《Clato》chapter three

Cato was still fast asleep, lying down on his stomach.
Clove returned to her room to see Cato laying there. Good. He hadn't woken up and seen her go. She left him there to go do some training, so he would think she had done that all along. She soon mastered 31 meters and moved onto 32. This was as fast as she'd ever mastered them before. She guessed it was because of all the pressure resting on her to help Cato.
If her name was called.

Cato opened his eyes and noticed Clove wasn't beside him. He frowned slightly.
Clove continued to practice until her arms were sore. She had mastered the ability to slice dummies heads of in one throw by that time. She went and took a seat at the benches.
Cato walked out of the dorms and out into the training area.
Clove saw Cato come in. She didn't know what to do. She felt like if she went close enough he would read her mind or see it in her expression, but she knew if she stayed away he'd be suspicious. She decided to go up to him.
"Cato!" she exclaimed, running up to him.
Cato looked towards Clove, he smiled.
"Where'd you go?"
Clove was speechless for a second, feeling guilty about what she was about to say. She had never wanted to lie to Cato.
"Oh, just down here to train, that's all. I can behead the dummies now!" She said, sounding as convincing as possible.
Cato smiled.
"That's great cutie," he told her and kissed the top of her head. "Gotta head home soon." He frowned.
"Oh, ok." Clove replied. "I'll miss you babe!" She added with a smile.
"I'll miss you too." Cato answered, kissing her lips gently. "I'll see you tomorrow."

"Ok. I love you!" She said, returning the kiss.
"I love you too." He smiled and left the academy.

The rest of the week continued as per usual. Clove threw knives from even further away, Cato improved his sword fighting skills, and they would stop to kiss and chat quite often. Clove hid her secret quite well, and told Cato she had decided not to volunteer. Cato believed her. Now her fate rested solely in the escorts hands as she chose the name of the girl...

OUTLIERS
30 years ago brought the first superhumans, regular people given great power seemingly at random. 15 years ago brought the paranormals, stranger and often weaker in their abilities, but far more numerous. Today, the world holds its breath . . . Or at least, it should. Most people, though, are just trying to get on with their lives; some successfully, some less so. It's a sensible goal, but it can be hard when shadowy conspiracies and worldwide N.G.O.s are turning your city into a proxy battleground over world-shattering secrets. It’s bad enough when you’ve just woken up with superpowers and terrorists are holding your school hostage. It’s even worse if you’re an illegal vigilante stuck in the middle of the whole Charlie Foxtrot after a supervillain raid drops vital information in your lap. For Hannah Eiling-Kingsford and Flint Perez, life is about to get a lot harder to get on with. ----- Outliers is a superhero story. Okay, so not so much superhero as vaguely superhero-ish. It's about two teenagers dealing with, among other things, new powers, psycho exes, mysterious datapads and a giant, secret war between the foremost powers-that-be, over information that could forever change the world. Again. You know, normal teenage stuff. Outliers contains some foul language and mild sexual references. It is a complete story, and can also be read on its own website.
