《Jenlisa | Guide To Raising The Sick Villain》24

He could go ask the class teacher. Last time the class teacher took the initiative to ask him. So as long as he took the initiative, he could immediately sit with Jennie.
But Lisa didn’t want to do this.
Lisa had his own set of rules and principles, and even such a small thing like changing seats had their own rules and methods.
Jennie had asked him last time why he refused to take the exam, at that time he told her that he had no reason to take it nor did he care enough to do so. But now Lisa had found a reason.
Jennie had changed to another position, and this made him somewhat unhappy.
Suho once again sat on her left, he was much closer to her then Lisa.
Last week, because she was sitting very close to him, Jennie clearly felt that Lisa had made progress. He had spoken more and was more active in their interactions. But now that she had changed seats a week later, she could no longer talk to Lisa as soon as she turned her head.
She glanced back, and saw the girl sitting in front of Lisa pull her table and chair forward, deliberately creating a large space between her and Lisa.
Jennie stared at the girl for a long time, before finally looking away.
Some of Lisa’s actions were often difficult for Jennie to understand. Sometimes she would even misunderstand his actions, but after a period of time, Jennie would slowly figure out what Lisa meant.
For example, Lisa had ignored her last time because of her sentence about drinking water. Then, Lisa would talk to her while they were at the western restaurant, but suddenly ignored her at school.
Lisa’s thinking was different from that of an ordinary person, so sometimes it was a little difficult to understand him, but there did exist a simple truth about Lisa, no matter what Lisa thought, he would never have evil thoughts. He would never think of harming her, instead everything he did was to help her in some way.
When she thought of this, Jennie felt both angry and sad. Everyone believed that Lisa was terrible, but in fact, his heart was purer than anyone else.
Following this train of thought, Jennie finally understood why Lisa didn’t talk to her in the class, or why he didn’t talk to her in front of their classmates.
He was worried that the people here would alienate her or slander her because she was close to him.
Thinking of this, she had the urge to cry.
Jennie was not a sentimental person. The number of times she had cried in her previous life could be counted with just two fingers. She had been a durable and unbendable weed for twenty years, but now, whenever she saw this boy, the softest part of her heart was touched again and again.
She felt distressed to know that there existed a person in this world that was so genuinely kind.
Mino was talking to her about something, but when he was talking, he suddenly found that Jennie had stopped responding. After a glance, he saw Jennie was in a daze.
“Jennie do you still need help?” Mino grabbed Jennie’s arm, “I’m not very good at this type of question, wait a sec let me look at my notes…”
Jennie couldn’t help but turned to look at Lisa’s position. She glanced at Lisa’s eyes, and saw his beautiful light-colored eyes staring at her quietly for a long time, before he lowered his head again.
Jennie felt that she had just seen an illusion. When Lisa had lowered his head, she seemed to see the sadness in Lisa’s eyes, mixed with a kind of indifference that she imagined one would have if they were abandoned by the world.

Jennie’s fingers trembled, and suddenly she quickly shook off Mino’s hand, which was still holding her arm. Mino asked her what was wrong in surprise, Jennie was stunned.
She didn’t know what was wrong.
She just had an illusion that Lisa didn’t seem to like Mino being so close to her.
“It’s nothing,” Jennie lowered her eyelashes and said in a low voice, “Can you do it?”
“It’s too difficult, no, let me look at my notes and I’ll get back to you.” Even Mino, who could compete with Suho in physical chemistry, could not do the problem she gave him. She looked down at the questions on the paper, stood up after a long while, and took the paper over to where Lisa was.
It was the end of class at the moment so the students that usually sat in front of Lisa were not in their seats. Jennie walked over and sat in the seat in front of Lisa. She pulled the chair that was originally pulled far away from his desk and pulled it back so she was closer to him. Instantly, all eyes in the class were on them.
Lisa had already seen Jennie walking towards him, and the hand holding his pen clenched uncontrollably, he watched as Jennie sat in front of him.
Why did she come here? Wasn’t she talking to Mino, Mino’s hand was also on her arm.
Lisa couldn’t control the inexplicable and disturbing emotions that surged in his heart.
When he saw Jennie talking to Mino, he felt that for Jennie, he might not be any different from Mino. No, there was still a difference. He could not compare to Mino at all, because he was so pitiful after she left. It was painful for him to watch, but Jennie still talked to others and smiled at them.
Even though he had already thought about occupying Mino’s position, every minute and every second of watching her was extremely difficult for him.
She was like the lone light of a single candle that broke through the darkness, slowly leaving him little by little. And he would continue to chase her light wherever it went, wondering whether or not she would continue to burn for him.
For normal people, sometimes they would feel insecure, but for Lisa, he had no sense of security at all.
But now Jennie is here again, and Lisa’s uncontrollable irritability and anxiety seemed to erupt in an instant. He stared at the letters in his book for a long time, and couldn’t help but raise his head to look at Jennie and asked her what she was doing.
Jennie put the paper on the table and turned it so that it faced Lisa, “I need help on this question, I can’t do it, but Lisa, you can definitely do it.”
Lisa’s gaze turned cold. He looked away from Jennie’s face and settled on the back of Mino’s head, “You can ask him.”
Jennie followed Lisa’s gaze, then turned back, “It’s too difficult, Mino he can’t do it.”
So she had asked Mino first, but since Mino couldn’t do it she came to ask him.
Lisa lowered his head, looked at the overly simple question before him, and looked back at the book in front of him again, “I can’t do it.”
He definitely could.
Jennie checked, Lisa had read a book a few days ago that even college students would have found very difficult, how could it be possible that he could read such a book yet could not do a first year physics problem.

He was not willing.
The cold and sad look just now was not an illusion at all.
“Well, since you won’t, then forget it.”
Lisa’s body froze again after hearing this.
That’s it… forget it, are you leaving soon?
Jennie took the paper back, but did not leave, instead she stayed in the chair and said with a brisk voice, “Anyways, it doesn’t matter, the question was just an excuse.”
Lisa was taken aback, his eyelashes trembled slightly, excuse?
Jennie smiled and her eyes turned into crescents, “It was mainly an excuse to talk to you, since you don’t take the initiative to find me. I can only ask you how to do this question as a way to chat with you.”
The candle that flickered in the darkness burst into soaring flames.
Lisa looked at the smile on the girl’s face, and his fingers trembled lightly. After a while he finally said, “Give it to me.”
“What?” Jennie took a second to react.
“Paper.”
Jennie was taken aback, and then smiled, “Take a look at it, it’s so difficult.”
Lisa picked up the pen, and less than ten seconds later, the tip of the pen fell on the paper and quickly wrote a string of symbols and numbers.
This is the first time Jennie has seen Lisa writing. The pen was fast and his handwriting is clear and beautiful. It was almost like he didn’t need to think at all, his handwriting flowed continuously, showing how confident he was in his work. Jennie suddenly felt that the boy in front of her was shining.
Jennie looked at the slender and pale hand holding the pen, and exclaimed, “Lisa, your fingers are so beautiful.”
Lisa’s fingers trembled.
What was so good about this sickly pale hand.
The last line was finished and Lisa handed the paper back to Jennie again, “Class is about to begin.”
Jennie chuckled, “I’ll go now”, took the paper and stood up. As she did so she put the chair back to its original place.
Many of the people in class stared at her, looking at each other, before finally shaking their heads.
“She just changed seats and she still went back there?”
“What are they talking about?”
“If i’m not mistaken, Lisa was writing something?”
“Maybe Jennie was teasing him or playing something with him. If he could write, then I can place first grade exam.”
Mino, who has been studying studiously, didn’t notice what happened at all. He only knew that Jennie had left her seat for a while. After returning, the question that could not be done was actually completed.
“You did it?”
While she was gone he had solved it too. Mino took a look and found that his answer was different from Jennie’s.
“I think you made a mistake,” Mino said.
Jennie shook her head, “I think it’s correct.”
Both of them held onto their beliefs and didn’t make any corrections. After handing in the papers, the physics class started. After the papers were sent back, Mino looked at his 0 points, and then looked at Jennie’s 12 points, dumbfounded.
After looking at Jennie’s paper for a long time, he found something was wrong, “No…this is not your style, you asked someone.”
“Yes”,
“Who’d you ask?”
Jennie smiled and glanced back. “A genius.”
Mino: “…”
Another week passed in a blink of an eye. After coming back to school, Jennie was even farther away from Lisa than before.
When the class teacher entered, he reminded the students who were ranked last, “Remember that the seats are not completely based on ranking, so students who are ranked lower need not be discouraged. As long as you make progress, as long as the teacher can see your progress, you can still be at the same table with your classmates with better grades. Therefore, the opportunity is reserved for those who are prepared, do you understand it!”
“We understand…”
Mark and a bunch of students gathered at Suho’s table, and asked, “Suho, are you going out for activities?”
“I’m not free right now.” Suho responded.
“Fuck, what’s wrong with you”, several people were shocked.
Suho took a look at where Jennie sat, “I’m preparing to take the number one spot back.”
“Preparing to take the number one spot back?!”
Suho ignored him.
“You didn’t try very hard before, and you barely studied history and politics. This time, you’re actually studying before the exam. You will definitely be number one again. Do you need to be so worried?” Someone said.
“Just in case.”
The students were silent. They did not understand the benign competition among the academic masters.
Mark thought for a while, turned around and glanced at Jennie, and said to the boy behind him in a low voice, “In fact, don’t underestimate Jennie. She was seven points higher than Suho last time. Except for playing with Lisa after class, almost everyday she is reading, so her literary comprehension is very strong.”
Language, history and politics, these three subjects generally couldn’t make much of a difference, but Jennie did better in those three subjects than Suho last time. She got nearly thirty points higher than Irene, who was very strong in liberal arts. This in itself was terrifying.
He understood that Suho has such a strong self-esteem that he did not want to be suppressed by Jennie again.
The group of boys sighed, their friend was too awesome, but they had none of his motivation.
“Since Jennie took first place in the exam last time, our class has been injected with chicken blood. Everyone is crazily studying thinking they could recreate what Jennie did.”
But who could say that Jennie was weak, even Suho had begun to study seriously because of her.
“I suddenly feel ashamed of myself. Do you know what I saw this morning? I saw Lisa of all people actually reading a history textbook.” Sehun said in a loud voice.
Although he didn’t yell, Jennie who sat very close to Suho heard him, and she stopped writing when she heard Lisa’s name.
Sehun couldn’t smile, “If even that fool knows how to study, maybe I should read a book as well. Hey! Who hits me.”
Jennie squeezed in from behind Sehun her face cold, “Can you move? Are you a roadblock or what?”
Sehun: “…”
He was 1.9 meters tall and stood in a walkway that was less than one meter wide. He really blocked the path completely.
Mark pulled Sehun back, and when he watched Jennie walk away, he whispered, “Why do I think she did?”
Sehun’s eyes lit up, “She hit me on purpose?”
Mark seeing Sehun like this, he knew immediately what Sehun was thinking about ,”Don’t get the wrong idea, she’s mad about what you said about Lisa.”
“What does me talking about Lisa have anything to do with her?”
“”Who knows, Jennie is protecting that Lisa bastard,” Mark shook his head, “Didn’t you have a fight with Lisa and Chungha before.”
“If you want to talk nonsense, go outside, don’t bother me while I’m studying.” Suho frowned and told the group of people to leave. After Sehun and the rest of the boys left, Suho dropped his pen onto the desk.
He suddenly didn’t want to do it.
——
Jennie turned over her notes, and spent a day adding everything she could think of that had not been written in the notebook.
She did hit Sehun on purpose, but after the collision was over, her heartbeat was a bit fast.
What Sehun said was ugly, but he probably didn’t lie.
He said Lisa was reading a history textbook.
Lisa has read history books before. Jennie once saw it clearly. It was a lecture on world history. It was very thick and professional. It stands to reason that Lisa who has read that kind of book would never read a simple thing like a textbook.
Compared with the books he reads, the content of a textbook is too little.
But Lisa was really reading one.
People with AS hate change. They like to follow their own plan and repeat their daily life, so as long as there is a change, no matter how small, it must have a meaning behind it.
It is precisely because of this that Jennie suddenly had a hypothesis. Thinking about her guess she felt that was unbelievable yet couldn’t help but feel a rush of joy at it being true.
If it was true.
If Lisa really decided to change….
But Lisa did not mention it to her, nor did he tell her about it, so Jennie could not ask him.
Although she can’t ask, she could do something else.
Lisa is very smart, but that was for mathematical physics, Jennie thought of the physics problems that Lisa had done in a few seconds that day, and felt worried.
Because history and politics are different.
Despite memorization and knowing things, you may not get a high score in those two subjects.
This was because some things need to be comprehended by yourself so it was not in the book.
The next day, when Lisa arrived at the school, he found two more notebooks in his table cubby.
On the cover there were two big words, Jennie.
Lisa’s heart trembled faintly, took out a notebook, and opened it gently.
The meticulous knowledge points were all complete and clear. They were all in order by time period so one could distinguish them clearly, there was also usage of different pens to mark out specific types of info. Some important things were especially highlighted just in case he missed them.
One notebook was for history, one was politics.
In fact, since the day he had made his plan, he had asked Uncle Chen to bring back some books for him to study. Uncle Chen had moved quickly and brought back many books for him. But looking at the notebook in his hand, Lisa was not willing to return it.
After looking through all of the contents of the notebooks carefully, he asked Uncle Chen to make an exact copy, which was then given to Jennie the next day.
Jennie looked at the notebook in her hand, he was done?
Did she guess wrong, did Lisa actually not want to take the exam?
There are still ten days left for the second monthly exam. Usually, the teachers have to prepare the tests themselves, but when class started, the head teacher told everyone some bad news.
“This time, we bought the monthly test papers for No. XX High School in City S. Everyone knows about No. XX High School, right?”
Upon hearing this sentence, the whole class had already started wailing.
There is no student who hasn’t heard of XX High School this year.
Out of all of the top schools from each province, half of the students admitted to Tsinghua University in the North province were from XX High School.
When they learned that their school had bought test papers from that particular school, everyone instantly understood that this monthly exam will be very, very difficult.
The whole class began to cry more, but there were also students who were in a relatively good mood, such as Mino and Suho.
If the paper is difficult, then the gap will be even greater, especially for subjects like mathematics, physics, English, which are easy to draw points from. For top-notch students, this was an advantage.
Additionally, there school’s tests were graded in a weird way. Each course was worth 150 points instead of 100. This was done so to reflect the scoring basis of the college examinations system.
Take someone’s one-hundred-point paper and change the score for each question so it added up to 150 points. If it was done in this way, the points for each question would be worth more and thus the difference will be larger.
Jennie was panicked.
Of course, she was panicked.
She was not bad in physics and could also be ranked in the top five in the class, but she was not as good as Suho and Mino.
Jennie didn’t want to lose to Suho.
In the next ten days, Jennie worked harder, and learned many little tricks to better study. For example, in English class, she would spare a little time to learn physics.
Mino asked if she wanted to study together because of his poor English scores, almost cried when she saw Jennie doing physics in English class.
Why is life so unfair? He studied so seriously and still couldn’t keep up with English.
Jennie thought about it for a while before rejecting, “No way, your English is too poor.”
Mino: …
Forget it, I’ll stop talking.
Jennie smiled, continued to read her book and did not say anything else.
When I returned to the Kim family that night, Mother Kim finally couldn’t keep it in any longer. She really couldn’t figure out what Jennie was doing all day, so much so that she did not come back until 12 o’clock every night.
“What are you doing all day? I’ll go to school and ask your teacher if you don’t say anything.”
Jennie frowned, “Working.”
Working?
Mother Kim was stunned for a moment, “Why do you work?”

BODY&SHADOW
AN ILLUSTRATED NOVEL • UPDATES TUESDAY AND FRIDAY In a time before living memory, the King Dragon of the Void watched the world and realized there was a crack. He realized that humanity was destroying the rock upon which they lived; they leaked life’s code into the churning chaos. At first the change was imperceptible: nanites overtook microorganisms, bacteria, viruses, amoebas. Insects became increasingly inorganic; birds and lizards followed soon after. Even humans were infected by their own advances, cell by cell, till there was not a person left on earth who wasn’t at least part synthetic, the product of a prior generation’s carelessness. The world’s population was ravaged by mechanical viruses with no vaccines; they were mercilessly overtaken by bacteria that knew no death. Soon, most of the planet was empty and only a handful remained who remembered the hedonist realm they came from; only a few were left who remembered what the world looked like when their buildings touched the sky. The King Dragon of the Void watched the rock turn. He watched humans cower as the Old World fell down around them; watched their great monuments crumble into dusty ruins; watched their codes become precious, ancient gem memories forged under the crushing pressure of so many fallen stones. The world has spun many times around the sun since chaos swallowed man whole. It is a simpler time than the one that died out, but the people now are not immune to the folly of the people before. There is old code everywhere: in the water, in the air, in the trees. The heart of man has been replaced by power cores, many of which are hard-coded with preternatural abilities—when they die, an esoteric mountain sect collects their cores and stores them in their hollow mountain home to preserve the sanctity and dignity of human death. They’ve learned to harness artifacts of the old world, gemstones full of codes their nanite infused bodies can parse as spells imbuing their users with great power; they inlay them into their bodies, into their skins, connected to their cores by copper conduit and gold tracers; they dress themselves in tattoos to advertise their prowess; they battle for relics in arenas, fight for them in the open world wherever they are found. The King Dragon of the Void watches the rock turn and wonders: when will this hunger finally make the rock stop spinning? WELCOME TO FANXING CITY … Twenty-five years ago, Fanxing City and the surrounding lands were commanded by the mad King Zao Beiguan. For many years, the King hoarded wealth, artifacts, food; he demanded tribute from a people already taxed to the edges of their existence and expected they be happy with their circumstances. Noncompliance was often punished harshly, bodies displayed proudly on Fanxing’s streets as a warning, from the city gates to the Zao palace’s golden doors. The youths of several prominent clans came together to overthrow the tyrant and made names for themselves as legendary heroes across the land: Tian, Ren, Feng, Gui, Ma, and Zhenxi. Even wanderers from the Luanshi sect descended from Yunji mountain to aid the rebellion. When the dust settled after three years, Tian Yunyong ascended the throne of Fanxing and swore to honour his slain father’s memory, and has maintained Fanxing’s peace with generosity and mercy where fear and cruelty once reigned.
