《Railgun Online, Book 5. Alicization Running》Sinon's Trial.

"Where... where... am I?" Sinon moaned and stood up awkwardly. She found herself in a dark dungeon.. water was dripping all over the place.. Strange freaky drawings were scribbled all over the walls of the dungeon.. as if drawn by somebody from the Slenderman game.
They all depicted people wielding guns.. and a small girl cowering in fear.
"What is this place?" Sinon muttered.
She felt her back and sides.. she couldn't find her gun.. she then heard a voice call her.
"Come.. come Sinon.. we're waiting for you... waiting for you.."
Sinon blinked, and looked out the bars of her dungeon cell..
Majora's Sniper was lying there.. the eyes on the mask design on the but of the gun glowed.. as well as the strange eyes all over the gun.
"We're waiting Sinon.." the voices sounded like whispering children.. giggling. "Teehee.. come on Sinon.. come on.."
Sinon's first thought was 'oh no.. I'm in Sinister 2...'
Her second thought however, was that she had absolutely no other choice but to 'come to it' as the gun was so terrifyingly putting it.
Sinon found the bars were brittle, easily broke them with her bare hands and climbed out.. grabbing the gun.. she couldn't help but notice that the strange dungeon had a bit of an aura to it.. that made it seem similar to a Zelda game she had played years ago on an old Wii that she bought from a Used Game store.
"I swear if I turn into a wolf.. I will freak." Sinon muttered as she shouldered her gun.. which so far, hadn't tried to suck out her soul as far as she could tell.
Sinon walked through the dungeon.. the drawings on the walls getting more and more frightening as she walked through..
The frightened girl kept on appearing in all the drawings.. crying as the guns around her were held closer and closer... blood poured out of the eyes of the people holding the guns..
For a preschool drawing level.. these depictions were down right gruesome.
But what was most frightening about these drawings was how familiar they were.
"Mikoto? Kirito? Eugeo?" Sinon called out. "Yuniko? Yuuki?"
Her voice echoed down the halls.
"Whhoooooooo..." said another voice that belonged to neither of those people. "You're being haunted by car salesmen!! Whooooooo!! Buy the Mazda or suffer!! WHOOOOOOO!!! Hahaha! I hate car salesmen."
Sinon's eyes went wide with rage and fear as she aimed her gun at the figure standing in the hall. "YOU!!!"
(see picture above)
There was Thevos. Only this time his appearance was different. His one eye was bright blue, and his Zant Armor had a front covered in interlocking bladed discs. His left sleeve had a chain hanging out with a lantern attached that was emitting blue flames. His right sleeve had a large wing made of long interlocking sword blades sliding out of the side of the arm.
"Like my new look?" said Thevos. "I've been making alterations to the outfit! Gives me more of a super modern slash fantasy look.. yeah?"
"Give me one reason why I shouldn't blow your head off!! Sinon roared.
"Well.. firstly.. you want to know where you are.." said Thevos.
Sinon waited. "And...?"
"Nothing else.. that's it." said Thevos. "Wow!! Heh.. not many reasons needed.
"So where am I!?" Sinon roared.
"Well, to put it simply, you're frozen in ice along with your friends after having an unfortunate little moment with Eugeo." said Thevos.
"Stop playing games!!" Sinon exclaimed.

"Oh I kid you not.." said Thevos. "By far.. you haven't changed any location.. but.. as for point of mind.. well.. that is a different story... Sinon.. we're in your head.. this is the inside of your very soul!"
Sinon clutched her gun.. her hands shaking, her breathing quickening. "My.. soul!? But.. the drawings.."
"Yeah yeah.. the drawings on the wall." said Thevos. "Familiar weren't they? This is the darkest part of your Fluctlight. You see, it's only thanks to Soul Translation, digitizing your soul into a VR world, that I was actually able to go into your soul.. beautiful place isn't it? All dark and damp.. I'm sure there are other places that are much brighter.. but this was the place I was most interested in.."
Thevos chuckled and looked at his outfit with his roving eye. "You know.. I changed my outfit with this blade wing and Spell Lantern here cause I wanted to get a good new look. I debated red at first.. so nobody would see me bleed.. then I debated brown pants for a similar reason.""
"POW!!!" A powerful streaking light exploded from Sinon's rifle and nearly missed Thevos's head as he dodged just in time.
"What are you doing in my head!?" Sinon screamed. "What is it you want in here!?"
"In the darkest depth of your soul? Where all your fears and terrors lurk?" said Thevos. "I search for one thing.. the one thing that latched to you as soon as you began living with Mikoto Misaka.. you see.. you two are funny.. you're like two key halves of a bigger whole.. destined to be merged at one point.. Have you noticed some strange dreams of late Shino? Well.. don't be scared.. here's a little tale that might rattle your chain.
Nox, when she was banished from our planet, held a little piece of alien hardware.. a piece of the Ancient Weapon if you will.. when she merged with Mikoto Misaka.. we thought that she might have the weapon within her.. so we could kill two birds with one stone.. get the power source.. Misaka.. AND the weapon.. but.. something really strange happened.. Nox.. did something we did not suspect... she infused the weapon in another girl.. who happened to be in close contact with Misaka at the time."
Nox chuckled and raised his wing blades. "You see.. the item inside you Sinon, the Eye of Flames.. it grants the gift of foresight.. in the form of visions... you're able to see the future... and after you've seen what I've done to Misaka.. you will see EXACTLY what I meant.. heheheheheheh.."
"POWWWW!!" Sinon fired her weapon again.. but Zant slipped quietly into the shadows..disappearing from view as Sinon ran through the dungeon, rage filling her.
"I don't know what kind of crap you're spewing!!" Sinon screamed. "I can't see the future!!!"
"Oh really?" said Thevos.. his voice whispering throughout the darkness.. He launched himself out of the blackness.. like a slippery phantom.. twirling around, wielding his wing blades like a shredder.. nearly taking Sinon's head off as she rolled out of the way.
Thevos thrust his lantern forward.. and floated into the air as he fired a massive blast of blue fire from the lantern.
Sinon screamed as she felt the flames blow her far back into the dungeon.
"The funny thing about this is.." said Thevos as he disappeared into blackness. "Is that I'm not like my superiors.. I could care less about the ancient weapon.. I just want to kill Misaka.. and soon.. I will.. considering she is now within my grasp..

"NOOO!!!" Sinon screamed jumping up and pointing her gun around..
Sinon ran through the dungeon ... her breaths ragged, her eyes darting left and right as she carried the Majora's SNiper with her..
Those looking at her blue hair and strange clothes, would have thought that she was currently in a heated pvp match in GGO.. but this was not the case.
"Twinkle Twinkle Asada... watch me kill your Misaka..."
Thevos's voice sang in the darkness..
"Up above the world so high.. I might drop her so she'll die.."
Thevos's echoing laughs reverberated throughout the dungeon.
"How do you like that song!?" Thevos said. "I made it up myself, really speaks to my inner child. By the way, did you ever hear about the time my inner child ate my conscience with a side of inner pork chops? My inner child said the guy tasted like cartoon crickets from a Disney movie.. well however he tasted, I'm glad the guy snuffed it.. he was so annoying."
Sinon cocked her gun and aimed it around her. "Shut up!! Where's Mikoto!? Where's my Imouto-chan you bastard!?"
"So you're going to tell me to shut up, then demand I tell you something?" said Thevos. "Seriously, who taught you how to speak? I want to give him or her a consolation prize for failure."
"WHERE IS SHE!!!?" Sinon screamed.
"You know, you're not really in a position to threaten me and make demands if you can't even see where I am." said Thevos. "You might as well aim that silly stick at a poptart and demand it give you orange juice."
"I'M NOT PLAYING GAMES HERE!!" Sinon roared. "I've got two plasma grenades and I WILL let them off in here!!"
Sinon froze. Plasma Grenades? Since when did she have those in the Underwrld? In fact... why did what she say just now sound so darn familiar..
But Sinon's inner world must have been listening, because at that moment, she saw two GGO plasma grenades sitting next to some rusted bars in the dungeon, and she took them.. as she continued through the maze of dark halls.
"Kinda reminds me of two kids the Integrity Knights caught." said Thevos. "One was drinking an Electric slime class monster, and the other was eating fireworks. They Charged one and let the other one Off.."
Sinon whirled her gun around and fired rounds at the direction of Thevos's voice.
"Oh.. missed.. though I'm not sure you were aiming for me with that poor shot." said Thevos. "That does remind me of that one Game Master from GGO they found eating guns at a weapon's depot. They Fired him."
Sinon gripped her gun tightly, backing around the dungeon, cold sweat pouring down her face. As she backed away, slowly behind her, Thevos's pointed masked head with it's glowing blue eye emerged from the shadows of the ceiling upside-down.
"Watch out! Telemarketers!!"
Sinon whirled around and blasted Thevos's head apart.. in an instant, Thevos's Zant Helm repaired itself, and the large blue eye emerged from the darkness of the mask as Thevos turned right-side up and levitated down, wielding his massive sword.
"Seriously! I'd do the same to any Telemarketer, but that's just rude considering that's the 5th time you've blasted my head off." said Thevos. "I've always been weird for a Viros you know.. what with the funny regenerative powers I have.."
"F-Fifth time!?" Sinon stammered.
"Seriously.. you think that all those wild shots you fired off into the darkness didn't hit at least once? said Thevos. "You're a seriously good shot.. and I'm just too lazy sometimes to dodge.. but don't worry.. that's the least of your worries.. after all.. that little cousin of yours.. is going to die."
Sinon's eyes filled with tears of anger as she took out a plasma grenade. "I'm going to drop this right here.. even you can't regenerate if there's nothing left of you.."
"Well actually, I left a little surprise in the Men's room at the Sword Academy, but do go on." said Thevos. "And about your little cousin or whatever, how do you know I haven't just killed her already?"
"YOU HAVEN'T KILLED HER!!!" Sinon screamed tearfully. "YOU CAN'T HAVE!! NO!!!"
Sinon fired off repeated shots.. as Thevos twirled around, waving his blade wing in a floppy fashion, like a rag doll, using his frightening and disorienting fighting style to deflect Sinon's bullets.
"A dyslexic Viros walks into a bra!! WHOOOPS!!" Thevos used his fabric bandage fingers to grope Sinon's chest, and use her surprised shock to move right in and hit her head with the butt of his lantern, sending her sprawling.
"Now now." said Thevos. "We both know that you wouldn't set off that stupid grenade. Humans have a silly little philosophy called 'Not Dying' that they all prefer to abide by, and the blast would kill you and send you back into your brain damaged body before the silly JSDF can repair it.. pretty much sending you to.. eh.. your death. Ha! look at me, I'm Captain Obvious."
"Y-you killed my Imouto-chan..?" Sinon whispered, her eyes wide with grief.. her voice toneless, as if she had nothing left. "Then.. I have nothing to lose I guess.."
Sinon dropped the plasma grenade.. waiting for the explosion to engulf her and Thevos...
But...
The explosion didn't come.
Instead of a plasma grenade.. a flaming eye made of ruby clattered to the floor..
"Heh...heheheheh.. ahahahahahahaha!!!" Thevos laughed as he picked up the stone. "I can't believe you fell for that!! But then again.. you knew so little of the Eye of Flames.. it's hardly surprising!"
"Wh-what!?" Sinon shook her head. "This.. what is this!?"
"You want to know what they call this world.. Shino Asada?" said Thevos. "They call it.. the Dark Mind.. it is where all the darkest thoughts of all the living beings in the universe converge.. and become one dimension.. it is basically a physical dimension created using data gathered by the darkest fears and hatreds of a sentient being's mind.. take a look for yourself.."
Thevos thrust out a sleeve.. and one of the walls of the dungeon disintegrated... they were overlooking a large massive forest, with trees that had trunks made of dark grey petrified wood.. and yellowing leaves.. a large cloudy sky overlooked this world.. with a constant heavy rain falling from the dark sky..
"In this world.. each living being in your world has their own hidden fortress.. where all your darkest thoughts lurk." said Thevos. "We're currently in your fortress.. The world has it's own denizens.. creatures.. government.. but.. it is a corrupt world.. of perpetual darkness.."
Thevos laughed. "And it is where the great divine objects of the Viros reside.. when fused with a human, they come to rest within their fortress of the Dark Mind.. and the only way to expose it.. is to break down the human to their absolute brink.. And I did just that.. I haven't even captured Misaka yet.. and yet by convincing you I did.. you gave me just what I needed... to punish the human race..."
Sinon clenched her fist.. tears streaming down her face. "I... I..."
"It's allll your fault.. Shino Asada." said Thevos. "The human race is going to die.. all because of you.. a pleasant little thought isn't it? And your cousin is going to power the weapon that ensures it.. and.. I'm going to leave you here to wallow in the Dark Mind.. who knows? Maybe the bank robber you shot is lurking in your Fortress.."
"No.. no.. NO NO NO NO!!!!" Sinon screamed.. and as she screamed.
And as she screamed.. a black figure jumped out from behind her.. her red eyes pierced the darkness.. her black hair swept around as she drew her thin katana.. and slashed it at Thevos, who parried quickly with his blade wing and glided back.
"Ohhhhh?" said Thevos. "A citizen of the Dark Mind? Who might you be?"
"Kill... " said the girl simply.. and as she leapt forward... Sinon's mind began to drift off.. into darkness... and her gun.. Majora's Sniper.. it's eyes began to glow..
"We've been waiting Sinon." said the gun. "We've been waiting.. to be FREE!!"
