《Mercy (Pennywise 2017 x Reader) UNFINISHED AND DISCONTINUED》Chapter 15 - Hidden Eyes

The humming of soft crickets, hums of nature and life surrounding the forests as Y/N wandered aimlessly through. Summer had gone, and the seasons passed, growing cooler in the air as it did.
Soon enough, the light clothing from the summer heat had been replaced by the thicker cloths to stay warm when days grew grey and colder. But Y/N didn't take any notice of it - the clothes she had worn felt all the same all year round - even when she wore such heavy dresses.
It doesn't really matter-- grey and cold is how I feel inside.
Even when a few months had passed, the current situation in Y/N's case had seemed to darken: with the potential suitor she had met during the summer, had now come to propose to her. In the little time and effort they had with each other- and not waiting to disappoint her parents- she had said yes, but in her mind, she had thought how much she had regretted it.
It was a choice with wholesome regrets, and from the moment the word 'yes' had left her lips, she knew what an awful situation she was in.She had come to quickly realise how much she didn't love this man. Cornelius- even though his looks were what a woman would want- he was arrogant, ignorant and a misogynist- thinking little of her as a human being or even as a woman.
She had come to know that disappointing her parents in this potential marriage was something she wanted to avoid; but the thought of marrying a man who could be her worst literal nightmare... it frightened her far more than anything in her life.
Aside from talking to Etta about it, Y/N didn't think speaking to her closest friend was even helpful- for the H/C haired female worried her friend wouldn't understand.
She was completely alone in this world, with little to no-one to be there to talk to or have a shoulder to cry on. She was far from someone who would want to weep and mope around all day, but the months passing had led to greater implications in her health and helping to make her feel isolated.
She avoided eating, spent days indoors and trying to sleep, but the from lack of it made her feel as if her mind was eating its ways out from the inside.
Help me, it feels like the walls are caving in.
It was the only time in such a long time that she had headed out from her dark bedroom this day, deciding to take a walk amongst the woods and forests. She had compared the feeling of isolation to how caged birds felt - trapped with their wings clipped for eternity- with no use of being free.

Walking amongst the mud and other things she didn't want to know what were, Y/N realised the familiar path she was taking the last time. It felt like ages ago, but from what she remembered, it was where she had encountered the clown injured.
She had helped It, but even with the little information on what It was, she couldn't decipher what exactly the clown was, but all she could think of was one thing. That thing... is no way human.
She hadn't seen or heard from Pennywise in so long after helping, as for as soon as she did help It get out of the trap, the clown had disappeared into thin air.
Her only possible friend; gone, not interested in her anymore. She had come to think, walking slowly along the path she had not forgotten. The trees and branches curved downwards around her, making them look as if they were trapping her from looking up to the sky.
At least I can be to myself here. She thought, slumping. She had finally decided to sit down, against a tree as it on looked the small stream in front of her.
It took some time to think quietly to herself, to reflect over her decisions. Had she been smarter, Y/N could've said no, packed her bags that same night and run away, away from this dreadful town and away from those she knew. She could start afresh, with no worries of being judged at all.
My only chance of happiness, shattered right in front of me. She sniffed, wiping the thick droplets of tears leaking from her eyes. She threatened herself to remain strong, but it all seemed to come out at this moment.
The sounds around her chorused into one fusion, feeling as if the nature itself was there to judge her on her poor decisions. She hadn't realised of the thing that was watching her quietly.
A small gust of wind flew past the base of her neck across her collarbone, a long shiver taking over as she rubbed her eyes. Had it been for the cold, she would've thought that the wind was acting as her worst enemy. But the breeze felt more than just soft, like soft silk was gliding across her skin-
"Little one."
She gasped, jumping and looking to the culprit who had disturbed her. A soaring feeling came to her heart when she had seen the one person standing beside her, tall like the tree trunks itself.
"P-Pennywise..." she couldn't say anything else, taken back by It's sudden appearance.
Pennywise had been towering over her much smaller form, the thin lines that resembled eyebrows narrowed and furrowed, watching her with some confusion, not saying anything for some time.

It made her a bit uncomfortable to see this tall figure over her.
It eventually bent down to her height, a white gloved hand moving to the corner of her right eye, catching a lone tear from falling.
"What is that? Why are you leaking water?" It asked, inspecting the drop on his fingertip, the tear had now disappeared with only a puddle being remained.
She would've laughed at this; she didn't know this clown could be so clueless, but there was nothing that wanted to come out.
"... a tear... it's what humans do when t-they're sad."
Pennywise eyes moved from the glove to her face, blue eyes holding such curiosity that it resembled a child.
"Sad?" It croaked, leaning closer into her face, sniffing the air around them both. "Why are you sad?"
Y/N was confused at first, blinking the tears rapidly away, not knowing how to respond. "It's... I-It's a long story." She responded, clutching her knees into her chest, listening to the water running close by.
Pennywise growled in either irritation at her answer or at that fact that It couldn't understand the complex mind and emotions of humans.
It rocked on it's heels, contemplating anything in the extraterrestrial eternal mind stored above.
"Will... will a balloon make you better?"
She snorted louder than expected, looking to It when she felt the corners of her mouth slightly turn upwards in an half-excuse of a smile.
She shook her head dismissively, turning her eyes away to look at the stream.
Pennywise growled louder this time, moving from in front of her to sit beside her, slumped in defeat in trying to know what was going on.
It couldn't even smell fear on her, so It knew it was something far more than just feeling scared.
"Why. Are. You. Sad, little one?" Pennywise asked once again, determined in wanting to know about this human's emotions even if it took him another thousand years for him to learn.
The tone that Pennywise had asked the question in didn't help with how Y/N felt, and now, she felt like her whining and crying was just going to frustrate the entity further.
All the feelings just seemed to swell up further inside of her, and before long, the tears came again, falling heavier as she sobbed louder.
"I-I don't know P-Penny-- maybe just the fact I-I have to marry a man I don't even love nor know that well!" She weeped, shuddering beside It as she cried and cried.
Pennywise was taken by this sudden tearful outburst. Sure, he had heard babes cry as loud many times before, but not adults.
It was odd to see a human cry like this, and it only made It more curious as to the one word that she spoke.
"Marry?"
"Marriage... w-when two people come together to be with each other for t-the rest of their lives..."
Pennywise knew that humans didn't live that long compared to an eternity here living in this dirty town, and so, the concept of marriage was still a bit confusing. It didn't say much, and to Y/N, it just allowed her to say everything she was both thinking and feeling.
"I knew I-I shouldn't of said yes to him. I was too stupid to say yes to her-- and now, I have too many things to think of... The man would mayhaps even beat me if I stepped out of line... My stupid parents, forcing me into this. They wanted to marry m-me off Penny! I-I--" she whimpered, "can't marry a man I don't know!"
Pennywise watched her in utter silence, taking in her words even if they confused It. Pennywise was a eater of worlds, not some kind of councilor! There was no idea what to do!
Pennywise finally huffed in defeat, the bells around It's clothing softly ringing. It took so long to think of one suggestion, but all seemed difficult to do when there was never a situation It had ever been in.
"Want me to eat them?"
Y/N's eyes shot open, E/C eyes widened in shock at the suggestion. "W-What? No! Please, God, why-- that's not what I m-meant..." she huffed sadly to herself, confused herself as to what to think of this all.
Pennywise looked to the side she was on, slightly leaning into it's way, their shoulders brushing, and even though the feeling felt weird, It didn't shrug or push her away.
She finally shrugged in utter defeat, glancing to Pennywise momentarily. "I just... don't k-know what to do.." she uttered hopelessly.
Pennywise didn't reply, sighing as It thought back to the previous suggestion. What seemed wrong about eating them all? Then she wouldn't have to worry about them or this marriage.
For now, Pennywise remained by her side, thinking to what choice she would do or how she would solve it, even if It didn't know what decisions or choices she would have left.
It was short, and yet, I had to get myself back into it, I felt bad for not writing anything and pushing it further and further back.
I'll try my best to get back into things again, hopefully.
