able to get into contact with Mr. Giordano today at all?"
Nyla looked up from the meeting minutes she had been reviewing. "No why?"
"I've faxed a couple of documents, but nobody is responding." Hyeon admitted.
"Did you call the secretary? Or Vincent?"
Hyeon rolled her eyes. "I really hate calling her, she's such a bitch."
"Hyeon," Nyla admonished, but there was a small smile on her lips. "She's only rude to you because Darius made the idiotic mistake of praising your efficiency in front of her. It seems like she really took it personally."
Hyeon smiled from ear to ear. "I really am the best, aren't I?"
"You are." Nyla admitted.
"So, you'll be giving me a raise soon?" Hyeon asked hopefully.
Nyla laughed and shook her head. "That won't work."
Hyeon looked crescent fallen but Nyla knew it was partially a joke. "Tell you what, come to me after Christmas and we can talk about it."
Hyeon winked. "Can't wait."
"Contact Darius' office as well!" Nyla shouted at her retreating figure.
She heard Hyeon mumbling under her breath, but she was too far to hear what she had to say. The woman was probably still annoyed about having to contact Darius' secretary. Nyla continued working on her files. They had reopened the facility where the incident took place last week and she was personally overlooking all the safety measures. It seemed so far, everything was going smoothly, and they were about a month away from launching the vitamins.
Nyla wanted it to be ready in time for a New Year's launch so they could capitalize on the whole 'new year, new me' theme but Darius wanted it pushed till Valentine's Day so it could be a good gift for one's significant other. Nyla had told him if anyone gifted their partner vitamins on a day where chocolates and flowers were tradition, they might as well shoot themselves in the heart. The two of them had gone back and forth before Nyla winning the round.
She was really hopping that everything would be able to be complete on time.
"So, I got some scoop." Hyeon said appearing in the doorway with a tray of food.
Nyla looked at the heap of food on the plate and raised an eyebrow. "One would say you could more than a scoop."
Hyeon placed the plate of pasta in front of Nyla. "It seems like Mr. Hunk is officially out with the flu. He hasn't been in the office since yesterday. He was puking in the C-Suite bathroom yesterday."
Nyla lowered the bite she had been about to take and winced. "I didn't really need to know that while I was eating."
"Olivia was super bitchy about it as always. 'It's company policy, I can't give you confidential information'." Hyeon mimicked her. "Apparently, Vincent hasn't come into the office either, so things are pretty chaotic at G-Health."
Nyla felt a kernel of sadness for Darius. That man couldn't even be sick without things getting ugly. She was truly lucky to have an excellent team surrounding her that could pick up the pieces whenever she was gone. Which she rarely was anyways.

"What do you want me to do with the documents?"
Nyla pointed to an empty space in the corner of her desk, "Just leave them here."
Hyeon did so, leaving Nyla to eat her lunch in peace. She went through a couple of phone calls, attended division head meetings, and added more things to her schedule. By the time she was done everything, it was around seven o'clock. She was exhausted and just wanted to crawl into bed. However, the documents in the corner of her desk seemed to be glaring at her.
Sighing she picked them up before dialing the phone to Anthony. He picked up on the first ring.
"Can you pick up some chicken noodle soup from the place by the gym?"
"Are you sick again?"
Nyla shoved the various documents into her purse. "No, but a friend is."
"I'll be downstairs in twenty minutes." he promised.
True to his words, twenty minutes later the black sedan glided to the front of the glass doors. Nyla slipped into the back. "Can you drive me to Darius' place?"
Anthony craned his neck backward to get a good look at her. "Did I hear correctly; you want me to drop you off at Darius' condo?"
Nyla rolled her eyes. "You heard correctly, he's sick so I'm dropping off some soup."
"If that's what you kids are calling it these days..."
"I'm not lying! I was going to go home but the stupid documents made me feel guilty for the time that he took care of me when I was sick."
Anthony smiled in the rare-view mirror. Nyla ignored it and turned back to the documents at hand. Almost thirty minutes later, they arrived at a glistening condo building. "Is this the place?"
"According to my superior directional abilities, yes."
Nyla got out of the car suddenly nervous.
"You want me to wait up for you?"
Nyla thought about it. It was getting late. "No, it's okay. I don't know how bad he is. I might have to stick around to check on him."
Anthony looked as though he was about to say something else but closed his mouth on the last minute. "I'll pick you up from here tomorrow Ms. Malhotra."
Nyla nodded before entering the building and headed towards the elevator, only to be stopped by the doorman.
"Who are you here to see Miss?"
"Darius Giordano."
"I'm afraid I can't let you go without seeing his guest list. Mr. Giordano is quite particular about who he lets upstairs."
Nyla nodded. She didn't say much more because she knew that the doorman was doing his job. "Tell him that Nyla's here to see him."
The man went to the phone. Nyla awkwardly tapped her heels and she held the container of food in one hand, and her work items in the other.
"He say's its fine for you to come upstairs. He also told me to add you to the guest list, so you won't be stopped anymore." The doorman said, handing her a badge. "Just swipe this to gain access to penthouse."

Nyla thanked him and went towards the elevator. She stood silently and watched as the numbers blinked in red and she went higher and higher. Finally, when they were at the fortieth floor, the door slid open and she was immediately inside Darius' place.
She looked around, expecting to see crazy amount of gold furnishing and other insane designs that rich people preferred but she found that the place had a homey feel she didn't expect. The walls were covered with a taupe paneling that went alongside all the walls in a horizontal manner. The floor had dark hardwood panels and gorgeous light white furniture that pulled everything together.
"I'm here," she called out, imagining the place to echo but it didn't.
She heard another cough and the unmistakable sound of someone wrenching out their stomach. Placing the food on the dark marble counters of the kitchen, she followed the sound upstairs to the bathroom. Peering inside, she saw Darius huddled over the toilet. He was wearing grey sweatpants and a white t-shirt that was drenched with sweat. His hair was sticking up everywhere.
Nyla crossed the cool tiles and pushed his hair past his forehead. She made a disgusted face at the stench before flushing the toilet.
"You might be even more sick than I was."
Even in his fever induced haze, Darius gave her a glare. "This is all because of you. You made me sick!"
Nyla shrugged her shoulders, "I told you I would."
She helped him up of the floor and waited till he gargled his mouth. "Let's get you into bed."
Darius didn't argue with her much—showing Nyla how sick he was. His room wasn't overtly decorated. A carpet covered most of the floor and a giant bed was pushed against the wall. Two side tables lined up on each end of the bed and a small desk was placed facing the floor to ceiling windows.
Nyla helped him under the covers. She placed the back of her hand on his forehead and frowned. "You're still burning up. When did you last take medicine?"
"I don't know. I think it was two—wait maybe three hours ago."
"Well just try to get some sleep. I brought food but I don't think you'll be able to handle it right now."
Darius nodded and his eyes fluttered shut but she could still see the pain in them. She went back to the bathroom and grabbed a towel off the rack before soaking it in cold water. Then, she placed it on his forehead. A sigh of relief escaped his lips.
Nyla herself was exhausted but the suit and pants she was wearing was not comfortable. She walked into Darius' walk in closest, rummaging around for comfortable clothes. She pulled out a t-shirt, sweatpants, and an old Harvard sweatshirt. She changed clothes in the bathroom before checking in on Darius again. He was breathing pretty heavily so she swapped the towel once more and shut the lights.
Padding her feet across the thick rug, she stepped into the kitchen. She was feeling hungry, so she raided his fridge for food and took out a container of pasta. She warmed it up before taking a seat at the wooden table. High above, the noise of New York City couldn't be heard but she was able to get an excellent view of the Empire State building.
Darius' files were laid out on the coffee table in the living room, so she tided them up into a neat pile. Nyla was getting pretty sleepy and she knew she had to find a bed soon. Washing up the mess she'd created in the kitchen, she slowly opened the first door. It was an office—not an ideal place for a good night's rest.
The second room was bare and filled with more boxes. Nyla skipped that one as well. She knew the third room was Darius', so she went back in to hear him groaning in pain. Slipping onto the bed, she placed a good hand on his forehead.
"It's okay," she whispered, ruffling her fingers through his dark hair. "I'm here."
Nyla didn't know if he subconsciously leaned into her touch or if he was aware, but she remained there for some time until her one eyes began drooping. That's when she fell asleep.
♠♠♠♠♠♠
When Nyla woke up, she was shocked to see Darius' blue eyes already looking at her.
"What are you doing in my bed?"
"I think that's the question I should be asking."
Nyla looked around the room and realized that she was indeed in Darius' bed.
"I probably feel asleep while taking care of your weak ass."
Darius let out a smile before he burst into a coughing spree.
"Away from me, I can't afford to get sick." Nyla commanded him.
He gave her another glare, his blue eyes seeming lighter than they had yesterday. "I don't think it's possible for you to get sick since you gave me the flu!"
Nyla waved him off. "I probably didn't but there is no way to prove it, is there?"
"I have a gut feeling."
Ignoring his annoyed look, Nyla brushed a hand against his forehead. "It seems like your fever's gone down. I'll bring you some of the soup you didn't drink last night."
She threw over the covers because somehow, she had gotten under them in the night and stood up. She was aware of Darius' gaze on her, so she swung around, "What?"
"You're wearing my sweater..."
She stretched out her arms before tying her hair into a makeshift bun. "I sure as hell wasn't going to be wearing my thousand-dollar suit to bed."
Darius opened his mouth before shutting. He was looking at her weirdly, she couldn't place what his eyes were trying to convey. Blaming everything on the flu, she slipped out of the room and warmed him some soup. Hopefully that would take away whatever weirdness had crept in him.

Nyla get's to return the favour to Darius after he falls sick :) What are your opinions of Heyon? (I don't think Nyla would survive without her) Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed this chapter.
