《Sang Insane | ✔》Chapter Forty Six

I throw the door open and Luke bounds over to me.
"Thank goodness, Cupcake! Do you know what kind of torture it is waiting to be released while you can smell chocolate cake being baked?!" Luke accused giving me a hurt look.
"Not really. All those times I got locked up, I normally smelt blood. Sometime my own feces when I was stunned suck there for long enough," I answer with a shrug.
Luke gives me a horrified and regretful look.
To make it to away, I shove his cake slice under his nose.
Luke looks at me and at the cake. And back and forth. And back and forth. And back and forth. And back and forth. Finally, he snatches the cake.
In between bites, he informs me, "We're not done talking about this."
I give him a confused look.
"Talking about what?"
Luke swallows and gawks at me.
"Talking about you sticking a chair under the handle keeping me stuck in a room with painted shut windows! While there is cake baking! All because I wanted to try some!"
"Yeah, the chair was pretty smart wasn't it, Mr.Lockpick? I'll have to thank Kota for having painted shut windows though..."
Luke mutters a ton of mean words under his breath.
I gasp in horror.
Angry, I grab his ear in a vice grip and drag him to the bathroom ignoring his shouts. I stick his head in the sink and knee him in the gut.
Luke gasps in pain.
I take the opportunity.
I shove the bar of soap in his mouth and scrub it around a little. When I am no longer mad or concerned about the quality of the words that come out of his mouth, I let go of him.
Luke panics and spits out the suds and sticks his mouth under the faucet. He rinsed his mouth out before drying his tongue with a towel and then drinking straight from the faucet.

"What was that for?!" He roars once he is done wiping the water off his face.
Huh.
Luke doesn't normally get mad.
I wonder what has him so freaked out.
"What was what for?" I ask curiously.
Luke facepalms.
"Sang, why did you wash my mouth out?" Always clarifies slowly.
I grin.
I know the answer!!!
"Easy! You said many, many, many, mean and dirty words so I made sure your mouth is clean," I answer happily.
Luke softens until he is no longer mad at all and hugs me.
I hug him back, unsure of why he is hugging me but not caring.
"Thank you for caring, Cupcake, even if you show it strange and awful ways," Luke murmurs.
How interesting.
First he is mad for no reason, now he is hugging me for no reason.
Strangeness.
I sigh.
"Of course I care about you, Always. You may be a weirdo and a bit of a wimp, but you are so funny and you love sugar and pranks as much as I do," I tell him honestly.
Luke looks me in the eye.
"Thank you, Sang. I sometimes feel like I'm less than my brothers. I appreciate are and your actions, even if you aren't forgiven yet."
I snort, "Luke, do you realize that you are not the only one with confidence issues? Gabriel feels the same way. And you guys are both incredible and handsome, just like the rest of your brothers. You guys need to start talking to each other, not just me."
"You think I'm handsome?"
Now it's my turn to facepalm.
"Yes, Lucian Taylor, I think you are handsome. Slightly wimpy, (okay, more than slightly) but handsome. Although, you need a haircut," I add looking at his long blond hair that brushed his shoulders.
Always blushes.
Bored with our conversation, I turn and walk downstairs to Jessica.

"Jessica! What do you want to do now?" I inquire excited.
Jessica grins, happy that I am talking to her.
Wyatt and her must meet!
And fall in love.
And get married.
My happiness (So basically my life) depends on it.
"Kota told me you are good at gymnastics. I have been wanting to learn how to do a handspring. Do you think you could help me?" She suggests shyly.
I beam at her.
"I'd love to! Let's move the furniture out of the way!"
Erica laughs, "Well, I'm going to flee while I still can. Have fun and don't break anything."
Did...
She...
Just...
?
I swear, she is the bestest mother in the whole world!
I'm happy that Kota and Jessica have such a great parent!
Although, I am a little sad that my mother, while she was alive, was never this nice.
"Okay, Jess! Go ahead and change into clothes you can move around in while I set up the room," I order cheerily.
Jessica gives a mock sulate and bounds to her room to change.
I push all the furniture to the edges of the room with Luke's help.
Jessica comes down wearing green shorts and a purple tank top.
"Okay, Jessica! The first part of learning how to do a handspring is learning how to do a handstand."
Luke watched for a bit while I help her figure it out before getting bored and turning to his phone.
"No, don't arch your back. Suck your stomach in," I coach her. "Straight up and down, like a tree!"
After a while, Jessica masters the handstand.
"Great job, Jessica! Now we can work towards the handspring. We'll start a few inches off the ground so you can have a little more time to flip over."
She doesn't master it, but an hour later we are done for the day.
"Thank you so much Sang do helping me. I know you didn't have to," Jessica says shyly.
"You're right, I didn't have to. I wanted to," I tell her, an for once in my life, I am dead serious. "Jessica, I claimed you as my little sister the second I met you. Sisters have to help each other out."
Jessica grins at me.
Luke interrupts our sisterly moment, "Well, we better get going, Cupcake."
I glare at him and give Jessica and Erica a quick hug each.
"Bye, Jessica. Bye, Erica."
"See you soon, Sang!" Jessica assures.
Erica agrees, "I would be happy to have you over anytime. I'm glad that you and Jessica get along so well."
"Of course we do! Jessica is practically perfect!" I tease the blushing girl.
Luke and I head outside to the car.
I purposely left the cake behind.
"Luke! I forgot the cake! We must take some! It only lasts a day!" I lie dramatically. The cake really does only last a day, but I didn't forget it.
Now I get to steal the drivers side.
Luke pales and darts inside to cut some cake and I know I have a few minutes.
I rush to his car which is parked across the street.
In front of my house.
I didn't notice when I parked it.
I guess that it was just instinct to be near my old home.
Racing around the car to the driver's side, I don't see him.
But, when it is too late, I feel him.
The needle pierces my neck and darkness consumes me until all I know is darkness.
I am asleep before I can feel my body hit the ground.

Shades of the Moon
I'm rewriting this story! I have taken down Arc 2 and Arc 3 already to avoid spoiling my new novel. The only reason I'm keeping the first 10 chapters is nostalgia; the writing is awkward and the story is not plotted out properly, but it's here if anyone wants to compare it to the new one. If you'd like to read a more professionally written version of this story, I highly suggest checking out my Synergy. Synopsis version too-many-to-count: “I see,” Kiona said. “But . . . you’re changing once again, aren’t you?” The entity considered her question, lifting a clawed hand towards the night sky. They observed the back of their hand idly, watching the glowing orange veins pulse alongside their pitch-black exoskeleton. The wind picked up right then, and Kiona shivered—just as much from the cold as from the savage grin on the creature's face. “That’s right,” the entity said, clenching their hand slowly into a fist. They let out a quiet laugh, staring defiantly at the Moon as it rose from behind the clouds. “We are shades, yet not exactly. Not like the others. Here, in this world, we've become something more. We are the Shades of the Moon.” There was a heartbeat of silence, during which Kiona joined the entity in their skygazing. The light-green Moon loomed over the city, shining like the entity's eyes. It promised otherworldly knowledge and terrible secrets. It promised progress. It promised change. In that moment, Kiona couldn't have imagined anything more beautiful. “Shades of the Moon, huh?” she said, smiling a bit. It had a nice ring to it.
