Dad, Mother and I made our way towards the Malfoy Manor standing in front of the gates. Dad held my hands tight the whole time we walked towards the manor. About a month had passed since the start of summer break. I spent the whole time at my house locked inside my room. Our house elf, Rosie brought me food and other than that I wasn't allowed to leave. There were no expressions in my face, I was numb. The gates slowly opened and mother walked inside while Dad pulled me back just a little.
"I sent an owl to Dumbledore and he agreed to send Tonks, a good friend of mine, to apparate you out of our house once we get back. Since there is a spell around our house blocking apparition, you need to make a run for the field" He whispered as we slowly headed inside. My eyes were glued onto the ground only wanting to go back home so Dad and I could make a run to the field back into safety.
"Welcome" My eyes shot up at the sound of a cold voice, a voice that immediately sent shivers down my spine. There was a huge dining table in the middle of the room and it was filled with many people I had seen on wanted posters. In the very middle, the man everyone feared sat looking at me with a grin on his face. His white pale skin, snake like nose and the long skinny fingers, his tone, everything made me panic. My dad's grip on my hand got tighter when I had started to feel my whole body shake. I was shaking with a mix of two emotions, fear and anger. He murdered Cedric.
"Please, take a seat" He motioned to a seat directly in front of him. I slowly made my way around all the other death eaters smirking at me until I got to the chair he had motioned to. Directly across from me was he who must not be named and beside me was my dad and Draco. Draco was just as scared as I was, his face was calm but under the table his whole body was shaking.
"Everyone, please welcome our new friend, Evelyn Clermont" He who must not be named said as all the death eaters turned to look at me. The woman next to him, Bellatrix Lestrange looked at me disgusted.

"Now I would like to thank all of you for gathering around for me to celebrate my return. Before we can celebrate, I would like to announce I plan on leaving an heir. I believe, Apolline, your daughters are the best fit for this " He spoke in such a slow pase, slow yet so calm.
"It would be our honor my lord" Mother replied with a grin. An heir, he wanted Fleur to carry his heir. Gabrielle was only 9 and Fleur is almost an adult.
"My lord," Dad spoke out almost immediately, "Fleur is nowhere to be found"
"I'm well aware, it's like someone is, perhaps, hiding her from me" He grinned at my dad who didn't look away but stare into his eyes.
"I suppose if your eldest daughter isn't found any time soon, our friend Evelyn over here could have the honors" He faced me as he spoke and I immediately looked away and at the ground. An heir, I would carry the heir of the dark lord. My hands started to shake uncontrollably when Draco placed his on mine grabbing it tight. The two of us held on to each other's hands like our life depended on it.
"My lord, Evelyn is too young" My dad spoke out.
"Once Evelyn becomes an adult and Fleur is yet to be found, then we will talk about it" I let out the most quiet sigh out, I was still only 15, 3 more years until I was a legal adult.
"And Evelyn, I heard about your relationship with Harry Potter?" He looked at me with another grin. I didn't dare look up or say anything, my eyes were glued on the ground holding on to Draco's hands as tight as possible. This will soon all be over, we'll go home, dad and I will make a run for the field and get to safety.
"What is on your mind dear?" He asked. I looked up and made eye contact with him, I know what he was trying to do. He is very skilled at Legilimency, being able to read minds. I quickly cleared my mind as if I trapped all my thoughts inside a box focusing on the present. I focused on the dinner table, the looks of the death eaters, and the feeling of his presence clearing anything else. A huge grin formed on his face as he rested his back on his chair.

"Let's start to eat" He says as all the death eaters began to eat their food. The dark lord however only stared at me and I pretended not to notice. I didn't move, I didn't eat and nor did Draco. Everyone's plates emptied out but Draco and I's, the whole time the dark lord's eyes didn't leave me.
"Now my dear friends, if you'll excuse me I want to have a little chat with Evelyn here" The dark lord spoke once again. Dad looked at me concerned before getting up and leaving the manor following a lot of the other death eaters, mostly escapees from azkaban. In the room only Draco and his parents, me, and HE remained.
"I heard from Barty Crouch you were a very bright witch. You're on the right track of doing Occlumency already dear but not quite. If you join me I can help you become the strongest witch anyone had ever laid eyes on" His voice sent shivers down my spine. I remained seated not looking up shaking uncontrollably while keeping an emotionless face. Tom Riddle had asked me to join him back in the Chamber of Secrets and I was met with a slow and painful death, what's another.
"No" I whispered shaking my head aggressively. He looked at me grinning once again.
"We'll meet again Evelyn, we'll meet again" He said almost whispering before disappearing into the air as a dark mist. As soon as his presence was gone I let out a gasp taking deep breaths in and out.
"Miss. Clermont" Another cold voice called out my name. I looked over Draco's shoulders to see Lucius Malfoy approaching me slowly noticing Draco's hand still holding on to mine. Draco noticed as well and he quickly threw my hand away looking away.
"I have no choice but to require you to perform the unbreakable vow in case you accidentally slip out a couple of names you heard today" He said in his usual cold tone, "Draco"
Draco got up of his seat and I followed. All I wanted to do right now was to leave this manor. He put out his arm and I put out mine, both of us grabbed onto each other's wrist as Lucius began to perform the unbreakable vow.

My dad and I had finished packing our stuff as dad sent it to somewhere, somewhere he didn't quite tell me. He grabbed my hand and headed out towards the door cautiously just in case mother would catch on. We walked outside and onto the field easily. Outside stood a woman I had never seen before with purple hair.
"Evelyn, nice to finally meet you. I'm Tonks" She said shaking my hand, "Shall we head out?"
"Not so fast" We all turned to face Mother stomping her way towards us pointing her wand at me.
"Apolline please-"
"Save it Monsieur"
"Expelliarmus!" Dad shot a spell at her. Mother was quick to react protecting herself from it with the non-verbal protego spell. She looked at my dad furiously and pointed her wand at him sending out green lights out of her wand. The two continued their non verbal fights taking turns protecting themselves and attacking the other.
"GO!" Dad yelled out deflecting another spell. Tonks hesitated for a second before grabbing on to my wrist pulling me away.
"NO!" I struggled against her grip. Her grip was tight on me as she wrapped her arms around me pulling me away.
"GET OUT!" He yelled again. I tried to run towards him bot Tonks pulled me away hard. I struggled as hard as possible but it was no use.
"Avada Kedavra!" My mother shot a spell hitting dad directly. His body flew into the air landing right beside me. In the moment I felt my heart stop, no voice left my body. Mother looked up from dad's dead body and looked up to me smirking just as Tonks disapparated her and I.
We apparated inside some sort of building. This was my first ever time apparating and surely enough my head started to spin. The world started to move and my visions blurred, in the distance I saw Mrs. Weasley come rushing towards me with her arms out. I collapsed to the ground kneeling down and falling forward. Mrs. Weasley and Tonk's arm were tight around me, my ears were ringing and I couldn't think. I opened my mouth and screamed as loud as possible trying to scream out ever bit of anger and grief out of my body. I didn't hear anything, I couldn't hear anything. It felt as if my heart had stopped beating and I was in an immense physical and mental pain. I let out another scream before fully collapsing onto the floor passing out.

She awakens in A'lara City a few days later and recuperates under the steadfast care of her repentant friend Jorn.As she reacclimates to her waking state, Larin struggles with her gruesome memories of the Hells and her decision to conceal them from Jorn. This story answers the question, Is Larin all right? with a resounding yes, and some storms on the horizon. It also raises the question, What happened to her down there? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Falling Down, about Larin's ordeal in the Nine Hells. Praise for Waking Up and Falling Down: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between Waking Up and Falling Down is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair.
