《Psychic》Ch38 - Three Minutes of Divine Prophecy

Xiao Jin was worthy of being called one of the top hackers in the world. With just a simple Weibo post, he was able to destroy Gao Yize's positive image, which had been be carefully constructed after years of hard work.
The Cyber Police Division spent an entire day trying to solve the problem before finally managing to seize control of the situation.
At two o'clock in the morning, Gao Yize's Weibo could no longer be found on the Internet, but the memory of those tragic events still lingered in the hearts of the public.
Even after his death, Xinghui Entertainment Company had properly managed and maintained Gao Yize's Weibo account. Warm candlelight and white flowers adorned his personal homepage. Photos taken before his death were shown on the homepage, with a new image being circulated every 24 hours.
His fans had been obsessively monitoring this page for every photo change, giving it their undivided attention. In addition to these fans, many others had also joined in this to commemorate his death.
Countless celebrities had prayed for him, and his death seemed to simply serve as the gilt to his impeccable image.
Of course, such sentiments and actions had lasted only till 24 hours ago.
As it was, Gao Yize's Weibo had now become a gray page. As fans left, their number continued to drop. But occasionally, it would soar; intermittent waves of netizens, who were unable to restrain their emotions, would go to his homepage to directly whip his corpse by leaving only a pile of vicious curses.
There were rational people in this world, and then there were the crazy brainless people, and it was to this category that Gao Yize's remaining 'fanatic' fans belonged to. All of Gao Yize's major fan clubs had been disbanded, but there were a few that still existed.
No matter how much the outside world denounced their idol, no matter how wicked his actions were, in their hearts, Gao Yize was still that flawless youth, the one they loved the most.
Now that Gao Yize had died, the love they harboured for him would remain the strongest it was and never dissipate.
In a small and dimly lit room, a woman adorned in heavy make-up and dressed in revealing clothes looked at the computer with a gloomy expression. Her QQ was pinging with notifications repeatedly and she seemed to be chatting in a lively manner.
The voice of a netizen named 'Beloved A Ze' sounded from the headset, "Big Sister, last time, didn't you say you were going to teach Fan Jialuo a lesson? Did the plan work?"
The woman's expression twisted for a moment before she replied, "No, something went wrong with it."
"What happened?"
"Don't ask. It's better if you know less."
"What went wrong with the plan? For A Ze, I can afford everything! I just want to kill Fan Jialuo, that bitch! It was because of him that A Ze had been so miserable! And that Xiao Jin, if he hadn't already committed suicide, this old lady would have chopped him myself!"
"He's dead. Fan Jialuo is our main target now. Later today, I'll send a private message to that bitch and scold him to death. If he curses me back, I'll take a screenshot and post it onto Weibo to expose him! What 'Personality Appraisal Machine'? Pei! He is the most disgusting person in the world!"
"Yes, yes, yes! I'll also send him a private message and curse him out!"
"Call and gather all the people in the group! Everyone must scold him together. Let's see if he can bear it."

"En! I'll let them know right now."
After this conversation, the woman couldn't hold back the triumphant grin that spread across her face. She leaned closer to the camera to check whether her make-up had been smudged. Then, she initiated a group video call, inviting 'Beloved A Ze' and other members, while her gaudy face appeared on the screen.
This woman was Sister Qing, the one who had attempted to kidnap Fan Jialuo not too long ago.
As if suddenly remembering something, Sister Qing clicked on her Weibo's private message page and quickly sent a screenshot of the abusive message she had sent Fan Jialuo to all her friends in the video call.
These people claimed to be Gao Yize's most loyal fans, and they were also the last fans who still clung to him, not wanting to leave. Of course, to the outside world, they also had a more resounding name-they were the brain-dead fans.
The message, consisting of ugly language and vulgar insults which mainly revolved around the various organs of the human body, greatly pleased all the people in this small group.
Each of the members praised Sister Qing one after another, calling her a genius in the field of swearing, as well as pronouncing her as a worthy leader.
Sister Qing felt a strong sense of satisfaction well up inside after receiving the stream of praises. Since the failure of their attempted kidnapping of Fan Jialuo, she really had stopped doing something like this for a while.
If it hadn't been for the fact that Fourth Brother had only fallen onto the tip of her knife, rather than being stabbed violently and then becoming seriously injured, she might have run away a long time ago.
After all, since that night, she seemed to have experienced frequent bouts of inexplicable bad luck. Even if she simply stayed at home, she would still encounter all sorts of danger.
The other day, her kettle suddenly exploded, scalding off a layer of skin from her thigh and rendering her unable to walk. Thus, being forced to stay at home all day, unable to move around, her anger had now roused to its limit. She stared at the computer with a ferocious expression and quickly typed out a private message to Fan Jialuo-
[Fan Jialuo, I want you to be buried with Gao Yize!]
[?]
A sudden question mark jumped out from the chat box in reply, and Sister Qing was instantly dumbfounded.
When Gao Yize was still alive, she would send insulting words to Fan Jialuo every day, but not once had she ever received any response. How did she win the bid today?
The ecstasy she experienced at getting a response instantly dispelled all the doubts Sister Qing carried in her heart. She cracked her knuckles and stretched her fingers before embarking on her mission.
A string of non-repeating swear words filled the entire screen. The vast majority of people would explode in outrage after seeing such foul and ferocious insults, but Fan Jialuo did not hesitate to send another question mark.
Sister Qing got even more irritated by the other's nonchalant attitude. She gnashed her teeth and typed out another sentence- [Fan Jialuo, sooner or later, you will die by my hands!]
She was going to settle this man's organs!
[Who are you?] -Three words popped up on the screen.
Before she could reply, another line appeared- [Why are you insulting me? I don't seem to have offended you in any way?]
Sister Qing drew the corner of her mouth upwards in a contemptuous smirk- [This old lady will scold you if she wants to scold you, and kill you if she wants to kill you. There is no other reason!]

The other side was silent for nearly half a minute, which felt really long to Sister Qing, who could hardly continue sitting still, before Fan Jialuo sent a reply, which consisted of those same three words again- [Who are you?]
Sister Qing choked and then sneered- [Aren't you a psychic? Can't you foresee death? Then guess who I am, and guess how you will die.]
Leaning against the headboard of the bed, Fan Jialuo smiled with interest and then slowly poked his fingertip on the keyboard to type out his reply- [I'm not going to die, but I can predict what you will encounter in the next three minutes.]
Upon reading Fan Jialuo's latest message, Sister Qing smashed a series of swear words and curses, then sent a screenshot of this chat log into the video group call.
She spoke sarcastically into the headset, exclaiming, "Sisters, come and have a look. This bitch Fan Jialuo is really funny! He thinks he is a God and even wants to predict my fate! I'm going to fucking spit at his Weibo homepage!"
Then, after having said so, Sister Qing acted on her words. She soon gathered a mouthful of thick phlegm in her mouth and spat it at her computer screen.
Upon seeing her behavior through the video, the group members all slapped their tables in laughter, praising her domineering and mighty attitude.
They had no way to know that when Sister Qing did this, Fan Jialuo had placed his mobile phone on a table and had stretched out his jade white palm to hover over the screen from the distance, as if he was sensing something. Suddenly, he twisted his eyebrows and turned sideways, as if avoiding some incoming projectile, and his dark eyes involuntarily showed a hint of coldness.
After around ten seconds, he picked up the mobile phone again, and without delay, typed out a sentence- [Sister Qing, you should be careful.]
Sister Qing was in the middle of laughing wildly when she saw this sentence. Her expression stiffened, it seemed as if her throat had been caught by a pair of invisible hands. She couldn't utter any sound at all.
How did he know my nickname is Sister Qing? I've never mentioned it on Weibo!
Sister Qing calmed down and reassured herself as she prepared to fight back. However, she once again received a string of messages from the other side.
-[It's lurking in the dark.]
-[It's watching you.]
-[It is moving slowly towards you, step by step, but you don't notice it.]
Sister Qing suddenly turned her head, but found that there was nothing behind her.
Seeing her panicked actions and her frightened expression, the group began to ask, "Boss, what's the matter with you? Did he scold you back? Let us take a look at it!"
Sister Qing's tense mood eased a little. She posted the screenshots of the recently received messages to the group and said sarcastically, "Damn it, Fan Jialuo can really play tricks! Is there anything behind me? Ah? Do you guys see anything? I was almost fooled by his bluff just now!"
Everyone comforted her by telling her that there was nothing behind her and that Fan Jialuo was just a liar.
But Fan Jialuo kept sending her messages.
-[It's coming, it's coming, it's getting closer...]
-[Finally, it is jumping on your shoulder, then reaching out with its claws to scratch your eyelids.]
-[Blood is gushing, black and white, your eye is falling from its socket.]
Sister Qing continued to take screenshots of the chat she was having with Fan Jialuo and forwarded them to the group.
By the time she finally actually read the words on the screen, out of nowhere, the black cat which was being raised by Fourth Brother at home, jumped onto her shoulder and scratched at her eyes furiously.
A scream broke through the silence of the night, followed by the splattering of blood across the computer screen. All that could be seen was a round eyeball which hung loosely, only attached to its owner's face by an optic nerve.
These so-called messengers of justice and devoutly loyal fans who had watched all this happen through the video call were scared out of their wits.
Just as they had finished reading the chat record screenshots, the real scene had come into being, as if it was not merely a coincidence, but a necessary sequence of events being driven by Fan Jialuo's prophecy.
He had stated that he would predict what Sister Qing would encounter in the next three minutes, and it was truly so accurate and terrible!
The video chat group broke out into loud screams. Some cried bitterly and others yelled, "Call the police, call the police! Call 110 and 120!"
"We don't know where the Boss lives! What should we do?"
"First call the police, then show them the video chat. The police can locate where it is coming from!" At the very least, there existed one or two people in this group whose brains were still functioning.
'Beloved A Ze' did not dare to close the video chat window, and quickly called the police.
Sister Qing was about faint from the pain. She was afraid that her eye would fall onto the ground so she held it in both hands.
She had thought that that night many days ago, when they were at the Moon Bay Garden Community, was the darkest and most terrible night of her life, but now she realized that it was not so at all. What had happened today was darker and more terrible than that night, and it seemed as if things were going to continue in this strain.
She fell to the ground and couldn't get up for a long time. She could only cry out again and again, "Don't call the police! You can't call the police!"
Unfortunately, no one listened to her. The police and ambulance services had already been informed and were rushing over to rescue her in a hurry.
Sister Qing struggled for a long time before finally getting up. Before she could catch her breath, she saw a line pop up in her private messages section.
-[Do you know why it hurt you?]
Sister Qing stared at the computer screen. Her entire soul had been captured by this single question.
After a while, a new line of words slowly emerged.
-[It hurt you because it wanted to hurt you, there is no reason behind it. It's just like what you do to others. I'll give you one last piece of advice. Don't pick up any money that appears in the grass or on the roadside. It will only bring you bad luck.]
Pick up money? Bad luck? As Sister Qing seemed to recall something bizarre, her breathing stagnated, and then she fell unconscious.
...
Noks: While I'm glad Sister Qing got what was coming for her, that description was a bit too gory for me... and we're only 10% into this novel. Things are gonna get bloodier and nastier...
