We came back home with the pills and I gave Kevin one before it had time to break out.
“Thank you, babe”, Kevin smiled and passed me. “I’ll go wash this down with water. Hopefully it helps, because I’m starting to feel the pain in my lower body. I had to change into sweatpants. Now, before I give too much details, you have to excuse me because I have to swallow this.”
I smiled. There he was, the Kevin I knew.
“Y/N, Y/N, Y/N!” Haknyeon shouted as he ran and hid behind me. “Eric is trying to kill me!”
Eric came walking calmly towards us, darkness in his eyes. He tried to hit Haknyeon who had taken shelter behind me, but I caught his arm.
“Hold up, kitty, what are you doing?”
Eric clenched his jaw. I knew he liked that nickname. Maybe he liked it a little too much. To everyone else, he was a dangerous puma, but to me he was a little kitten that wanted my very best.
“Y/N, no nicknames now”, Eric sighed and shut his eyes, trying to stay mad.
“Why are you trying to kill Haknyeon?” I wondered.
“You know that I like to keep things neat, right, hm?”
“Yes.”
“He messed up the whole kitchen! He can’t even cook, for fuck sake!”
I pulled Haknyeon out from behind me and pushed him in the direction of the kitchen. “Go clean. Now.”
He pouted and walked away. I turned to Eric who smirked.
“What, kitty?” I sighed in annoyance.
“You’re hot when you’re angry.”
“Oh, for fuck sake.”

Later that day when I sat on the couch, Kevin came with a blanket, dressed in his pajamas and sat down beside me. His eyes were blank, probably from crying and his ears sloaked.

“Hey, foxie, what is it?” I asked and wiped his tears with my thumb. “Is the heat taking a toll on you?”
He nodded. “I-I don’t usually get this emotional...but...but…”
“Calm down, I don’t even recognize you. You’re usually flirty and this is so not you.”
“Don’t you think I know that?!” With that, he started crying again.
“Ah, Kevin…”
“Kevin is crying?” Jacob asked as he came into the living room.
“Yes. Yes, he is”, I sighed. “Jacob, you take care of Kevin and I’ll go see what the others are up to. Taking care of eleven at a time is hard work.”
“You don’t regret taking us in...do you?” Jacob asked. “I know we can be quite annoying.”
“Never. Sure, you all make me annoyed and stuff, but you’re now a part of my family.”
“Aw, we’re a part of a family”, Kevin sobbed from the couch.
“Kevin, stop crying”, Jacob chuckled and rubbed his back before turning to me. “What were there in those pills?”
“It said that the pain that comes with a hybrids sexual frustration would be taken away, but that it would replace those hormones with emotional hormones...something like that.”
“O-Oh.”
