《Alpha Theo || ✓》25 | hit the road, jack

"Can I borrow your phone?" I asked Eliza as we sat slumped on Theo's couch waiting for the boys to be finished in the office. For hours they have been stuck in the office, neglecting to tell us what was going on and slowly but surely it was getting on my nerves.
I was going to be the Luna of this pack eventually, shouldn't I be part of this?
Maybe I will thinking to highly of myself.
Eliza cocked her head to the side and she glanced at my weirdly, grabbing my phone from my pocket. "You haven't got a phone?" I scoffed.
"I didn't really get the option to when I was ripped from my own home." I spoke rather bitterly despite being over being kidnapped by my own mate, the irritation of not knowing what was eating up all of Theo's time was clearly getting to me.
"Understandable." Eliza nodded, throwing her phone to me which I caught effortlessly. "Who are you going to call?"
"My brother."
I had finally made the decision to talk to my brother, see how he was doing after I went missing. I wondered what my father told everyone when I chose to stay with Theo. Part of me wanted to ask Jack straight if he knew about out father's past but I would have to wait, maybe even invite him over here so we could talk in person.
"I'll give you privacy." Eliza stood up, patting my shoulder before leaving the room, leaving me in the room alone to sit and think of what I was going to say to my brother that I hadn't seen in weeks.
Was it different in the pack since I left, was anyone bothered that I was gone? Obviously I wouldn't want anything change, but the thought still came up.
I also wanted to know how my mother was doing. Despite not really want to face my father just yet because of things he had done, I still wanted to talk to my mother. Yes, everything technically happened because my mother killed Theo's aunt but I still wanted to see how she was doing.
She is still sick, after all.
Typing in my brother's phone number I was slowly getting anxious. Did he hate me because I chose to stay and leave everyone behind without a word, did he even want to talk to me?

Jack and I had the same sibling rivalry that every other sibling pair shared, but we loved each other to bits. If he was hurt, I was patch him up. If I was hurt, he would hunt down what hurt me to the ends of the earth. We were a team, even when his mate Lia turned up, we were the team of all teams.
It scared me to know I could have potentially ruined it all for following my heart, despite staying with Theo with the intention of making my mother happy for her daughter.
The ringing of the phone as I waited for Jack to answer the phone shook me to the core, the nerves in my stomach bundling up and I could feel my heart racing.
"Hello?" His voice rang in my ears, tears springing in my eyes but not falling as heard my brother's voice for the first time in weeks. We were never apart, despite him being older than me we were stuck to each other as if we were inseparable twins.
"Hello?" He repeated.
"Hey Jack." My voice was nothing but a whisper as I replied to my big brother.
"Hollister?" It was amazing how we could recognise each other just by our voices. "Oh my god, Holly is that actually you?" His voice was low and rushed. I heard rustling as if he was moving.
"Yeah Jack, it's me. I'm sorry I never called I--"
"Oh my god Holly, how are you calling me right now? Are you okay?" He spoke rushed and his voice was laced with worry, causing my brows furrow but I didn't question it. He hadn't heard from me for weeks, he would obviously be overwhelmed with emotions.
Right?
"Um, yeah I'm good. I'm using my friend's phone. Are you alright, bro?" I chuckled, the sound of slightly forced. Jack was acting strange, stranger than usual.
"Fuck, we have been so worried for you! When dad said you were being held captive and they couldn't get to--"
"What?" I sat up from my laying position, my voice sharp as I interrupted Jack from his rant. My father said what? "What the hell are you talking about, Jack?"
"When dad went to the Black Dawn territory, he said that while he was talking Alpha Theo our warriors found that you were being held captive by those monsters." Jack growled through the phone and I felt my heart drop to the ground as I continued to listen to my brother spew the lies my father came up with. "Before they can get to you, Alpha Theo tried attacking dad and threatened to kill you if anyone went near you. That bastard will fucking get it, don't you worry Hollister. I will even do it myself, I got your back."

"No, no, no--"
"It's okay, we will be safe Holly. Dad has been planning to attack at the right moment when they won't see it. Look I'm going to Dad's office no--."
"No!" I growled through the phone, gripping it so tightly that I risked turning Eliza's phone in to dust. She would definitely kill me for that.
"What? Holly--"
"No Jack! You've got it all wrong, go back to your room now!"My voice was coming out rushed.
"What do you mea--"
"Go!" I ordered him, my voice rocked the room for a millisecond as I roared through the phone. My blood was pumping and I felt hot. There was rustling in the phone as Jack made his way back to his room. After I heard a door shut, he spoke again;
"Okay Holly, I'm back in my room. What's the matter?"
"Dad is lying to you, Jack. He came to the pack yes, I saw him I spoke to him."
"What? What are you on about? He said he never--"
"He lied to you, Jack! He fucking lied, don't you get it?" I couldn't wrap through my mind why my own father would lie to his pack, lie to his own blood about his daughter being held captive against her life as well as planning an attack that could die hundreds of pack members.
"Why would he lie about seeing you Holly, no I don't get it so tell me." I wanted to scream in the phone, I wanted to crush the damn thing in my fist but I chose against it. Again, Eliza would absolutely slaughter me.
"Because, I chose to stay--"
"Why the fuck would you do that? Are you a fucking idiot, they will kill you the second they have the chance." I rolled my eyes, he was being melodramatic.
"No they wouldn't." I heard him scoff in the phone, the sound so familiar to almost made me laugh. Annoying him was one of my favourite past times.
"And why the fuck not?" I couldn't help but smile at the number of profanities he was throwing around. I really learnt from a master.
"Because I'm Alpha Theo's mate." The phone line went silent. It was so silent I had checked to see if Jack had hung up multiple times.
"What?" His voice was soft now, almost a whisper as if he was mind-blown at what I had just told him. Honestly, same. "Holly, are you serious?"
"Yes and before you rant about how he's a monster, trust me he's not the monster you should be worried about."
"Holly oh my god, that's fucking fantastic!" Even ecstatic Jack will swear to the heavens. That ladies and gentlemen is my big brother. "I'm so bloody happy you have no idea!" A smile erupted on my face listening to my brother's instant approval, his reaction must different from our fathers. "But, if that's the case then why is dad raging war against your mate?"
I sighed, laying back on the couch as I rested my palm on my forehead, the heat almost scorching. This conversation was giving me a headache with the power of a thousand suns.
"I think that is better explained in person. Please when you can, come to the Black Dawn pack you can bring Lia."
"I don't know Holli--"
"Please Jack. This is important. It's about dad and you really need to hear it." I still didn't know if he knew, by his reactions I would assume not and if that was the case then I no longer wanted my brother in the dark of the things our father has done.
I heard a sigh coming from his end of the call before he spoke again. "Okay Hollister, I'll try to come as soon as I can so keep a room warm from Lia and I."
"And Jack,"
"Yeah?"
"Whatever you do, do not tell dad you're coming," I spoke as if his life depended on it.
And who knows, maybe it does.

Rage: Crisis / Consequence / ???
Its been ten years since Seth was given his powers, ten years since his town was driven mad by that very same power, and ten years since its source was shunted into his head. A species of energy beings, a people filled with regret for what their entrance onto this world caused. Regret for the deaths that town perpetuated, the devastation they brought, the blow they served to the once proud heroes of this world. Heroes Seth now hopes to join, hopes to heal and atone to for what transpired. But their wounds run deep, their ire sharp, and their acceptance thin. And to top it all off... Seth's power is run far deeper than he knows, and sees his world in a light all its own. This series is my first foray into authoring, with two parts out of at best four if the readership stands. But part three will still book end nicely otherwise. And I'm not stopping till then. It is action heavy with varied and ramping up fight scenes through out. (Book 1 is heavy / Book 2 a little lighter) It is bloody in places, mildly gory in others, and heavily gory in simulated places. Nothing truly horrifying, I think, but be warned. It has trauma. PTSD is a major part of the story, but I will never trust that I got it completely right, so your mileage may vary on how believable or impactful it is. Lastly it has language. Swearing ebbs and flows as the story progresses and attitudes harden or soften. Sometimes bleeding through into the narration... somehow.
