《Love at First Fight》Inside a Griever

(Y/n)'s POV

Running into the maze I'll admit felt a little stupid, in the past two days two people from the glade have been stung in broad daylight. Yet here I am running and looking for a dead griever with a bunch of guys who also have never stepped foot into the maze. This more than likely was a horrible plan, and when I make it back to the glade Gally is going to flip out on me.

When Minho stops in front of us and looks down a long corridor we can already see what I can assume is a griever pancake. I stare at it as we approach unable to keep my eyes off of it. My brain couldn't wrap around what that thing was, was it a creature or a robot? Metal insect-like legs reached off the body, yet I could see guts spilling out of the wall too. "That's disgusting," Zart states looking at the mangled body "I doubt it was ever meant to look appealing," I retort moving around to get a better look.

"There's something in there," Thomas says stepping forward and trying to look inside the wall at the remaining crushed body. "You mean besides a griever pancake?" Frypan asks sarcastically for a moment we all stare at the creature. This was the first time any of us had seen one before besides Thomas and Minho. Minho soon moves to step next to the smushed griever "Woah, Woah, Woah, what are you doing?" Zart asks skeptical and nervous about the next course of action.

Minho doesn't answer but sticks his arm into the opening and starts to dig into the guts of the griever for whatever Thomas saw. We all let out screams and jump back when the griever has a reflex to the touch. Minho sticks his arm out protectively over me and I push it off, not wanting his protection. "I thought you said it was dead?" Fry asks staring at the creature caught between the walls. "It could have just been I reflex," I say re-approaching the griever.

"You hope!" Winston tells me looking at me like I'm crazy for convincing him out here. "Come on let's try to pull it out," Thomas suggest grabbing at the metal leg that sits on the ground before us, we all follow suit grabbing onto the grievers leg. We all push on the leg and shortly it gives way, and when it does Minho is the first to approach.

He grabs at some type of organ on the ground and reaches in to take out a piece of metal that seemed to still work out of it. "What the hell is that?" Thomas asks "well, whatever it is can we take this back to the glade? Cause I don't want to meet this guys friends," Fry admits looking around the maze with light nerves. "He's right, come on," Minho says leading the way out of the maze.

Immediately when we exit I'm met with a very angry Gally, and it hurts slightly when he doesn't even look at me. I really pissed him off this time I think to myself as I follow the group into homestead to talk to Gally and Newt about what we found in the Maze. Before we enter though Gally whispers to Newt and falls back to pull me aside.

"What the hell were you thinking!" Gally all but shouts at me his face going red with frustration and anger. "I was trying to be useful," I tell him sending a glare his way "useful? is that what you call nearly getting yourself killed?" he asks fear clouding his eyes and I realize he was scared. "Gally, were you worried about me?" I ask him "oh course (Y/n) for shuck's sake. We've already had Ben and Alby stung all I could think of was you dying out there," he says his tough shell cracking for once.

"I'll always come back to you, okay. I don't die so easily," I tell him pecking his cheek "now come on," I say leading him into the homestead.
