《'Granger' Family Reunion》The 14th

They kept going throughout the entire night, disregarding the 'beauty sleep' they had once complained about missing, up until their plan was complete. It was the perfect revenge plan.
What could go wrong?
*
When Hermione woke the next her morning, her first thought was on Scorpius. She still hadn't forgotten the fear she felt when he was 'missing'. Due to this unfortunate event, Hermione had checked on Scorpius first thing in the morning every day since. Since she had usually found him in the same spot she left him in, she was expecting to see him again today. But, as they say, 'Expect The Unexpected'.
*
"What's wrong?" cried Draco after he and Blaise rushed into the room as they heard Hermione scream. Only to find her gasping our sobs and pointing to a now empty bed.
"He...He's gone!" Hermione exclaiming, trying and failing to hold back tears, "I...I...I even checked outside." She continued before bursting into tears.
Draco immediately ran to her side and cradled her in his arms before questioning Blaise, who had turned quite white, if he was OK.
"No..." He muttered, looking pale, "I thought I saw Sheila and Madison come in this room last night, but I thought it was a bad dream."
"You idiot!" screeched Hermione, "Now my baby is gone!" Her hand shakily held up her wand as she yelled-
"Wait!" Blaise screamed, "We have the upper hand! Sheila and Madison don't know that we know that they took him. They also don't know that you are the smartest witch of your generation and we are both wizards."
"You're right." Hermione murmured, lowering her wand whilst she wiped tears off of her face, "They don't know who they are dealing with. And I'll deal with you later. Does it look like I've been crying?"

"No." Blaise and Draco answered in unison, truthfully.
"Right." She stood up. "Let's show them exactly what we are made of."
*
"Hi, dearest cousin!" Sheila smiled, angelically, as it took all over Hermione's (and some of Draco's) willpower not to smite her there and then.
"Where is that spoiled brat of yours. Scorpion? Was that his name?" Sheila continued, smirking.
Hermione took a deep breath and answered, "Actually, he felt really tired and didn't want to come down here this morning. I left a baby monitor in his room." She smiled, ignoring Draco muttering about what the heck a baby monitor was. Ignoring Blaise giggling about Sheila's face. Ignoring everything but her cousin standing before her.
"How...But we-" Madison started, before stopping abruptly as Sheila stood on her foot.
"Yes?" Hermione's adopted mum inquired, knowing fully well what was going on.
"We...We wanted to see him." Sheila forced a grin that looked more like a grimace than a smile.
"Sure." Draco muttered, leading Hermione's shaking body to a chair as murmured words of encouragement to Hermione.
Blaise, on the other hand, was glaring at Sheila and was reaching for his wand in his pocket. Fortunately, Draco caught on to what he was going to do and stopped him before he exposed the world of magic right there and then. It was always a hassle to obliviate a large crowd.
"After breakfast." Draco promised. Blaise
and Hermione readily agreed, knowing that Draco was just as angry as them.
*
"Are you sure they are in the massage rooms?" Blaise whispered.
"Of course." Draco said, laughing.
Hermione muttered, "Here they are," as both Draco and Blaise immediately turned to the doorway. Hermione silently drew her wand out, preparing to just jinx them with a simple leg binding curse, when Blaise stormed out of their hiding place to confront them.

"What. An. Idiot." Hermione whispered.
*
"Where is Scorpius?" Blaise yelled, frightening the girls.
"Security!" Sheila screeched, as men raced around the corner before halting as they recognised their boss coming up from behind Blaise.
"I'm afraid that won't be necessary." Draco said, calmly.
"Not yet, anyways." Hermione muttered, joining Draco.
"Is there a problem?" Draco asked, knowing full well what the problem was.
"Yes. Your 'brother-in-law' just screamed at us."
"Well-" Draco started.
"He won't be the only one," screamed Hermione, "Where is he? WHERE IS MY SON?"
Sheila and Madison both whimpered in shock as Hermione summoned all her anger. They would not take advantage of her. They had never seen her angry.
She thought of the times Sheila and Madison laughed at her for her teeth. She thought of the time they mocked her scar. She thought of the time they stole her clothes. She thought of all this and more. She channelled all of her anger, and terrified everyone.
"In...in the girls bathroom." Madison whispered, eventually.
"WHAT?" screeched Hermione as it took all of Draco's and Blaise's combined strength to pull her away.
*
"Scorpius?" Hermione called, having had freshened up a bit on the way there, as Draco and Blaise insisted.
"Mumma?" answered Scorpius as he ran into her open arms.
"Oh, thank Merlin you're OK!" Hermione sighed in relief, "Now let's go meet Daddy and -"
"UNCLE BWAISE!"
"Yes." Hermione laughed, "Uncle 'Bwaise'"

The Girl from the Mountain
Alexandra Bedford is a weapon, a young woman with telekinetic powers capable of leveling entire cities, born to fight in the desolate remains of post-apocalyptic North America. There is only one problem: she may be losing control of her abilities. Sixteen years after a global pandemic devastated the earth’s population, the lines in the old United States have been drawn between the Cheyenne Directorate in Colorado and the New England Alliance on the East Coast. The Directorate, of which Alexandra is a part, is a small but powerful organization dedicated to returning the country to its former glory. However, when a diplomatic mission to the New England Alliance goes wrong, Alexandra finds herself at the center of a bloody civil war. Battles are fought on the old highways and in dilapidated towns and once-great cities. And as the conflict escalates, all of North America faces the threat of being burnt away by nuclear fire. Against this backdrop of war, Alexandra tries to uncover the long-hidden secrets behind the plague, her abilities, and the two men fighting to decide the fate of the United States - Henry Bedford, Alexandra's father and leader of the Directorate, and John Martin, the mysterious figure at the heart of the New England Alliance who may hold the key to everything she seeks. None of this will matter, however, unless Alexandra can prevent the power growing inside her from taking over and consuming the very world she is fighting to save. Author's Notes: I appreciate you taking a look at my novel, The Girl from the Mountain. If you're a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction, military thrillers, and/or cosmic horror, I think you'll enjoy this story. I completed the novel's first draft back in 2011 and made significant changes in 2016. Since then, I've more-or-less sat on the manuscript while working on other projects. Thanks to a bit of prodding, I've decided to send this story out into the wild with some touch-ups and additional revisions. I welcome any comments or criticisms, and I hope you enjoy The Girl from the Mountain!
