"You look great in that uniform by the way" I heard someone say from besides me. Oh I know this voice well of course, 'Two pumpkin pasties please".
"Thanks" I turned around to look at her giving her a smile.
"Shame really, you would've been great at Beauxbatons. Hogwarts just isn't for you" Cho said giving me the fakest smile ever.
"Oh yeah totally, do you want some pumpkin pasties Cho?" I pulled out the pumpkin pasties I had shoved in my pocket and handed it to her. She looked at it for a second and smiled turning away without saying anything.
Our attention was quickly drawn by a group of guys entering the great hall carrying something golden. It looked like a tower as it stood in the very front of the great hall as Dumbledore walked to stand next to it.
"Attention Please!" The chatters of the great hall drowned out.
"Eternal glory awaits the winner of the tri-wizard tournament. To this the student has to complete three tasks. Three extremely dangerous tasks" Dumbledore's voiced echoed through the great hall. I looked over at Fleur who watched so intrigued, she wanted to enter the tournament.
"Don't even think about it" I muttered grabbing her arm.
"And so the ministry thought it would be fit to set new rules. To explain all this, we have the head of the Department of International Magical Cooperation, Barty Crouch"
Crouch made his way to the front next to the golden tower when out of nowhere lighting stuck and rain started to fall inside the great hall. Gabrielle quickly hugged Fleur as the students began to yell out. Then, a bright red light flashed at the roof of the great hall causing the rain to stop. I looked towards where the light had come from and saw Alastor Moddy, a very famous auror. There were rumors he had gone crazy though.
He was stomping around the room limping with his walking stick due to one of his legs being of metal. One of his fake eyes searched every part of the room until it landed on Harry. He soon looked away and walked towards Dumbledore shaking his hand and drank something out of a strange bottle he had pulled out. Something that definitely wasn't pumpkin juice.
Crouch walked up in front of the golden tower, he was blinking frantically just like the time back at the field of tends in front of the Quidditch world cup stadium.

"After consideration, the ministry has concluded that no students under the age of 17 should be allowed to put forth their name for the Tri-Wizard tournament. This decision is final"
The students in the great hall roared out booing and yelling at Crouch. I didn't really mind since I wasn't planning on entering anyway and Fleur also didn't mind since she was just 17.
"THAT'S RUBBISH!" George and Fred's screams were the loudest among the others.
"SILENCE!!" Dumbledore's voice echoed through the great hall making a lot of the students go quiet. He pointed his wand at the very top of the golden tower lowering it slowly revealing a goblet. Slight whispers filled the room once again when blue flames rose from the goblet.
"The goblet of fire, anyone wishing to enter the tournament will write their name on a piece of parchment and put it in the flame" Dumbledore announced. From beside me Fleur still holding Gabrielle close smirked intrigued and Cho was too busy flirting with another Ravenclaw boy.
"Do not do so lightly, if chosen, there's no turning back. As from this moment, the tri wizard tournament has begun" Dumbledore concluded.
The Beauxbatons girls were staying in the Ravenclaw common rooms while the Drumstrang boys stayed in the Slytherin common room. I'm not from Beauxbatons, only representing it as a part of the Clermont sisters so I was able to go back to my own house. I entered the common room to find Harry Ron and Hermione gathered around a fireplace.
"Evelyn you traitor" Hermione chuckled wrapping her arms around my shoulder dragging me to sit down in front of the fireplace.
"Your sister's really pretty" Ron said starstruck. Hermione of course rolled her eyes slouching on the couch.
"She's a quarter veela don't forget" I said sitting down besides Hermione.
"Gorgeous I'm telling you, gorgeous"
"Please don't tell me you fancy my sister Ron that's just weird to think about"
"Blimey Evelyn I think I might do"
"You just met her!"
"Cedric fancied you the moment he got his eyes on you too I bet so does Draco"
"Now to think about it, you have a point. Harry also started to fancy Cho Chang the moment he saw her too no?" I rolled my eyes looking down at Harry who was sitting on the floor leaning his back on the couch.
"Shove off" He said shaking his head looking down at the floor. His cheeks started to turn red even, I felt a little heartbroken.

"Seriously Harry you're only going to be played by her and Ron so will- I uhm.. Never mind" Hermione looked down at her book to continue reading.
"Evelyn, do you think maybe you could help me get with your sister?"
"Of course not Ron" I smiled at him sarcastically. "I'm gonna go to bed" I got up as Hermione followed linking her arm with mine as we walked up to the girl's dormitories.

I laid in bed for about an hour looking up at the ceiling, I was absolutely starving. I didn't eat very well at the great hall today because of Cho's presence. It was just frustrating to be with her. It was about 30 minutes past curfew so I would get in trouble but honestly I think that's better than starving to death.
I got up and walked out to the common and towards the Hufflepuff common room. George had told me he always gets late night snacks at the kitchen, an entrance of it being a pear painting. Right next to the Hufflepuff common room I tickled the pear painting which let out a giggle opening to reveal the kitchen of Hogwarts.
"Evelyn Clermont?" A voice peeked from the kitchen and a small house elf appeared.
"Hey, I don't think I know your name"
"My name is Dobby Ma'am, it's so nice to finally meet you! Harry Potter has told me about you"
"Harry? Really"
"Yes yes! Harry Potter speaks very fondly of you"
"Oh, that's nice-" I felt my face heat up a little, "Dobby, could you please get me something to eat?"
"Pumpkin pasties?"
"Anything but pumpkin pasties"
Dobby quickly ran inside the kitchen and after about 10 minutes brought me some food. Quickly I dove down for it not usually like how I eat. I did eat with a fork and a knife of course just more faster.
"Evelyn Clermont must eat slower!" Dobby yelled at me.
"I'm sorry Dobby I'm just starving, could you please get me a glass of water?" He nodded before running inside again. I was too busy stuffing my mouth with food when I heard a small chuckle from the entrance. I turned out to see Cedric looking at me with a smile leaning against the wall. I quickly swallowed the food and hid the plate behind me and turned around to face him.
"Cedric! Hi! Um.. What are you doing here?"
"I'm a prefect Evelyn, what are you doing here?"
"Late night snack.."
"The famous Evelyn Clermont known for being so elegant stuffing her mouth with food past curfew" He said laughing and walking next to me leaning against a wall.
"Oh shove off Cedric"
"If I win eternal glory would I be able to stay?"
"Don't tell me you're gonna enter the tri-wizard tournament"
"Your sister did"
"WHAT!" I looked at him shocked dumbfounded, "You must've gotten the wrong person. I told her about thousands of times to not enter and she promised!"
"She's not easy to mistaken, she's incredibly pretty"
"Well of course, she's a veela"
"So are you"
A smile appeared on my face. He really was sweet but I don't fancy him like that. Although if I didn't fancy someone I would totally be melting right now.
"Don't enter the tri-wizard tournament, I have a bad feeling about it"
"What's the worst that could happen? I'm sure Dumbledore will keep all the three contestants safe. All three will make it out alive don't worry"
"If you die I'm going to laugh and say I told you so"
"I won't die, I'm secretly a vampire with the name of Edward"
"Really?"
"Kidding, you're really gullible" We laughed.
"I should get going, thanks for the company" I said, "See you"
"Bye Evelyn"
I headed out of the kitchen and back to the Girl's dormitories inside the Gryffindor common room. To my surprise, Hermione was sitting up on her bed with her arms crossed looking at me raising her eyebrows.
"I can explain" I said walking back to my bed.
"Where were you!"
"In the kitchen"
"The kitchen? There's a kitchen in Hogwarts? I never heard of one"
"Yeah the house elves prepare food there"
"What! House elves? That's forced labor! They can't just force them to work like that!"
"Hermione they like doing their job"
"No no no.. There has to be a way to free the house elves. Maybe if I can get enough signatures and send it to the ministry.. We'll call it Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare" She took out a piece of parchment and started to write things down.
"So spew?"
"No, S.P.E.W"
"...Goodnight Hermione"

Shadowrun: Blake Island School of Magic
It's a high tech, low life. It's the Seattle Metroplex in 2074. It rises like a steel and concrete cancer out of the earth. Poverty is rampant, corruption is everywhere, crime is out of control, corporations basically control everything, the old United States is fractured, magic has come back and now it turns out that humanity has been joined by elves, dwarves, orks and trolls. The old world ended but the rent is still due. Life goes on. You'd be surprised what people can adapt to, especially if they don't have a choice. One of the places where life goes on is just west of Seattle. Surrounded by the waters of the Puget Sound is an island. On that island is the Blake Island School of Magic. A decade ago it was known for producing some of the most talented awakened in the world. That reputation was hijacked by the wealthy corporate elite who now park their teenage children there. And since it's a boarding school, their parents mostly forget about them. Three young people, who are certainly not wealthy or elite, are chosen this year to attend this school of magic in hopes of revitalizing their reputation for talent. One from the ash drifts of the Puyallup Barrens, one from the most densely populated slum hive in the world and one from prison. This is their story. -- This story is set in the Shadowrun universe. If you're not familiar with Shadowrun, it mostly tells the stories of deniable mercenaries called shadowrunners in a cyberpunk dystopia. Instead of telling another story solely about shadowrunners, this story will tell the tale of young people navigating a world that is indifferent to them at best and actively hostile at worst. Shadowrunners will be in the story and we'll see them operate, but they won't be its main focus. This story originally began in 2017 as a passion project and continues to this day on the Somethingawful.com forums. The unedited version is over a million words strong. There are currently seven books in this series and I am currently in the process of editing them.
