《Sang Insane | ✔》Chapter Forty Four

"Who's next?!" I yell happily.
I step off Archer's throat and examine him.
Bruises, broken bones, nearly crushed windpipe...
Eh.
He'll live.
Most likely.
I grin evilly.
Someone in the back is puking.
Jordan, however, looks both impressed and pleased.
This wasn't my first fight today, nor was it the most brutal.
"Good job, Sang!" Jordan calls.
I flip out of the ring like I was trained to do every time and ask hopefully, "Anymore challengers?"
Anthony and Allan rush over to Archer to make sure he is fine.
Jordan laughs, "I think not. Although, we all would love to see you right as Insane. Not sure who we would find to fight you, though..."
I nod in agreement.
When I told Jordan of my ideas for fun, I was completely shut down. Apparently, there are a few laws in the mafia.
Jordan suggested that I come with her to her training instead, and one thing led to and here I am.
Fighting again.
But this is different.
This is just for fun and my choice.
I wasn't forced or manipulated into fighting.
Looking back now, I can see that the fighting was Father's choice so he could gain money, fame, and status.
Real cool, Father.
Not.
Phil comes up to me clapping as he walks.
"Marvelous, Sang! I'd love to see you fight as Insane, but I can understand your reluctance. Now, I believe we all need to be getting to breakfast," Phil says.
I grin at Phil and skip to the cafeteria.
The mafia is so much fun!
I grab a tray and get in line.
I serve myself six pieces of toast so I can try the five jellies and have one with just butter, a pear because I have always wanted to try one, a chocolate filled croissant because, well, it's chocolate, and a bottle of strawberry milk.
I want to get more, but I can't since I am on a diet.

Just kidding!
I can't get more because apparently they have a new rule about food portions.
I take my food to an empty table just like I always do at school.
Before I start eating, I have an important and pressing question.
Is this a mini mountain of food, a knoll, or a hill?
Unfortunately, I am torn away from my deep thinking by someone sitting down across from me.
Woah.
This never happened in school.
No one has sat with me before just to sit next to me.
Jordan smiles at me, before looking at my food and gasping.
"Is that your food?" She asks shocked.
I give her a flat look.
"No. It's my organs with a few paperclips mixed in," I deadpan.
Jordan rolls her eyes, "I mean, are you going to eat all that?"
I give her a confused look.
"What else do you do with food?"
Jordan laughs and shakes her before starting to eat her food.
I shrug my shoulders and drop the subject. I smear some strawberry jelly on top of the first piece of toast, but right before I can take a bite I am interrupted by someone sitting down next to me.
"Hello, Sang," Wyatt chirps.
"Wyatt!" I squeal. "My brother from another mother!"
I throw my arms around him and give him a hug causing him to turn bright red.
Aww, he is so cute!
I just want freeze him to death, shrink him, and carry him around in my pocket all day, every day!
Well, every day until he starts to stink.
Dead bodies tend to do that.
I am about to eat my toast when Anthony and Allan collapse into their own chairs.
Seriously, this is so strange!
All these people coming to sit at my table!
"Hi, you two!" I greet them happily.
Allan simply states at me and a horrified Anthony exclaims, "You nearly killed Archer a few minutes ago and you are perfectly fine?!"

I roll my eyes.
"Duh. The key word here is "nearly." I didn't actually kill him. Besides, isn't this the mafia? Where death and violence run rampant? "
I am about to stuff the toast in my mouth, when Phil joins us asking, "Sang, what is this about death and running rampant?"
I groan and throw down my toast.
"THAT'S IT! YOU ALL ARE GOING TO BE QUIET AND LET ME EAT MY STINKING FOOD!!!" I roar furiously.
The whole room falls silent.
"Thank you!" I chirp happily.
I stuff my toast in my mouth and an savoring the delicious , while ignoring the stares I am receiving from everyone.
"Yeesh. Zero to one hundred and back again," Mutters Sarah.
I ignore Sarah and stuff more food in my mouth.
Chewing peacefully, (okay fine, there is a bit of crunching, but that's because it is toast!) I don't notice the boys until they are all sitting down and Owen asks, "How were you guys able to make it so completely silent in here?"
I give Phil a look and point to my mouth before stuffing in another slice of toast.
Phil laughs, "Oh, no. This was all Sang's work. All she did was tell everyone to be quiet so that she could eat."
They boys all look at me with emotions in their eyes.
I easily could have interpreted the emotions, but the food...
They probably think I am a pig.
Yay!
In my book, pigs are cherished and genius animals that understand the ways of food and eating. Well, they aren't so cherished that I don't eat them. Minor details, though...
Quickly I gobble my food up and lock my plate clean.
Feeling like I need a pick me up, I head over to the coffee station. I add milk and sugar to my massive pink mug.
I sit down back at my table and sip my drink.
Slowly, I can feel my energy being boosted and my mind beginning to work properly again.
"Again?! Star, are you hearing this?! Her brain worked on its own?!" Sarah gasps.
Star is laughing too hard to answer her.
I roll my eyes at the two of them and continue to drink out of my mug.
"Umm... Sang, why are you drinking cold milk in a mug?" Jordan asks slowly.
I give her a pitying smile.
Truly, I am the only one with some brains around here.
"Jordan, this is clearly cold milk and sugar," I giggle at her silliness.
"But where is your coffee, Sang?" She presses.
This draws the attention of the boys, who all snap their heads around to look at me.
Their poor necks...
They probably have whiplash.
Those boys are ridiculous.
"Sang?!"
"Coffee?!"
"She can't drink that ****!"
"Take it away!"
"Throw the coffee machine away!"
"Throw them all away!"
"My little Coffee Bean is taking after me..."
"NOOOO!!!"
"Why, cruel world?!"
"Sean, pump her stomach!"
"Has she started shaking yet?!"
"THE HORROR!"
"CUT IT OUT, BOYS!" I yell, finally. "It wasn't coffee! Just milk and sugar!"
Sighs of relief and exclamations of "Hallelujah!" are heard around the table.
And I thought I was dramatic.
I roll my eyes and drink my sugary milk until North snatches away
"You have had enough sugar for a while," North says in a commanding tone.
I push down the anger that rises at the fact that he is stealing my sugar milk.
"Meanie, can I get some clothes now?" I ask frowning down at the clothes that I slept in.
Gabriel smirks and nods.
"Let's go, Trouble."
I lick the last bit of jelly off my fingers as I stand up and follow Meanie to the room with all the clothes and stuff.

Life of a Core
After a disembodied voice had told him he was what amounted to an exceptionally talented rock, it had been hard to not let it go to his non-existent head. Until, random chance had decided to give him a square kick in the minerals. Which had in turn forced him to fend for himself in an unknown land, all while he attempted to make sense of his place in the world. Truthfully though, all he had really wanted to do from the start had been to bury himself a hundred feet below the ground and be left to his own devices. Yet, for one reason or another, nobody ever seemed willing to leave the dungeon-building core alone long enough to actually make one. Each chapter will average around two to three thousand words, the release schedule is still a WIP but you should expect the first six chapters to be released over the next six days. This is planned out as a dungeon building fiction, but don't expect it right off the bat! The story is a depiction of the everyday adventures (alongside an overarching plot) of what I imagine a dungeon core would experience when thrust into a random environment where everything and everyone tried to covet or eat him. I also really enjoy reading the comments and reviews people leave and would love to get some reader involvement with the story itself, likely through polls at the end of each chapter. I hope you enjoy my story! (If you feel like some of the characters seem familiar, you may have read some older work I wrote a while back under a different account. If you happen to be one of my old readers and recognize the similarities, I'm happy to have you back!)
