This story is in first-person. If you're searching for a third-person Harry Potter ff, I have one on my profile named 'You Know I Love You'.
Before you begin the story, please keep in mind this was my first ever story written and it was originally only for myself for I didn't think it would even get any reads. Because of this, the quality of this story isn't the best (frequent grammatical errors). As of right now, up to year 2 has been edited, year 6 and onward with fewer mistakes.

(2) I do not own any of the original plot or characters. All credits go to JK Rowling... I mean Dobby, Dobby wrote the books.
(3) Year 1 and 2 chapters are extremely short and poorly written! Those were my first few chapters I had ever wrote. Sooo.... If you'd like, I'd recommend skipping to year 3 or 4. I don't recommend you skipping year 4!
(4) ...Evelyn isn't supposed to be likable throughout the first few years.

On a planet far away from Earth, an ancient tree lives inside a beautiful forest. When the tree realises that its life is coming to an end, it creates a seed without a soul. The seed begins a long journey, being passed from person to person, until it finally collides with the soul of a girl from Earth and sprouts. With her human knowledge, the girl tries to survive in this world... as a tree. Note: This is my first time writing a novel, so my writing style might be a little rough around the edges sometimes, especially the first twelve are still amateur style. I'll probably rewrite them at some point... later perhaps. Also, the MC will be introduced in chapter 13. The first twelve chapters are more of an introduction to the world, so they bear little significance to the main story. Still, I recommend reading it if you want to get a better view of the world. Chapter releases once every four days.

Authors Note: Death By Protagonist is meant to be simultaneously a satire of, and love letter to the isekai/portal fantasy genre. It both makes fun of and embraces many tropes of the genre such as harems, explicit sexual content, OP protagonists, and other things many people might think of as "trashy." If that doesn't sound like your thing, you've been warned, but I hope you'll give it a shot anyway. Update Schedule: Plan is to at least put out one new chapter every week, hopefully two.

This is mostly what I'll be writing on my phone on my breaks at work to keep readers having some content as I cannot work on Heart of a Mer while there.
