《'Granger' Family Reunion》The Second Ball On The Sixth Night

"If I didn't know better, I'd say she's a witch."
*
This time, Hermione, Draco, Scorpius, and Blaise sat at the table as the older Zabinis hid their age very well as they gracefully waltzed around the dance floor. As everyone else felt very much intimidated by them, they pretty much had the music and floor to themselves. This would've bothered Sheila, but she had more important things to worry about, tonight.
"Sheila, can't this wait for tomorrow? I'm hungry and want to eat." Madeline whined.
"Madeline. We've been through this. Hermione has to let her guard down soon. We have to be there when she does." Sheila whispered back, staring at Hermione's table but pretending to look at a menu.
"You know there's no such thing as magic, right?"
"I wouldn't bet on it." Sheila muttered under her breath.
*
Meanwhile, Hermione and Draco had noticed Sheila staring at their table but didn't think much of it. After all, they didn't realise that she overheard their conversation with her parents.
So, the had noticed Sheila's quite obvious glares and glances, but they just assumed she was just being her usual grumpy self. So they ignored her.
Blaise, once again had brought Scorpio to the food table where they stayed the rest of the evening.
The older Zabini's finally sat down beside their daughter and let other people get up and start to dance as a new pop song came on. Draco shook his head and muttered "Muggle music" under his breath, only to be playfully slapped by Hermione.
"So." Hermione's mum lowered her voice, "Scorpio is going to Hogwarts?"
"Oh! Yes!" Hermione replies joyfully, the memories of that morning flooding into her mind as she retold the story with her parents sighing and laughing at just the right parts.

However, Sheila immediately started to get suspicious the moment Hermione's mum lowered her voice and she slowly crept towards their table just in time for her to hear the part of Scorpio's first display of accidental magic. Wait. What?
No one seemed bothered by the fact that she had just said Scorpio showed signs of magic, in fact Draco even looked ... proud? And it didn't look like they were joking.
She glanced over to the food table where Blaise and Scorpio were. They seemed normal - wait. Was that a stick in his pocket? He saw her looking and self-consciously turned away to face Scorpio once more.
But why would he carry a stick in his pocket unless - it was a stick. It was a wand.
So magic was real. And Hermione and her family were living proof.
Unfortunately for Sheila, Madeline had left to get food before the conversation even started. So now she had no way to prove it.
If she went and told everyone, they would think she was crazy and Hermione would probably erase her memory or something.
No.
She had to prove it herself. Alone.
Then she realised. What if she caught Hermione admitting she was a witch on tape! Of course, this would require Sheila to ... "stalk" them for a while. But to get Hermione humiliated in front of everyone, just as Hermione humiliated her at the restaurant, it was a price she was willing to pay.
She was going to prove that Hermione was a witch, even if it was the last thing she does.

Chronicles Of The Storylord: 12th Chronicle - Origin
Twelve souls were chosen to expand into the void surrounding the known universe(s), and were given a grace period in which they would experience a relatively safe expansion of their domains. Once that period is up, however, they are free to interact with each other...and what lurks in the depths of the Abyss, the Void, and the Primordial Chaos. I am the 12th soul, but I am not as those others are, for I am merely a shard. My purpose: begin the Tale anew. For I am the Storylord, and I am the Tale. The Tale is all, and all is the Tale, yet the Tale is myself, for I am all in my domain. This is my story, the saga of many, the legend… of the Tale. Just remember this: “This world is but a story, and all the stories are true...” This story is in the same general multiverse as RE: Deity by lightningwarrior21, but will be almost completely separate except in a few chapters. I have permission from him to use his base multiverse, and you should go check out his fiction, it’s really good. http://royalroadl.com/fiction/9597 This ‘fiction’ will be updated sporadically, so don’t expect much of a steady stream of chapters. (I’ll try to do one chapter a week, but no promises.) Suggestions on how to improve this universe helps with the management, so comments are welcome, as are Grammar Nazis. I’ve had this fiction mostly as scattered notes in my google drive, and only recently had enough time to actually put it together, like I promised lightning back in January. (Writer’s block and schoolwork do not mix well.) The cover is not owned by me, I found the image on google images. Anyway, I’ll be back yesterday… or was that tomorrow? (I really need to get that damn causality generator fixed, me-damnit!) See ya!

Killing Roar: Part 2: Mortal Mewling
Part 2 - Mortal Mewling: Perry's been living his dream in the guard, fighting spike feeders, proving himself to be a valuable member of the community, but his many concerns linger, weighing him down with more questions and regrets. The strange event within the dungeon. The rise of the prey-movement. The critical mass of spike feeders looming around the corner. Things have been going wrong for Titan City, and it feels like they're only going to get worse. Can he help save what he's worked for or will it all fall to ruin? Part 1 - Killing Roar: When Perry was blessed with a platypus beast soul, he thought his chances of joining the village guard were over. No one had every heard of a platypus. It seemed like an obvious prey soul, given it wasn't in the village's records. Only the strongest could be part of the village guard. He thought that would never get the chance to defend the village from the spike feeders, the deadly creatures jutting out with hazardous spikes haphazardly all over. Only predator beast souls were given the requisite training and allowed to join the village guard. Perry just didn't meet their criteria. He was also wrong.Soon Perry will live out his wildest dreams and more, as he scales the rankings of beast soul mastery, fights innumerable dangerous spike feeders and solves mysteries related to the origin of beast souls and spike feeders. And maybe, just maybe, he'll even get to join the city guard. Genre-wise, Mortal Mewling is a GameLit story (light on the GameLit) focused on action and adventure. The Gore tag is there more as a precaution, rather than a promise to keep producing gory words. Mortal Mewling is a bit of a slow burn in terms of start, scale and capacity of the protagonist. Book 2... has now begun! Updates Monday and Thursday
