《Looed and Lost You 》_Chapter Nine: Chocolate cake for an Antichrist_

We stayed quiet for a while before I broke into laughter. "That's some good stuff right there. It's been fun," I said standing up. "But when you start saying I'm the spawn of the devil," I laughed again. Balthazar stood up.
"No. Your bible has it all wrong. Antichrists aren't the child of Lucifer. It means your mother was possessed by a demon when she had you."
I shook my head. "No. My mother has never been possessed by a demon. She took all the right steps so she wouldn't." Balthazar sighed.
"When you see demons don't you see the rotting face underneath their human skin?" I crossed my arms.
"So what?...other hunters I've known said they could see them." Balthazar sighed again getting annoyed with me.
"No, they can't. You're lying. And you know deep down that something is different about you. I mean, your wrist healed in a few seconds after you broke it." He said gesturing to my hand. I looked at it slightly before I looked back to him.
"What do you want from me? Why do you care what I am or not?" I asked popping my hip to the side.
"Quite frankly I don't care. I'm going against my flock. Against the whole of Heaven! But I am loyal to our friend. And I promised him I would watch out for you until he got back." I looked to the side and clenched my fists. Balthazar let out a tired sigh before speaking again.
"I have to go. You have the house to yourself. There's food in the kitchen and the tv's right there. And please don't try to leave. You won't like what will happen if you try. When I get back I can get your stuff." And with the sound of flapping wings, Balthazar was gone.

I growled in frustration as I uncrossed my arms. Who the hell does this guy think he is? I go to pull my phone out of my pocket but I don't find it. I pat all my pockets and still don't find it. "I must have dropped it," I growled looking around.
The house was big. There were two hallways and a fancy staircase that lead up to the second floor. I decided to look for the kitchen. Maybe grab a beer before trying to get out of this house.
I walked around before coming to the large kitchen. I went straight to the fridge and opened it to find all kinds of foods and drinks. I grabbed the first beer I saw and went to close the fridge door when something caught my eye.
"Oh boy," I said seeing a chocolate cake that sat in the back. I looked back at the entrance. Balthazar wouldn't be back for a while right? Placing my beer down on the table behind me I then turned back to the fridge.
I moved somethings out of the way before grabbing the cake and shutting the door. I placed it on the table and smiled. Opening my beer I opened cabinet after cabinet before I came to one full of utensils.
Taking a sip of my drink I got a fork and walked back over to the table. I opened the plastic covering and got a great wif of its chocolate smell. Scooping a bit of the cake onto my fork I shoved it into my mouth.
"Mmmm." I mused as I ate the cake. When the cake was about half done I decided I should stop.
"You were very good my friend. If I find a way out of here I'll take you with me." I said putting the plastic covering back on the half-eaten cake. I took the last sip of my beer and walked out of the kitchen. When I made it back to the living room I looked around for a door or a window.

Seeing none I huffed and walked up the stairs. The hallway was dark but at the end was a window that let in the moonlight. I walked towards the window and tried opening it but failed. I took my gun out and backed up a bit. I pointed my gun at the window and shot. The bullets seemed to go right through the window, not breaking it at all.
"What the hell!" I shouted putting my gun away. I walked closer to the window and kicked it with all my force only for it to push me back. This sent me flying back and I hit the floor hard knocking the wind out of me. I coughed and rolled on my side.
"Son of a bitch." I cursed breathlessly as I sat up. Standing up I stared daggers at the window. I looked down the hall and placed my hands on my hips.
"There has to be a way out of here," I said tapping my foot. Walking back down the stairs I walked into the living room and looked around yet again. I decided to go down one of the hallways.
I saw a glass door when I got to the end of the hall. "Thank you," I said going to opened the door. When I did I didn't get very far out before a heavy net was thrown over top of me. I fell and growled loudly.
"SON OF A BITCH!"
I spent hours trying to get out of the net but to my disappointment, I failed. Giving up I fell back with a loud huff. By this time the sun had started to rise and I was excused. I hadn't gotten any sleep since yesterday morning.
"What the hell is taking that angel so long to get back," I growled as I picked at a loose thread on my brown leather jacket.
An hour went by and I had started taking apart and putting back together my gun. Another hour passed and I had taken out my flashlight and was clicked it on and off. When another hour past I had to take my leather jacket off due to the heat. I rolled my red flannel sleeves up a bit and rested my head in my hands.
Just as I was about to drift off to sleep I was startled awake by someone laughing loudly. I looked up and saw none other than the god of mischief himself.
"Get me out of this Loki!"

Alive?
In the ruins of a once glorious city, a mage awakens. As the sole survivor(?) of the cataclysm that destroyed his entire species, he’s forced to adapt. While learning the intricacies of his new body, he must first carve out a place for himself in a familiar yet foreign world before he can set out to reclaim his heritage. I cannot stress this enough: the character is not human, do not expect him to react like one. I know the hand on the cover only has five finger, but I doubt I am going to find a royalty free radiography with two perfectly functional thumbs placed in a sensible way anytime soon. The rewrite is finished. Beta readers are welcomed and I am still wondering whether I should put the sci-fi tag or not.
