Brittany, and you are moving to the bottom of the pyramid for the rest of the term. You are also in charge of laundry and cleaning for the next year." Haley finished.
"What? That's not fair!"
"Actually it is, Wilde. You receive consequences for your wrongful actions. You can't stop with the tasks or move back up the pyramid unless I, Haley Aldrin say so."
"You can't do that. You aren't in a position on the team."
"Oh yeah, that's what you think. Watch me." Haley scoffed before turning and walking down the hallway, as the groups moved to the slides.
----
"So, that's it? No more Glee?" Blaine asked.
"Until next September" A sad Artie Abrams said.
"Well...one of our daughters bailed." Haley tried to make a light joke as she leaned against Sam's chest.
"Can I just say what everyone is thinking? This is Marley's fault. New Rachel, my butt. I knew Rachel Berry. I was friends with Rachel Berry, and you, Marley, are no Rachel Berry." Tina stated, annoyed.
"Mm-hmm." Artie said in agreement. "Preach."
"Guys, have some common sense knowledge and empathy for Marley, please." Haley said, fed up with the blaming and hate talk.
"Guys, guys, enough. It's not like it's over. The holiday concert is later this week, and we are going to be preparing for it all week long. If this is our swan song, let's make it the best it can be." Finn said.
"You really expect us to go up in front of the whole school adn parade our loserdom for all to see?" Kitty spoke up.

"Yeah, Kitty does have a point. We agreed to do the show when we thought it would be on the heels of another Sectionals victory. Now, it just feels like a pity party." Artie explained.
"I love to sing and dance as much as anybody, but without a competition to prep for, it's hard to get motivated." Sighed Blaine.
"I understand that we need a little shift in perspective, but let's just enjoy this week, and look forward to our big comeback next year." Finn said, trying to lighten the mood. Haley looked at Sam, and down at her hands, sighing.
"What about those of us who won't have a next year?" Sam asked.
----
"Hey, I got your text...You wanted to see me?" Haley asked. Sam leaned against the teacher's desk smiling at her, as he pulled her into his arms.
"I'm super bummed about Glee Club ending, but I'm most sad that I won't have any excuses to sing love songs with you, '' he said looking down at her.
"Sam.. We're still going to continue to sing, despite Glee ending. There's no way we can stay apart for more than 15 minutes. We're inseparable. We also can't restrain from breaking into song." Haley pointed out, play with his hands.
"Well, do you think you could sing with me?" Sam asked, handing her sheet music. He kept his eyes on her as she talked.
"Is that why the band's here?"
"You figured it all out. So, will you do me the honor of singing a ballad with me?" Sam asked.
"I love this song." Haley said, as she smiled.
{SOMETHIN' STUPID-SUNG BY HALEY ALDRIN & SAM EVANS}
After dancing through the room together, Haley stood on her tiptoes and wrapped her arms around Sam's neck, as he wrapped his around her waist, pulling her closer. As they pressed their foreheads together, they ignored the band leaving. Too in the moment. He leaned down and gave her a quick kiss. She sighed before pulling away.
"Well, what do you say, we go to my house? We can have a date night, and you can sleepover?" She asked as he smirked.
"I'd love that." He said, grabbing her hand as they walked out of the classroom together.
----
"I can't believe it's been, like, what, two days, that you've all gone in completely separate, and totally insane, directions." A furious Finn Hudson ranted.
"We lost Sectionals. Our season is over. You can't be upset that we've moved on. It's the healthy thing to do." Tina pointed out.
"Is it really? Is it the healthy thing to do to take orders from Sue Sylvester for the rest of the school year? And Artie, man you basically dragged me out of the tire shop, telling me that this club was part of my destiny somehow. What did you even join? Your costume is ridiculous. It looks like a peacock died on your head."
"It's called a plume." Artie said defensively.
"Whatever! Okay, look, I-I'm not going to waste all six minutes I was able to book the auditorium for yelling at you guys." Finn exasperated.
"Wait only six minutes?" Haley asked.
"Yeah. Emperor Sylvester swooped in and carved the reservation hours sinot tenths. So the only other time I was able to get was 9:54, Friday night, and I'll be here ready to rehearse, and I hope you will, too. 'Cause if you don't, I think you're going to regret missing that opportunity for the rest of your lives." Finn said.
"I'll definitely be here." Marley said.
"Yeah, well, we'd all be here if you hadn't face-planted at Sectionals." Tina scoffed.
"Tina, enough." Finn warned, as Tina left the stage.
Haley sighed, before she and Sam left the stage, as Finn watched them walk off sadly, leaving him and Marley.
----
Haley and Sam were wrapped up in their heated moment in her bedroom. Haley sighed, as she heard Sam's phone buzz, but he was clearly ignoring it as he was kissing down her neck, her hands tangled in his hair.
"Sam..." Haley whispered, before she pushed him off her, after she heard her phone buzz to turn the sound off. She went to return his gesture, by kissing him back.
As he was about to take his shirt off, his phone buzzed again, causing Haley to groan, and get up, to grab it and open the email up.
She went back to the bed as he brought her onto his lap, and they read Finn's email.
"Dear Glee Club. I realize most of you think it's stupid to still call us that. I mean, our season's over, so what are we now, really? We lost Sectionals, so what do we have left? Nothing. We've got nothing. I got a phone call from Rachel last night. She just won the Winter Showcase at NYADA, which is, like, this huge deal. Lie, not once in history has it ever gone to a Freshman. And she reminded me why I joined Glee Club in the first place. It's about music. Every one of us loves music. And no one can take that way from us. I'm not giving up on you. Marley found a place where we can rehearse, and I want us to meet there today after school at 5:00. I hope to see you all there. Finn."
Haley locked Sam's phone as she sat on his lap looking at him, while his arms were wrapped around her.
"Should we go?" She asked.
"Wait, what about our makeout and stuff?" Sam asked, as he pouted, while she shook her head.
"We'll do it after. I promise baby." Haley smirked as she pressed a quick kiss to his lips, which turned a little heated...however after that, they ran to meet the others.
