《A great change》Chapter 12.

After calling Sidra, I waited outside the emergency room. It will take them at least one hour to come because we are on the other side of the city and in case of traffic, it will take them more than an hour.
The wind of strange feeling blew through me. I was not able to get what it was, I neither felt sad nor happy, but it was something, something I could not figure out. This was a strange one. I saw nurses storming in and out of the door, I tried to ask them about her situation but it was in vain.
I buried my face in my palms and recalled the whole event, everything went in a blur. My watch showed me I am here for the past ten minutes, but it felt thousand years. After fifteen minutes, a doctor came out "Is she fine?" I asked him.
He looked at me like I came from another planet "Follow me" He said and entered a room that I assumed to be his consulting room, I followed him like a puppy. I repeated the same question but this time fear filled my words. It's the fact, right? Doctors usually talk separately only when something goes wrong.
"I will tell you, but first let me clean your wound' He said and placed some sort of antiseptic on my wound, which I was unaware of.
It was very kind of him but I want to know about her. I want to know about the girl, who affected my sleep, my day, and my whole actions from day one. I know what I'm thinking is wrong, but I want to know about her. I closed my eyes burying my whole strange feeling inside and asked "How is she?"
He applied the band-aid to my forehead and made his way to his chair. "She had a panic attack, but now she is fine and will regain consciousness in a few minutes"

His last words relieved me. I let out a deep breath which I was holding for so long. "Are you from her family?" the doctor asked. I asked the same question to myself before answering him "A family friend" I said still not satisfied with my reply.
"Oh! Fill the formalities in the reception and you can meet her" He said. I thanked him and moved out.
I went to the reception, signed a few papers, and did all the formalities they asked for. "Sir, the patient has been shifted to the ward, room no.6 on the first floor," the receptionist said looking through the computer.
I thanked her and took the elevator to reach the room. "She has regained her senses, you can see her now," said the nurse.
I stood outside thinking to go or wait for others. What should I talk to her about? How should I begin? The questions were rolling in my mind, my phone rang caller ID indicating Mom.
"Assalamualikum" I greeted her.
"Walaikumassalam beta. What has happened? How is Aimen? Are you fine?" Mom showered me with questions.
"Whoa.....whoa.....hold on," I said. "Yeah! She is fine. I am fine and as for your first question it is a long story, will tell it later"
"Have you informed her family?" I asked already knowing the answer.
"Yes, I have. It will take us forty-five minutes to reach there. Let me inform her mother that Aimen is fine now. Will meet her there. Call me if you need something. Allah Hafiz." She ended the call after giving a long piece of advice. Typical mother.
I grabbed the huge courage, which I had lost at the thought of meeting Aimen. I twisted the door knob "Hey!" I said once I stood in. Can't a better word come out of my mouth?

I looked around and found myself in a hospital. Several things were attached to my hand, I heard continuous beeps of a machine. Am I that serious? I rejected the most dangerous part of today and remembered the rest. Oops! The sleepover. Maryam and Safa would kill me. Especially Maryam, the biggest psychopath, it is better to be kidnapped by Imran rather than face Maryam.
"Hey!" came a voice from the door and the source of it was Rehan, my savior. He is so, what do they say? Yeah, "Hot".
Stop admiring him say something and look down or vice versa. "Hey!" I said in the same tone as his.
"You okay?" He asked pulling a chair far from me. This is manners Aimen, learn a few instead of staring at him.
"Fine. Are you okay?" I asked looking at the band-aid.
He gave a small chuckle. Oh my God, I'm gonna have another panic attack, his smile...... my thoughts were cut by his words "The one who is in the hospital bed is asking me this question"
"May I ask you something?" He asked.
I nod my head saying yes. "Who was that man?"
A small part of my mind dreaded that it would come. I took a deep breath. I should tell him.

The Last Journey
A slice of life litrpg story... or is it? It's burning slow, though. Moving on: War comes with a great cost. Lives and time wasted for most part. One could either be run with sword, be poisoned, be bowed, and sometimes meet their end with just a tiny speck of wood. With magic, it becomes even more colorful. From lightning, to worse poison, to hovering rocks, to weird bladed leaves, to whipping roots, and to a lot more odd things easily reasoned with magic. A wonderful creation. But once used to something more than wonder, more than tricks to gather laughs, it becomes worse. War becomes worse. For there is not only blood to be spilled. A particular town almost met the same end. Soldiers geared with swrords and bows came with mounts. Horses burning lush grasses as it cracked boulders and the soil alike with every step. The kind that only war ones could ever do. Even strange wheeled creations that oozed danger were towed, loaded with something meant to destroy. But not once had they acted upon what such devices should've done, nor what an an army is supposed to do. Siege never occurred, as much as a command to war. No. Magic existed so a simple little fire is all the worth the town has. No sword drawn, no arrows nocked, nothing. Just some mana spent and through the ash they march. That was how Nudius saw her end. It came not even as a surprise. She didn't have the moment to fully register what occurred before she found herself in an empty dark space. Life lost, time spent. All from a fire that had not even touched her. But she knew very well that it was magic. Something she wished to have and strived for to have. Yet it seemed that none of it would matter now. Nudius was well aware of what the color around meant, of the odd situation, of the unfeeling state of her being. It was death and that was it. She didn't have to worry or dream further. Although there wasn't what she truly wanted in what death to her is, but at least, Nudius was comforted to what she believed death is. Rest. But little did she know there's something more than that empty space. It wasn't only the promise of rest, but was also more than she could ever hope for. Another chance at life. Another chance to dream. ***Tags are there just in case. You never know! Umm... HI-MI-TSU. Story blurb+: This is slow burn, quite slice of life story about a girl learning magic. All the while as she fatten herself up. So yeah, progression fantasy. But there's Litrpg! Numbers! Magic! Spells! And of course! There's something more. But read on ahead, please. Oh yes. Plot! There is, too. Disclaimer: The cover isn't made by me. Just layered it with a text. I got it from a free website, if I correctly recall. I'll see to it. (Haven't worked on it.)
