Ministry of Magic
arry, Ron, Hermione, and I all gathered together after flushing ourselves inside the ministry. We were all disguised as workers from the Ministry using polyjuice potion. Harry as Albert Roncon, Hermione as Mafalda Hopkirk, Ron as Reg Cattermole, and I was Amelia Bones. Hermione froze staring at a statue standing in the middle of the Ministry. It had muggles under pure-blood witches and wizards, suffering.
"Are those..."
"Muggles," Hermione answered Harry, "In their rightful place."
"Gotta tell you, I'm starting to freak out a bit," Ron said.
"How long did you say this batch of Polyjuice would last, Hermione?" Harry asked.
"I didn't."
"Right, remember what I said. Don't speak to anyone unless absolutely necessary. Just try and act normal. Do what everybody else is doing," I said taking a deep breath, "Umbridge's office is two floors down, follow me."
We stuck together close the entire time, not leaving each other's side for even a second. I led them towards an empty lift pushing through all the busy wizards and witches. "Cattermole," Just as the door was about to close, Yaxley stopped the door. I never really saw him around the ministry, just know his coworkers hated him. "It's raining in my office, two days now," He said.
"Have you tried an umbrella?" Ron asked.
"You do realize I'm going downstairs, don't you, Cattermole?"
"Downstairs?"
"To interrogate your wife. Now, if my wife's blood status were in doubt and the head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement needed a job doing, I think I might just make that a priority. You have one hour," He said walking away and letting the door close. I quickly grabbed onto the handles dangling from the ceiling of the lift before it started to move while Hermione, Ron, and Harry jumped, unaware of the sudden movement before grabbing on.
"Oh, my God. What am I gonna do? My wife's all alone downstairs," Ron said.
"Ron, you don't have a wife," Harry replied.
"Oh, right. But how do I stop it raining?"
"Try 'Finite Incantatem.' Always works," I said.
"Level two, Department of Magical Law Enforcement and Improper Use of Magic Department"
"This is you, Ron," I said nudging him, practically pushing him out.
"Finite Incantatem. Okay. And if that doesn't work...?" Before anyone could answer Ron, the lift started moving again.
"Level 1, Minister of Magic and support staff".
"If we don't locate Umbridge within the hour we go find Ron and come back another day. Deal?" Harry said as the lift slowed down to make a stop.
"Yes," Hermione replied. The lift came to a full stop and the door opened revealing Umbridge wearing the locket around her neck and the same exact pink outfit she wore the entire time at Hogwarts. Nothing has changed about her.
"Ah, Mafalda. Travers sent you, did he? Good, we'll go straight down," She said stepping inside the lift. Hermione, Harry, and I all stiffened trying to get as far away from her as possible inside the lift.

"Albert, aren't you getting out? And... Amelia? What are you doing here?" Umbridge furrowed her eyebrows looking at me. Why would I not be here? Amelia Bones is the head of Department of Magical Law Enforcement known for being unbiased. No, Yaxley said he was the head of Department of Magical Law Enforcement... Right, the ministry is now under the control of Voldemort. Makes sense she'd be fired.
"I came to see the trial of my dear friend," I lied trying to stay calm.
"Albert?" Umbridge turned motioning Harry to get out. He hesitated, looking at both Hermione and I before walking out of the lift. He stood right outside watching us as the lift began moving again out of his sight.
~***~
"Mary Elizabeth Cattermole?" Umbridge said. Hermione was seated right beside her while I was seated across from her in the guests seat, just beside Mary. On the other side of Umbridge was Yaxley giving me a dirty smirk that I tried to ignore. There were dementors just above all of us, hungrily looking down at us.
"Yes," Mary confirmed.
"Of 27 Chislehurst Gardens, Great Tolling, Evesham?"
"Yes."
"Mother to Maisie, Ellie and Alfred? Wife to Reginald?"
"Reg?" Mary looked over towards the entrance of the courtroom where Harry and Ron stood. Harry quickly pushed Ron in as if he brought him inside. Ron stood by her side drenched from the rain in Yaxley's office.
"Thank you, Albert. Mary Elizabeth Cattermole?"
"...Yes," Mary replied looking like she was about to cry.
"A wand was taken from you upon your arrival at the Ministry today," Umbridge said taking out a wand, "Is this that wand? Would you please tell the court from which witch or wizard you took this wand?"
"I didn't take it. I got it in Diagon Alley, at Ollivander's, when I was 11. It chose me."
"You're lying. Wands only choose witches, and you are not a witch."
"But I am. Tell them, Reg. Tell them what I am. Reg, tell them what I am," Marry said, her voice shaking. I noticed Harry walking to the other side of Mary with his eyes glued on the locket around Umbridge's neck. Umbridge didn't seem to have realized with her eyes on Mary.
"If you don't mind me, I believe muggles cannot see dementors. If Mary could see them just above us, that'll prove she's a witch," I said drawing all the attention to me.
"You do not have a say in this case Amelia, you no longer work at the Ministry if I must remind you. You were fired," Umbridge spat followed by Yaxley's mocking laughter. Harry then drew out his wand drawing all the attention away from me and towards him.
"What on earth are you doing, Albert?" Umbridge said furrowing her eyebrows.
"You're lying, Dolores. And one mustn't tell lies," The polyjuice potion started to wear out revealing Harry, "Stupefy!" He shot a spell at Umbridge knocking her out. Hermione quickly grabbed the locket off of her running down towards Harry and Ron. The dementors were released as Harry put out his hand, helping me down onto the court floor.

"It's Harry Potter," Marry exclaimed.
"It is, isn't it? This'll be one to tell the kids," Ron said pulling Mary with us and leaving the courtroom. We ran down the hallway getting chased by the dementors into a lift, closing the door just before the dementors got in. We stood flat against the wall away from the dementors hands trying to grab us. The dementors stopped and I could feel the sudden feeling of all my happiness getting drained out from me. I was unable to move as it felt like my soul was being sucked out.
"Expecto Patronum!" Harry casted chasing all the dementors away. The lift began moving again and the effects of my polyjuice potion wore out completely as well. By this time, Hermione's also wore out. The lift stopped in the middle of busy crowds of witches and wizards. We hesitated before going out knowing our presence would cause chaos inside the ministry. No one seemed to care yet as we walked past.
"Mary, go home. Get the kids. I'll meet you there. We have to get out of the country, understand?" Ron said stopping to talk to Mary, "Mary, do as I say," As Ron finished his sentence, Mary jumped up, kissing him. Harry, Hermione, and I all furrowed our eyebrows in disbelief, continuing to motion for him to hurry.
"Mary?" Reg Cattermole called out standing in his underwear and a white tank top, "Who's that?" Mary looked back at Ron, confused, to see the potion's effects completely wore off.
"Long story. Nice meeting you," Ron said running towards us.
"It's Harry Potter," A man yelled drawing attention to us, "It's Harry. Harry Potter."
"There he is, get him! Get him! Stop him!" Multiple guards came running at us as Yaxley too came up from the lifts. Harry grabbed my hand pulling me with him and running back out to the floo powder stations. Yaxley began shooting explosive spells at us. I quickly drew out my wand shooting a spell at the pile of wanted posters and exploding them, stopping the guards from chasing us. Yaxley was unbothered and continued stomping his way towards us. The floo powder stations began closing one by one causing us to run further down.
"Expellliarmus!" Harry shot a spell at Yaxley, disarming him.We jumped into the last floo powder station and I could see our bodies twisting and our destinations changing until we landed at a strange forest. My ears were ringing and my head had a sharp pain, just beside me was the locket. I quickly grabbed it and walked over to Harry, helping him up.
"Oh, my God," We looked over towards Hermione kneeling beside Ron, "Harry. Harry, quickly, in my bag. There's a bottle labeled Essence of Dittany," Hermione said desperately taking Ron's shirt off. I gasped covering my mouth at the sight of Ron's severely injured arm. He was seizing and groaning out in pain. "Quickly!" Hermione yelled.
"Accio Dittany," Harry said grabbing the bottle out of Hermione's purse.
"Unstopper it," Hermione said.
"Hermione, his arm-"
"I know, just do it!" Harry didn't wait any longer and handed her the opened bottle, "Okay, it's gonna sting a little bit," Hermione said dripping droplets of the essence onto Ron's arm.
"What happened? I thought we meant...
"To be going back to Grimmauld Place. We were. We were. It's all right. One more, one more," She interrupted Harry continuing to drop droplets onto his cut, "We were there, we were there, but Yaxley had hold of me, and I... I knew once he'd seen where we were, we couldn't stay so I brought us here but Ron got splinched," She took a deep breath watching the cut seal itself, "It's all right."
I got up, drawing my wand and pointing it to the air. Now I could use all the protection charms I read in the book Dumbledore gave me. "Protego Totalum. Salvio Hexia."
"What are you doing?" Harry asked walking up beside me.
"Protective enchantments. Read them from Dumbledore's book."
"You can get going on the tent," Hermione said taking deep breaths after deep breaths.
"Tent? Where am I supposed to find a tent?"
"Check her purse Harry," I said getting back to using the protective charms. "Repello Muggletum. Muffliato."
~***~
"You first," Hermione said looking at the locket on the floor. I stood by Ron's side with my hand on his shoulder with my wand tightly in my hand.
"Dissendium," Harry casted a spell at the locket making it bounce up into the air. We all walked over towards it to see nothing had happened to it and it was still perfectly fine.
"Incendio," Hermione casted a spell at it lighting it on fire. The locket wasn't damaged at all, it didn't even have a scratch.
"Expulso," I casted a spell at it, again not damaging it at all.
"Diffindo. Reducto," Harry grew noticeably frustrated shooting nonverbal spells at the locket. The locket bounced around, still not damaged at all. Harry soon gave up and walked over picking up the locket and putting it around his neck.
"What are you doing?" Hermione asked.
"We have to keep it safe until we find out how to destroy it," Harry replied.
"Seems strange, mate. Dumbledore sends you off to find all these Horcruxes, but doesn't tell you how to destroy them. Doesn't that bother you?" Ron said.

Fallout: Vault X
An original novel set in the Fallout universe, written to be accessible to all, featuring unique people and places. Vol.II. out now Fallout: Vault X tells the story of John. A vault dweller, who spent every day of his twenty five years underground. Like his father, and his father before him. Proud to live in the last remaining bastion of humanity, all that survived The Great War of the atomic age. Hidden deep below the surface of the earth, toiling under brutal conditions. Year after year, decade upon decade. All to expand into the natural cave system the Vault occupied, building for the future. However, John knew what his forefathers did not, that everything he’d been taught was a lie. After finishing school at the age of ten, John received his standard issue pipboy. An arm mounted personal computer, worn by everyone in the Vault. Used to coordinate the relentless pace of expansion, needed to work as an apprentice. To learn the craft that would be his life’s work. A noble calling to ensure a future for all that remained of the human race. A quirk of fate saw John equipped not with the crude, clunky, pipboy model his father wore. That almost everyone around him wore. His looked smaller, sleeker, finished in a jet black sheen. And capable of doing far more than its drab counterparts. The world above had been ravaged by atomic flames, yet life clung to its bones. The Red Valley fared better than most in the century since the bombs fell. The clean water and rich soil protected by rolling hills. All spared from direct strikes, for the most part. Life survived here. Trees spawned from charred ground, misshapen, green leaves turned red. Along with simple crops, grown wild at first, then cultivated by the survivors. The scavengers of the old world were inventive, hardy people. All determined to rebuild in the ruins of a world they never knew. In the decades that passed settlements emerged. They grew, spreading along the valley floor. Reclaiming the pre-war remnants of the once industrialised heartland. Salvaging the robotic wonders of a bygone age to build their walls and work their fields. To protect them in the dark of the wasteland. But such things are uncommon in this world, and the rarer something is, the greater its value. And the worth of pre-war technology had not gone unnoticed. The last, real, power in this world rested in the mechanised hands of The Brotherhood of Steel. Forged from the mortally wounded old world military. The Brotherhood used its access to the weapons made for a conflict no one won to strike out into the wastes. Men and women were equipped with advanced armour, aerial transportation, high grade weaponry. Accompanied by the training, strength, and will, to put them to use. They established chapters and set up outputs far and wide. All dedicated to a single purpose. To ensure the technology left abandoned by its long dead creators didn’t fall into the wrong hands. Namely, any hands that were not their own. This is the world John escaped into. A place of horrors brought forth from atomic fire. A place where survival meant battling against the darkness. Fighting a war each day to get to the next. And war...war never changes

Leveling Up Is Better Than Reality
If you've ever been called a slacker, you know, it's not that you're lazy, it's just that you're not interested. Your values don't allow you to work hard as you wish to live in a heaven-like world where you don't have to do anything. As Gandhi said, ""Be the change you wish to see in the world...'' Wise words indeed. This story's about lazy- I mean an idealist hero named Zellin living in an RPG-like world. I'm going to deem this work as PG-13, but you never know...
