《HYBRID》Hybrid [Part 19]

Ethan has laid there for days now and you haven't left his side. You're still in your hybrid skin, but that doesn't bother you. All you can think about is that night, when you turned and hurt him.
"It’s not your fault." Adam says when he walks in
“Of course it's my fault, I hit him.”
"You had no choice, he was attacking you." Adam puts his hand on your shoulder to comfort you, but you shake it off. You stand up and walk into the bathroom and splashes some water on your face. Then you see your reflection again. You hit the mirror and walk out
"You should eat something, you've been here for days."
"Not hungry." You say and sit down by Ethan's side again.
"Irish..."
"NOT HUNGRY!!!" You yell and Adam jumps and walk out.
"Please don't yell." You here someone say and you look down.
Ethan opens his eyes and looks at you. At first he is suprised because he doesn't recognize you, then he smiles. "So that's what a hybrid looks like."
You look down. "I am so sorry Ethan. I didn't mean to hurt you."
"Why are you sorry? I was the one attacking you guys"
Ethan takes your hand and strokes it. "I'll be fine, I tend to heal fast."
His smile is kinda goofy and it makes you laugh.
"You should listen to Adam, so go eat." You let go of his hand and walk out to the kitchen. You are starving, and you eat Pancakes
Daniel comes rushing in. He sees you eating and drags you out of the kitchen. "You need to change back."He says and places you in front of a mirror.
"What? But I don't know how." You complain.

"Just try" He says and steps back
You give it a try, and another, and another.
"It's not working."
"Try!!"
"FINE!" You yell and you glare into the mirror. There you see your black skin fading away, your blue eyes are coming back along with your blonde hair. You stare at the mirror
"There, I am back. Now tell me why?"
"They’re after you, I just don't want them to find you."
"Too late." You and Daniel turn to Ethan, who's just left his room. "It won't be long before they're here."
"Can you move?" Daniel asks Ethan, who nods.
"Good, take Irish. I'll get Adam." Daniel walk over to Adam's room and Ethan grabs you and you two run outside.
"Where are we going?" You ask Ethan as you start to run into the forest.
"Somewhere safe." He speeds up and you can barely keep up with him.
Suddenly you hear "There they are!!!" you turn around and see a group of people running towards you and Ethan.
"Ethan? Who is that?"
Ethan grabs your hand and drags you further into the forest."Someone who wants you."
“Gee....that helps...”
"Let's just say if they catch us, I am in big trouble." Ethan says and runs even faster.
"Oh, vampires." You two stops by the lake and the waterfall, you remember it from the time Ethan showed you around. Ethan releases your hand and jumps into the water
The water is ice cold and you shiver. You see Ethan swimming towards the waterfall and you follow him. From the other side of the waterfall you can see the vampires looking for you. "Do you think they'll find us?" You whisper to Ethan.

"Maybe." You move closer to him.
"Aren't you still hurting from...you know, when I throwed you into that rock?"
Ethan smiles briefly. "As I said, I tend to heal fast." Suddenly the silence is broken and someone pushes Ethan away from you.
You look up and see a young man grinning. "Found you." He says and tries to grab you but he is knocked over by Adam, who flies into the waterfall. Several more vampires arrive and Adam and Ethan struggles to keep them off you.
"Sorry" You hear a familiar voice behind you, but before you can see who it is, you're knocked out. When you wake up, you're chained to the wall in a small cell. You look around trying to figure out where you are. "Hello?" you say and hopes that someone else is there

Leftover Apocalypse
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] This is a story about the newly-adult Calliope Smith having a terrible day that ends in her getting mysteriously teleported from Phoenix, Arizona to a fantasy world where her life is in constant danger. She considers this an upgrade. Someone evil is looking for her, and she doesn't know why. Someone who seems to know a lot about her has promised they'll help her, but she doesn't know who they are. All that matters to Callie is that magic is real and one way or another she's going to learn it. The end of the world is coming up, sure, but Callie won't need to worry about that. In fact, by the time she even finds out about it one of the doomsday devices will already be destroyed, and the authorities will be well on the way to dealing with the other one. It's fine. Everything will be smooth sailing. Almost certainly. Probably. Chapters are usually about 2500-3500 words, and the goal is to post 2-3 per week but I sometimes get busy or have some writers block. It's your standard portal fantasy / Isekai premise, but unlike some the main character's time on Earth and how she got pulled into another world will (eventually) be explored. Some slight GameLit-feeling stuff later, no menus or level-ups but there's something suspiciously like a skill tree when the magic system gets going. No number crunching, and while the main character will get to do some silly stuff she won't be a god like in some fics (and will in fact spend a lot of time being badly outclassed by her enemies). Some reader interaction, ranging from adding to the worldbuilding to occasionally making big important decisions about skill progression. Please note that the main character is flawed and impulsive, and will make some stupid decisions. That's part of the story, but I get that it's not for everyone. Trigger Warnings: Foster care system references, crappy parenting. Some mental health adjacent stuff, specifically the main character has some issues where she experiences varying levels of empathy and emotional vulnerability depending on the day (it's complicated and not meant to portray any real-world conditions). Occasional violence including mention of death and grievous bodily harm, but no detailed descriptions of gore.

Does Hell Have an Adventurers' Guild?
I have decided to try out a different style. I cannot say much at this point, the story is mostly fantasy/romance and will evolve as I go, but it will involve an "adventurers' guild" in a demonic setting. MC will be a reincarnator becoming a denizen of hell, I will add vital description as I go. Gore will be used with reason, some bad words here and there and severe explicit or traumatizing content will be announced in advance, but it will not be the focus of the work.
