"NO!" A sleeping Cansas shouted as she grabbed her pillow. I looked over to see she was having a nightmare. "Please....come back...leave." She said as tears fell down her shut eyes. My breath caught in my chest. I knew what she was talking about. I pulled Cansas into my chest as she let out a shout.
"Cansas! Cansas, it's just a dream." I said as she shouted again, this time she opened her eyes tears falling down her cheeks faster now. I placed her head under my chin and pet her hair slowly as she clung to my shirt slowly falling back into a restless sleep.

The next morning I woke up with the feeling of someone beside me. I opened my eyes to find Loki there with his arms around me. Sitting up I made Loki open his eyes. I got up and out of bed going over to the bathroom but not before I grabbed my blue bag. I walked into the bathroom and slammed the door behind myself leaving the trickster in the room by himself.
I changed into jeans and a red shirt, then I walked back out of the bathroom. Loki had been waiting at the door so when I opened the door he was hit by it.
"Ow." He said sarcastically. I threw my blue bag to the ground and turned to face him fast.
"You broke one of my rules," I said angrily.
"What? You mean rule number four? If you ask me it was my least favorite rule." He said making me narrow my eyes at him. "You had a nightmare. I was trying to calm you down. Someone decided not to let go."
"You should have just pushed me off," I said turning away from him and walking over to the table. I picked up my black wallet and put it in my back pocket. "And next time I have a nightmare, just kick me or something. I should wake up." I said looking at him. "Now can we go to breakfast?"

The trickster nodded and I opened the door to the motel. Walking out followed by Loki we crossed the not very busy street and over to the small town that was by the motel.
"So what are we eating?" Loki asked as we walked down the sidewalk. We stopped as three children ran past us into an ice cream shop. "How do you feel about ice cream?" I asked walking into the shop. Loki followed after me.
The ice cream shop wasn't very busy. There was a middle-aged couple in the corner eating ice cream and the three kids that had run in were at the cash register fighting. "Come on James! Stop being a poopy head." The small brown haired girl said.
"I'm not the poopy head Violet! You are!" James said to Violet. The girl narrowed her eyes and turned away from him, blue dress moving slightly.
"Come on guys. Can we not fight and just get our ice cream?" The other boy said.
"Only if Violet stops being a dodo head." The young girl turns back around, mouth wide.
"Says the one with dog breath." I looked back to Loki who wasn't paying much attention to the kids and was reading the ice flavors.
"I brushed my teeth this morning dog po-" I turned back and stepped into the fight.
"Hey, hey. No one here is dog poo." I said kneeling down a bit to get on their level. "The only person here that is remotely close to being dog poop is him," I said pointing back to Loki who put a hand over his heart in mock hurt.
"Ouch." He said making the three kids laugh.
"Why don't you three get your ice cream and run along." The kids nodded and turned back to the man at the register who gave them three bowls of ice cream. They all gave the man crumpled up cash and ran off. I got up off my knees and walked over to the man with Loki behind me.
"Those kids are always in here fightin'. You two new in town?"

"We're just passing through," I said making the man nod.
"Well, what can I get for you?" I looked at the menu. "Uh...can I get mint chocolate chip in a bowl please." The man nodded and looked at Loki. "Chocolate in a cone."
The man got our ice cream and handed it to us. "That'll be $5.78." I nodded and went to grab my wallet but was stopped.
"I'll get it,"
"With what money?" I asked as Loki went into his jacket pocket and took out a brown wallet. He gave the man the right amount of money and we left the shop.
"Where did you get that money?" Loki looked down at the brown wallet and I watched as it disappeared in his hand.
"I made it." He said licking his ice cream. I frowned. "You can't do that. That's bad." I said taking a spoon full of ice cream and shoving it in my mouth.
"Hello? Have you met me?" He asked making me roll my eyes.
"So what's on the agenda for today?" I shrugged. "Well. Normally. This is about the time I go back to the motel, put a movie on, don't watch it while I sketch, eat candy and get fat and maybe find a case to work."
"Sounds good to me," Once we made it to the gas station nearby I had finished my ice cream and threw the bowl out. I walked in and grabbed a six pack of beer, gummy worms, lollipops, and sweet tarts.
I paid and we made our way across the street and over to the motel. I took out the key and unlocked the door. Using my foot I held the door open. "Go. Quick." I said to Loki who was just now finishing his ice cream cone.
He walked in and flopped himself on the bed. I rolled my eyes and walked into the room, the door closing behind me. I dropped the candy on the bed which Loki took hold of and then I put the beer in the mini fridge.
I grabbed one for myself and another for Loki. I shut the fridge with my foot and hand the beer to Loki as I walked over to the bed. "Here," He took it and with a snap of his fingers the top popped off.
I put the beer on the nightstand and grabbed my sketch pad and pencils. Once I got that I climb over Loki's feet and over to the other side of the bed. I got comfy and then looked over at Loki holding my hand out.
"Could you hand me my beer?" The trickster reached over and got the beer and then handed it to me. I uncapped it and took a sip before placing it on my nightstand and grabbing the remote.
I turned the tv on and flipped through the channels before coming to a movie that had just started. I threw the remote at the foot of the bed. I looked over at Loki who had all the candy to himself.
"Don't hog the candy dude," I said grabbing the gummy worms from him. I tore the bag opened and grabbed one placing it in my mouth. Opening my sketchbook I flipped through the pages until I came to an empty page. I took my pencil and started to sketch.
"Come on," I muttered to myself as I tried to draw the face. "Whats wrong?" Loki asked. I looked over at him. "Uh...nothing really. It's just I can never get his face right." I said looking back down at the page. It was a man with six wings. An angel.
"Maybe make his hair a little longer...and his nose a little rounder," I looked over to see he was studying my drawing. It looked like there was...pain in his eyes? I did what he said and smiled a bit. "Thanks," I said looking at Loki with a smile. Loki smiled back.
I looked at the clock on the bedside table to see it was around two. "Oh dear. You hungry?" I asked.
"Always."

Mordheim: Servants of The Damned (A Warhammer Fantasy Fiction)
“The Great Library,” Stated the stranger with a pause. “You know of it?”“Of course I do. In the Merchant’s Quarter?”“Yes, in the Merchant’s Quarter. I have gathered that there is an… artefact of importance within its walls.” Slowly, the figure produced a rusted key from the furls of his robes and held it in a black-gloved hand. “This opens the door to its chambers. It is the grimoire of Gunnar von Krugenheim, and I believe that it would serve better in the world than locked away in a dusty room.” Behind the cursed walls of Mordheim, warbands and gangs of all stripes are embattled in constant wars for resources and power. The cursed city attracts throngs in the thousands, searching for treasures, artefacts, power, and sometimes all three. The Cult of the Hidden Brethren is no exception, and when an opportunity to extend their reach is discovered, the cultists are eager to take the opportunity. However, not all is set in stone, and soon the cultists discover that the lure of power alone may not be enough to give them the drive required to see their quest done... --- Mordheim: Servants of the Damned is a fanfiction set in the world of Warhammer Fantasy, which is not owned by me but by the company Games Workshop. I of course, lay claim to nothing in this story but the characters I have created, and the core events of the story itself. This is my first true foray into fantasy writing, let alone Warhammer Fantasy, therefore any feedback is welcome. (It should be noted as well, the cover art is merely an artwork I found online and is not mine, therefore I do not lay claim to that either.)
