《The Last Hybrid》10-New House

I opened the door to the house and stepped inside.
"Grandma!" I called out.
"I'm in the kitchen." She said back.
I went to the kitchen and placed the jar on the counter.
She was cooking.
"You have to tell me when you're going out, grandma."
"Honey, I can take care of myself."
"I know that, but I get worried about you."
She stopped what she was doing and didn't say anything.
"Grandma, you know you are sick, but you are too stubborn to admit it."
She turned off the stove and turned to me.
"Rosie, I want you to go back to your pack."
"What?" My eyebrows furrowed.
"I want you to go back with your mate, back with your pack. Stop worrying about me."
"I can't leave you. Not now."
"Then I'll go with you."
"What about your animals?"
"They can come. I'll rent a house nearby."
"Are you sure? You want to leave your house?"
"No, I want you to go back."
"I am not going anywhere without you."
"Which is why I am coming with you now."
"Ok. But I am only going back with you."
She smiled.
I heard small footsteps from the stairs.
Quincy was walking down the stairs.
"Did you talk to Jonathan?" I asked him.
"Um," His ears fell around his head.
I narrowed my eyes at him. "What did you do?"
"What you told me to do!" He said terrified.
"So where is he? And why are you scared to tell me?"
"So, we talked, and then he left."
"How did he leave?"
"He jumped out the window."
"Did he say where he was going?" I asked calmly

He shook his wolf head no.
I sighed and stormed to my bedroom.
I sat on my bed and hugged my pillow.
I can't do anything.
I left him and now he left me.
I can't even cry about it.

I felt myself being shook in my sleep.
I slowly opened my eyes and saw my grandma with a bowl in her hand.
"Hey, Sweetie." She set the bowl on my side table. "I brought you some of my famous soup."
"I'm not hungry." I just looked at the bowl.
"I know you're upset honey." She sat at the edge of the bed next to me.
"I'm not even allowed to be upset, grandma."
"What do you mean?"
"I left him already, and now he has left me. I am not allowed to be upset."
"Of course you are."
"No, I can't. This is payback. I can't be upset because this is how he felt when I left."
"Well, what if he comes back?"
"I don't think he will."
"What happened between you two?"
"We fought. He wanted me to go back with him, to the pack but I was thinking about you. I couldn't leave you, so I left the house to go look for you."
"Sweetie you can't base your decisions off me. You have to stop thinking about me and start thinking about you."
"How can I do that when your health is the way it is? I can't lose you."
I sat up.
She brought me into a side hug.
"You won't lose me. Not now or anytime soon."
"I can't help but feel afraid. And now it feels like I lost my mate for good this time."
"Are you sure?"

I shrugged. "I've always been dramatic. I get it from my mother." I mumbled the last part.
"First of all, everyone in our family is dramatic, second of all, he will come back. He always does."
"How do you know?"
"He's at the door."
My eyes widened as I looked at my door.
He was leaning against the door frame awkwardly.
My grandma got up from the bed and walked up to him.
"Watch what you say this time boy." She told him.
"Yes, Ma'am." He nodded.
My grandma left the room.
I laid my head back down on my pillow and avoided eye contact.
I felt the bed dip.
He was sitting in the same spot that my grandma was sitting.
"Why are you back?" I asked. "Your pack needs you."
"It's your pack too." He answered.
I didn't say anything.
"I had to go back. You know that." He said.
"I knew that but I expected you to stay there."
"I am not going to stay there without you."
I didn't say anything.
"You're not going to say anything?" He spoke.
"What do you want me to say?"
"I don't know. come back with me. Everyone misses you."
"I already told you I can't go back. I'm pretty sure Quincy already explained to you why."
I buried my face in my pillow.
"I know that. Which is the reason I went back."
I lifted my head and looked at him in confusion.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"I was able to get your grandma a house near the pack house."
My eyebrows furrowed.
He continued. "If she is willing to, she can move in right away."
"Have you asked her?"
"No, but-"
"Well come on, lazy ass!"
I grabbed his hand and rushed down the stairs.
My grandma was in the kitchen.
"Careful, You're going to fall down the stairs." She said .
"Doesn't matter this is important." I said.
"Ok, calm down young lady. What's happening?"
I looked at Jonathan.
He was looking around the room.
"Jonathan!" I snapped him out of his trance.
He jumped in fear. "What?"
"Tell her!"
He nodded in understanding.
"The thing is, I left to check up on my pack, and I got you a house near the pack house, so you can stay there if you want."
"What?" Her eyes widened.
"There is plenty of room for your animals and you can move in right away."
"You didn't have to do that sweetie." She said.
"But I wanted to. You're a part of my pack too."
My grandma looked like she was about to cry.
She brought Jonathan into a hug.
"So grandma," I spoke. "Does that mean, we are going back? Both of us?"
"Yes, sweetie. Go on upstairs and start packing your stuff."
I smiled wide.
My smile fell as I realized something.
"Rosie, what's wrong?" Jonathan asked.
"Um, nothing. I just have to go somewhere real fast." I answered.
I ran out the door before he could say anything else.
I ran out of the driveway until I heard his voice again.
"Rosie!" He called out my name.
I stopped in my tracks and turned around.
"What?" I spoke.
Before I knew it he was in front of me and his lips were on mine.
I closed my eyes and kissed him back.
He pulled away.
"Now you can go." He smirked before going back into the house.
