《Love at First Fight》Occupational Hazard

(Y/n)'s POV
I lay in bed a long while after I wake up, not yet wanting to relinquish the peace that I have in this bed. Gally doesn't know that I know he's awake as well both of us pretending to be asleep, so we can enjoy a few more minutes of quiet peace. The image of Ben being pushed out into the maze is a hard one to push out of our heads.
Gally couldn't sleep all last night therefore neither could I, so these few moments of almost sleep were very much appreciated. I finally forced my eyes open when I felt Gally shift his body now facing me. "Do we have to get up?" I ask him pleading with my eyes he sighs "we can skip breakfast if you want, but that only gives us an extra twenty minutes," he says wrapping his arms around me.
I nod and bury my head in his chest, "I hate this place," I say as I cuddle in. I feel Gally stiffen at the words "(Y/n) this is our home," he tells me frustrated that I would dare despise this place. "This isn't our home, this is our prison. We were sent here to die," I tell him pulling back. Gally shakes his head "Is that what we've been doing?" he asks in a rude tone causing me to furrow my brows.
"Gally, do you really believe we can have a life here? A family?" I ask shocked that he's so blind to what this place is. "Why couldn't we?" he asks causing me to scoff "because they'd be doomed like all the other gladers to spend their lives alone, and scared of what's out there. Doomed to search for a way out," I tell him frustrated that he was so stubborn that he wouldn't think that I could be right.

Gally is getting red in the face at this point and becomes silent ignoring me. "Are you really going to ignore me?" I ask raising my voice at this point. "What do you want me to say for shuck's sake this is all we know and you're acting like it's a pile of dung," he tells me his voice raising as well. I narrow my eyes at him "I changed my mind I will go to breakfast," I tell him leaving the room alone and storming off towards work instead of the mess hall.
With every slice, I feel better taking out my anger on my work, but of course, you should never mix range with knives. As I bring the knife down I let out a scream of pain, my anger had made me be careless and the knife had taken off the top part of my left index finger. Winston runs in to see me clutching my finger. He had concern etched across his face, but of course, this wasn't the first time this had happened.
Winston all but carry me to Clint and Jeff, and Gally meets us before we're even in the door. "What the hell happened!?" Gally demands "I think it's obvious I shucking cut off apart of my damn finger," I tell him clutching the finger tightly. Gally shuts up but stands by me not budging even a bit. When Clint starts to disinfect my finger I feel tears trickle down my face and I try to stop from yelping.
I almost feel relieved when the needle begins sewing up the opening. I had chopped it clean at least right down to the knuckle. When the needle hit my finger I felt Gally lace his fingers with my other hand but I fell unconscious shortly after the pain too much.

Gally POV
When (Y/n)'s body went limp, I caught her and laid her down with ease as Clint finished stitching her finger. "What'd you do to make her mad?" Clint asked in the now silent room "What do you mean?" I ask him confused "(Y/n) is the best slicer she's probably better than Winston. She only ends up in here if she's mad and gets careless," Clint explains causing me to sigh.
"It was just a stupid fight," I tell him looking at the (h/c) haired girl unconscious with a furrowed brow even in her sleep. "Minho said that too once," Clint said before wrapping her finger and leaving me alone with her. Clint's words sent fear through me like no other "I'm sorry (Y/n) I love you so much. I'm sorry," I tell her laying my head down on her leg as I still hold her uninjured hand.
