the sun shone brightly through the windows of the dark room. it made sense how it was dusty, nobody had been there in ages. everything was in place, just like it looked like before
the boy huffed and made his way to the bed, plopping down.
the sunshine shone on his face and highlighted his features, making him look like the main character. the miserable main character.
"hyunjin!"
he shot up from his position only to find seungmin panting at the doorframe.
"wh-what are you-" the boy took his time to catch his breath as hyunjin just watched
"why are you here, hyun?" seungmin finally said and made his way next to hyunjin
"i miss her.." hyunjin sighed as he looked around his mother's room once more
"i miss her and dad so much"
seungmin's eyes softened as he grabbed hyunjin's hand and stroked his knuckles in a comforting manner
"you know you still have haneul. you havs me too, you have the rest. we're all here for you, we're all your family"
hyunjin remained silent for a while before finally speaking
"i don't want to believe it too, seungmin"
seungmin was confused. "believe what?"
"that jaehoon was the one who.." hyunjin sighed and turned to look at the vanity to his right to avoid seungmin's gaze
but he wished he didn't. his eyes only widened as he eyed the note which lay there. getting more confused, seungmin followed his boyfriend's gaze
"is that?"
the taller got up in a blink of an eye and reached for the letter which read 'suicide letter'
a few days had passed since the incident.
the twins were disappointed.
and yet, they were doing better.
they had great people by their sides who supported them, people who loved them, people who made it known that they were there for them

"you know what the craziest thing about the past few days was?" haneul said and turned to minho whose eyes were fixated on the night sky as the two star gazed on the roof of the convenience store
"are you gonna say something cheesy like, 'i fell for you' or something?" the boy chuckled and turned to his left to lock eyes with the girl who simply shook her head
"no, the fact that i was able to get a good score in the finals despite going through the toughest possible time in my life"
minho scoffed and looked back at the night sky. his reaction made haneul chuckle and elbow his side
"idiot, i was talking about the craziest thing, not the best thing which of course is you"
minho tried hard to not plaster a wide smile on his face but he couldn't help it.
"you dumbass, I'm so lucky to have you"

Summoner's Journey
[Before you read - the story is officially dead. The reasons behind it are posted in the last chapter.] In a magic world on the verge of an industrial revolution, Ari Ragnarsson must uncover the truth behind his parents' disappearance. They were part of an organization known as the Order, which protects mankind from various threats - both human and supernatural. Now, after Ari's brands finally manifest, he leaves the safety of his village and travels to the continent. Strength is all that matters in this world and he must learn how to control his powers. There, he meets a man from another world, who's being hunted for merely existing. Their fates become intertwined, but not in a way either of them would appreciate. Author's note (contains minor non-story related spoilers about the MC and setting) This is a progression fantasy with LITRPG elements sprinkled on top. The main character is not a spellsword, but a summoner/support mage hybrid. Since he wasn't ambushed by a random god, there's no cheat item/spell and he has to rely on his skills and wits to survive in a world full of monsters. The story tries to show the moment when the old starts to be replaced by the new, with a healthy dose of magic and a little steampunk in the background. Also, it revolves around a party dynamic akin to RPG sessions. No health/mana bars. Numbers are secondary and the LITRPG elements focus more on classes/spells/runes and their evolutions. Tables are sparse at the beginning, but from chapter 7 onwards they appear more often. Still, I won't be copy-pasting the whole character sheet dozens of times per chapter.
