《Elegance | Harry Potter》Year 5-3 | Relationships

I walked down into the common room and Harry was sitting there, in front of the fireplace just staring at it. No one else was in the common room, just Harry and I.
"You're looking rather lonely aren't you Harry" I walked towards him sitting down beside him. He shifted making room for me before looking at me with a slight smile. Even though it was a smile, it had sadness in it. "What's in your mind?" He thought for a moment looking away to the ground.
"I just- I just feel so angry all the time. All these encounters with Voldemort, what if it changed me as a person? What if I'm becoming bad?" He looked back up looking at me in the eyes. His breath was uneasy, shaky even like he was frustrated.
"Harry, you're not a bad person. Do I really need to explain to you all the times you had protected others, protected me?"
"You protect me half the times"
"But you also said you protected me, just I'll never know it. Remember? Back in our third year Harry. Then in our second year you saved me from death. It's okay that you feel angry all the time Harry, I do too. Things have changed, that doesn't mean you have changed as a person"
We looked into each other's eyes for a moment until a small smile appeared on Harry's face. A mirrored his expression smiling as his smile grew bigger. He was my comfort and I wanted to be his comfort.
"Well Harry Potter, like a boy once said, won't you come be lonely with me?" I got up from the couch putting out a hand in front of him. He laughed a little placing his hand in mine holding it and brought it up to his lips gently kissing it.
"Where to?"
"The first place you protected me, the forbidden forest" I smiled slowly pulling him towards the door of the common room.

We walked through the forbidden forest with our hands holding each other's. The forest during the day time was actually quite beautiful. All the dangerous magical creatures would disappear and the harmless ones will come out. We walked in silence, not an uncomfortable one. Just silence in enjoying the moment.

"5 years ago was it? When the centaur saved us from you know who" I said breaking the silence, "5 years since I've met you"
He nodded and rubbed the back of my hand with his thumb, "The time you and Ron sacrificed for me still haunts me" He let out a small laugh.
"The right thing to do"
We both walked for a bit more when looked a beautiful black bone like horse passing by us drawing our attention to it. The same one that we had saw pulling our carriages. We stopped to watch the horse slowly walk away into the depths of the woods.
"Come on" I smiled at Harry following the horse pulling him with me. The horse made it's way to a group of the same kind of horses. In the middle of them was Luna Lovegood. She tendered the horses carefully and they didn't object to her affection.
"Hello Harry Potter and Evelyn Clermont" She said in a dreamy voice recognizing our presence. Harry walked closer to the horse examining it pulling me with him.
"Your feet, aren't they cold?" Harry asked with his eyes glued on the magical creature.
"A little"
"Nargles again?" I asked remembering our conversation in front of the Ravenclaw common room.
"Unfortunately all my shoes have mysteriously disappeared" She said nodding. Nargles, I doubt the Nargles were really behind it. Probably the girls who made fun of her being different hid her shoes.
"What are they?" Harry asked.
"They're called Thestrals" As Luna answered the Thestral she was rendering opened it's wing flapping it letting out a roar. Thestrals, that's what they looked like. Hagrid told me about them once, only those who have witnessed death can see it. That's why suddenly I can see it, I witnessed dad's.
"They're quite gentle really but people avoid them because they're a bit..." A baby thestral started to walk up towards Luna squeaking. They were beautiful creatures in my eyes but I can definitely see people avoiding them for looking bizarre.
"..Different" Harry finished her sentence, "Why can't others see it?" Harry asked Luna following her towards the baby thestral.
"They can only be seen by people who've seen death" I replied.

"So.. you've known someone who's died?" Harry asked Luna carefully.
"My mom. She was quite the extraordinary witch. She did like to experiment and one day when of her spells went badly wrong. I was nine"
"I'm sorry"
"It was rather horrible. I do feel sad about it sometimes but I've got dad. We both believe you by the way, that he who must not be named is back, and you fought him, and the ministry is conspiring against you and Dumbledore"
"Thanks, you're one of the very few"
"Don't think that's true" She said tossing an apple at the baby thestral, "If I were you know who, I'd want you to feel all cut off from everyone else because if it's just you alone, you're not as much of a threat"
"And you're not alone Harry" I said quietly squeezing his hand. He turned to face me giving me a smile.
"Evelyn, let's go back to Ron and Hermione. My minds all be cleared out"
I nodded smiling back at him. "Bye Luna" I said before letting Harry pull me back towards the castle.

The great hall was filled with chatters like nothing had happened. I was still holding on to Harry's hand and he was holding on to mine. He walked up to Hermione and Ron taking a deep breath.
"Harry," Hermione greeted him with a very slight smile. She looked down at our hands and then back up at me smirking.
"Can I join you" Harry asked cautiously. Hermione only looked at him and then at Ron not saying anything. Her slight bit of smile turned into a gasp when Umbridge's voice echoed though the corridors.
"I'm merely requesting that when it comes to my students you conform to the prescribed disciplinary practices" Profesor McGonagall said sternly to Umbridge. A couple of students walked out to the corridors to watch the scene, the two were arguing on a staircase.
"So silly of me but it sounds you're questioning my authority in my own classroom, Minerva"
"Not at all, Dolores, merely your medieval methods"
"I'm sorry dear, but to question my practices is to question the ministry's, and by a extension, the minister himself. I'm a tolerant woman, but the one thing I will not stand for is disloyalty" Umbridge scoffed.
"Disloyalty," Profesor McGonagall stepped down the steps looking at her sorrowfully as Umbridge stepped up.
"Things at Hogwarts are far worse than I feared," she turned to face the crowd of students watching, "Cornelius will want to take immediate action" she said before storming off. Profesor McGonagall was thrown back at first but signed brushing past me walking off. I looked at Harry and then back at Profesor McGonagall. I slowly let go of his hand and followed her towards her office, instinctively maybe.
"Profesor McGonagall?" I knocked at her door.
"Come in" A weak voice answered. I opened the door slowly and Profesor McGonagall greeted me with a slight smile.
"Miss Clermont, what brings you here today?"
"Oh- Nothing serious really I just.. Cup of tea maybe?" I stuttered, I really had no reason to follow her inside. Just out of pure instinct following the one profesor I respected the most from Hogwarts.
"I remember back in your first year, you told me I was making a mistake not believing you dear. From that day I never doubted your thoughts" She sighed gesturing at an empty seat in front of her.
"Well Profesor McGonagall, though it may be obvious I fear that Umbridge would be going on sprees changing Hogwarts" I said slowly sitting down across from her.
"Well Miss Clermont, what do you advise that I do?"
"I'm not exactly sure Professor" She nodded handing me a cup of tea inside a very fancy teacup.
"You and Mr. Potter, are you two in love?" She asked with a pure smile excitedly.
"No ma'am-" I paused laughing a little at her pure excitement, "We're just friends" Friends. Yes friends that kiss each other, nothing out of the blue. All completely normal things.
We continued small talks, she told me about a few teacher stories. How every profesor dislikes Umbridge with a passion, which profesor secretly likes who. I even found out Filch even fancied Umbridge. If Harry had Dumbledore to go to whenever in the need of help, profesor McGonagall was mine.

Old Riding Author Lunatic Asylum
Just off the A19, in the dark, incomprehensible lands known as Yorkshire, there lies a town. A town where shadow-silent alleys glint with the secret hunger of knives. Where blood soaks the chipboard window shutters of forsaken terraces stretching off into the night. Where the smog-choked air rattles with the depraved laughter echoing out from clubs that can only generously be described as post-apocalyptic. Well, that’s Middlesbrough. But down the A19 a bit (an impossibly long way down, actually) there lies another town: Raughnen, in the ancient, forgotten Old Riding. It is an equal match in muggery and thuggery alike. It also has magic spells and pointy wizard hats. And now, across the miles and across all sensibilities, a pretty nasty power (a magic one) calls out for its pretty nasty counterpart (a decidedly unmagic one): a proper sound Boro lad. Nothing good can come of it. This is a collection of one novella and four connected short stories: I. A Yorkshire Summoning II. Old Riding Day Trip (the novella) III. Heaven is a Parmo IV. Death on the 66 V. Death on the 257 In total, this comprises 34 chapters totalling around 35,000 words, so try not to worry. It will be over relatively quickly. There are three more short stories with more tenuous links to the core collection: Rush, Paper Round and Scenario 79: Sausage Fingers, all of which can be found in my collection Short Records of Misadventure. Reading these may allow you to make more sense of certain parts of the story, if any sense is to be made at all. NOTE: There are instances of prejudice and discrimination within these stories, including elements of sexism and ageism, which are purely the thoughts and actions of the characters involved and which certainly do not reflect my own views on these matters. ANOTHER NOTE; A WARNING, PERHAPS: This can get a bit weird. In less than 150 pages, we have four viewpoints, first and third person narratives, and a completely disjointed plot with lots of gaps, dead ends and no real resolution. Also ZERO lunatic asylums. It's all a bit odd. If that sort of thing isn't your cup of tea, which it most likely isn't, it might be best to move on now.
