《Looed and Lost You 》_Chapter Eighteen: The gray forest_

I was standing in the middle of a gray forest. I could hear howls and hisses in the distances. "Where the hell..." I turned around in a circle.
"H-hello?" I called out. No one answered. A twig snapped behind me and I froze. Slowly I turned around but nothing was there. I let out a sigh a relief which I let out too soon. As soon as I relaxed about the twig the huge Gorgon sprain out from the forest.
She opened her mouth wide and went to bite me but before she could a man appeared and placed a hand on my shoulder. And then I was gone.
Taking a deep breath in I opened my eyes and was met by a pair of beautiful butterscotch colored eyes.
"Dear mother of God!" I shouted clinging onto his jacket.
"Cansas! Oh, thank you for not being dead!" Loki said bringing me into a hug. I wrapped my arms around him tightly.
"What happened Loki? I remember passing out...but I woke up in a forest! There was a man...The Gorgon...The Gorgon was there." I said pulling away from Loki and I looked over to see the gorgon laying dead on the ground. I looked back at Loki to see he had tears in his beautiful eyes. Tears came to mine as well.
"W-was I...was I dead Loki?" I asked still clinging tightly to his jacket. He seemed to shake with sadness and buried his head in my neck. I buried mine in his as I started to cry. "O-oh m-my g-god." I cried.
"It's alright now. You're okay." Loki said running a hand through my hair. "Everythings going to be okay."
When I finally calmed down I looked up at Loki. "How did I come back?" I asked as he wiped the remaining tears from my eyes. "I-I don't know...maybe you used your powers last minute..." He said kissing my forehead.
"God. Don't do that to me again Cansas." He said looking back at me. I smiled weakly. I wiped away tears that fell from his eyes.

"Did you take my advice? Are you sad?" I asked with a chuckle. Loki chuckled weakly and ran a hand over my cheek. "You're so beautiful." He said rubbing circles on my cheek. I pulled him into a kiss and we stayed like that for what felt like hours.
"Cansas! Loki!" We both pulled away and looked over. Scout had called for us. "W-we should get back," I said making Loki nod. He stood up and then picked me up in his arms.
"You know I can walk right?"
"I know." He walked all the way back to the cave and Scout ran over to us. "Oh my god! What happened! Is all of this your blood?" She asked taking me out of Loki's arms holding me tight in hers. We fell to the ground and I shook my head as I hugged her back.
"No...no I'm fine."
I pulled away from her. "I'm fine. Really." I said with a smile. She smiled back and helped me to my feet. I looked behind her to see three people and one winged horse talking to each other.
"I thought you said it was just Athena and Pegasus?" I asked looking back at my sister.
"Well...It looks like Hera and Hermes had the same idea we had..." The gods came over to us. "Thank you, heroes, for saving us. We give you our gratitude. And if you ever need our help, ask." The red-haired woman said. I smiled at her.
"Athena, Hermes, Pegasus. Let us go." And with that, the red-haired woman and the brown-haired man disappeared.
"Pegasus and I will walk you three to your car," Athena said pushing her black glasses up her nose. We all walked out of the forest and back to Scouts car. The white-winged horse came up behind me and whined. "Hold on Pegasus," She said looking back to Scout.
"Thank you yet again, Scout. If you ever need anything, you know where to find me." And then Athena leaned in and kissed my sister. My eyes were wide. Pegasus snorted behind me and looked away. They pulled apart and Athena looked over to Loki and I.

"And thank you. Both of you. For killing Stheno. It was very brave." She said with a smile.
"It was nothing really," I said looking over to Loki and then back to the goddess. "We must take our leave before Hera gets angry." Pegasus walked over to her and Athena hopped on.
"Oh wait!" Scout said going into her car and pulling out Athena's shield.
"Here. You left it at my last motel..." Athena took it from Scout.
"Farwell Scout Walker. Til we meet again." And with that, they disappeared. We all stayed quiet for a while. "You and...and the goddess of wisdom! When did that happen?!" I questioned my sister.
"Long story short it was one crazy weekend in Greece." She said with a smirk. "I guess your not her only type," Scout said lightly punching Loki in the arm before she got in her car.
Me and Loki looked at each other before getting into her car. When we got back to the motel I took a well-needed shower. After I did that Loki and I helped Scout pack her things.
"Alright. That's the last of it." Scout said turning to face me. "Be safe okay," Scout said hugging me.
"You too."
We pulled apart and I smiled at her. "You take good care of my sister you hear demigod. Or I'll kill you." She said hopping into her car. "I'll see you again soon Cansas." I waved goodbye as she drove away.
When she was out of eyeshot I sighed. "Well. We should get back to Balthazar." I said taking Loki's hand in mine. In the blink of an eye, we were gone. I brought my car back to the house as well as my clothes and weapons with a single thought.
"Come on. You should get some sleep." Loki said wrapping his arm around my shoulder. We walked into the house and was met by silence. Loki walked me up to my room and I walked in. I took my jacket and boots off before falling onto my bed with an exhausted sigh.
"Good night Cansas," Loki said before he went to shut the door.
I sat up and stopped him. "Wait." Loki reopened the door and looked in.
"Yeah?" I waved him over and he walked into my room. Scooting over in my bed I patted the spot next to me.
"Would you mind just staying here until I fall asleep?"
"Of course." He said laying down next to me in the bed. Loki wrapped his arm around my shoulders and I wrapped my arm around him. "When...when I died..."
"We don't need to talk about that Cansas," Loki said but I shook my head.
"I need to say something." Loki stayed quiet for a while before sighing. "Alright."
"W-when I died. I don't think I went to Heaven...or Hell for that matter. It felt wilder and pure and...not what I would think Heaven or Hell would feel like." Loki played with my hair as he listened.
"But where would I even go? Is there other places besides Heaven and Hell?"
"Well...t-there's a place...have you heard of Purgatory?" I shook my head and looked up at him.
"It's where all the monster go when they die. I-I think you went there." He said looking down at me with worry in his eyes.
"But why would I go there? Shouldn't I go to Hell? I'm half demon."
"Yes, but you're also half human...your soul wants to go two ways and it ends up getting stuck in the middle." I looked back at the bed sheets.
"H-how do you know this?" Loki chuckled. "Balthazar told me..." I chuckled as well. Loki then kissed me on the top of my head.
"Get some sleep. I'll watch over you."
