The girl looked at him.

"Yes, I know."

She couldn't help but feel frightened by those words. Probably because she really wished that she was only playing with her dad.

But the clown couldn't know that, right?

Maybe he just saw them running together and thought that they were playing.

"I-it started raining...s-so I thought that I could stay here for a bit, instead of under the rain."

"Really?!" Asked the little one, hoping to be able to stay away from her father for a bit more. "Thanks Mr. Clown!"

Mr. he said giggling dancing He corrected, trembling and making the little bells of his dress ring.

The little one was shocked by those words.

He exclaimed. Then lowered down to stare at her right in her eyes.

With one of his eyes at least, since he was a bit squint.

He became suddenly very serious.

"A mermaid? But mermaids are only in tales."

"And do you think that I can see them?"

He told her, giggling again.

The little girl felt strange, she could not help but stare at his bright blue eyes.

"And what should I do?"

"Swim?" She asked, naively.

The girl thought about it for a moment.

What do mermaids do? They sing, but it has nothing to do with swimming.

A creepy and shrill laugh passed through the sewers and made the little girl feel a bit uncomfortable.

A devious grin appeared on his pale white face and his eyes turned golden yellow.
