"I kissed Eddie." The words just fell right out. Ryder's eyes were filled with a mix of anger, hurt, and disbelief.

"How dare, you kiss your Luna! Who happens to be mated. I'll kill you!" Ryder roared and Eddie shrunk back but I stood in front of him. Ryder threw a punch but I caught his fist.

"No your not." I said and Ryder's eyes snapped to mine. "I was attracted to him and told him to kiss me. Be a good mate and help me figure out why!" I yelled.

"Mackenzie it's not that easy I-" I cut him off.

"Why is it not easy? What would make it easier for you huh! I love you and you should know that, but for some strange reason, I am pulled to Eddie like I am to you. We need to get people together and figure out why this is happening. " I said and kissed Ryder full on the lips.

"I hope that shows that I love you." I said and he nodded.

"Great! lets get started" i said and Ryder's eyes glazed over as he mind linked pack members.

"Eddie you'll always be an amazing friend to me, I can't wait for you to find a mate and I'm sure she will be lovely." I started but he spoke over me.

"Mackenzie I get it, I would do the same if I had a mate. I'm so thankful I have you as a friend. even if we haven't know each other for a while." Eddie said and I have him a big hug.

Ryder clears his throat and we looked over at him. "I mind linked some pack members to help us research this, I also called our parents." Ryder explained.

"Good." I said and kissed his cheek. "where do we start." I asked.

"We have a library on the third floor well start looking there." He said and we walked together with Eddie to the library.

We looked through books and so did everyone that came, when my parents showed up they had brought books of their own.

"Hi sweetie." My mom said and I hugged her.

"We brought some of grandpas books to try to figure this out." My dad explained. I took one of their books and flipped it open.

"Mack I think I found something." Eddie said, he was looking I a book I read when I was younger, from my grandpa, but back then I thought it was all fictional.

"It says that only a female wolf can have two mates, but most times her second mate isn't always the true mate." Eddie began. I took the book an looked at the part Eddie was reading.

If a female wolf is already fully mated, but feels an attraction towards a different male that second male could be her other mate. Unless the female was in a terrible accident and both males were present. She would have a mate bond with her first mate, but just a blood bond with the other mate. If it's just a blood bond, a kiss won't feel electric like a mates kiss. It also means that the male in the blood bond also has a mate.

"Yes!" I said and Ryder came up to me.

"What is it." He asked.

"The book says that if I was in a terrible accident, and you and Eddie were present then, Eddie and I just have a blood bond. You and I have the mate bond." I said and Ryder picked me up and spun me around.

"But." I said and Ryder put me down.

"But what." He asked.

"The only way I find out he's just a blood bond is by kissing him to see if it's electric." I said and Ryder's smile diminished.

"No." He said and I groaned.

"Well it's not your decision." I said and his eyes turned black. Jasper was in control.

"I'm your alpha and you will obey me." He growled.

"No your my mate. I can make my own decisions, this being one of them." I snapped. Jasper locked his eyes on mine. I stepped closer to him.

"I'm your Ryder, but I need to figure this out. Think of it as if you were Eddie, you would want to know. Right?" I exclaimed. Jasper didn't answer.

"Right?" I asked again. I got a small nod and I kissed him.

"Good." I said breaking away from the kiss and smiled. His eyes were back to normal so it was Ryder in control.

"Are you okay with this Eddie?" I asked looking back over to him.

"I'm fine with it. But what if we are just blood bonds?" He asked.

"Then you can still find a full mate, but if we had the mate bond, than I'm your mate and you don't get another one." I explained.

"Ready?" I asked.

"Ready." He confirmed. I leaned into Eddie and he leaned into me. I kiss him and he kissed me back. I wrapped my arms around his neck and he put his hands in my hips.

I felt no electricity. Just a strong pull. I broke away and looked at Ryder and his anxious face was awaiting an answer.

"I didn't feel any. did you?" I said and he shook his head. I squealed with joy and gave him a huge bear hug. Ruder cleared his throat so I turned to him and jumped in his arms. He spun me around and he leaned down to kiss me. I cupped his face with my hands and he put his hands on my hips.

"I love you." I said when we broke away.

"I love you more." Ryder said and I had a huge smile.

"Yay! Happy ending!" Riley squealed and we all laughed.

"Not really." Ryder said and I looked at him.

"Before you came to me with the news, Hunter had threatened to kill you Mack. He was going to attack but we don't know when or where." Ryder said and I stepped back, shock and fear spread across my face. I know I am trained now, but he almost killed me the last time. He was actually capable of killing me.

"Mackenzie your gonna be okay." Eddie said from behind me putting a hand in my shoulder but I shook him off.

I just stood there with a blank expression on my face. Ryder put his hand on my cheek, he was looking right into my eyes.

"I'm not going to let anyone hurt you." He said lowly. I knew he hated Hunter, and I did too, but all I can really think about right this second is Hunter, hurting or killing Ryder, then going after me. I could probably beat him, but if he told me that Ryder was dead, I wouldn't be able to stand.

"Mackenzie please look at us." My mom pleaded, she was probably just as scared as me, after she just heard the threat that her only child might be killed. I still stood there. Frozen.

"Ryder what if you get hurt, but cant protect me anymore? I won't be able to fight not knowing if you are okay." I said and Ryder kissed me.

"I'm not separating from you like last time. I'm staying by you, I don't want to risk you going off alone and not coming back. But Mackenzie I need you to promise me something." Ryder said coming closer to me. It felt like we were the only people in the room, but in reality there was probably 20. "You need to promise me, that if I somehow die, you still try your best to stay alive. I won't die happily if I know that my mate died because of me." Ryder commanded.

"Ryder I can't-" I got cut off. "Yes you can Mack, I need to know. Promise me." He said lowly.

"I promise." I said and a tear slipped out of my eyes. "Good girl." He said wiping away the tear.

"All of you downstairs. Im calling a pack meeting and need everyone here." Ryder said in his alpha tone, which made everyone practically fight to get out the door.

"I need to have the pack be aware that there might be an attack and that all males will be trained instead of school. I will talk to them about closing the school for a bit. I won't have anything happen to you." Ryder exclaimed.

We walked downstairs hand in hand to see the whole pack in our giant backyard waiting to hear the news of their Alpha. Ryder and I went on top of this stand, where Ryder stood to give important announcements.

I swallowed my fear to look confident if from of my pack members. They needed to think that their Luna was strong. No one was looking at Ryder as he told them about Hunter and his threats. They were all looking at me.

Most of the mothers had sympathy and fear in their eyes. The men mostly had looks of anger, not towards me, but Hunter. Ryder continued on talking and I made eye contact with Riley. She looked as scared as I felt. I looked around trying to find someone familiar, until I got this burning feeling in my chest making me fall to my knees.

It felt like someone was pressing a rock on my chest and that it was creating a fire inside me. I held my chest as I was on my knees. The men in the pack surrounded around me and the women were worried but couldn't do anything because of the wall of males around me.

"Mackenzie what's wrong?" Ryder asked, he had knelt by me and was holding me.

"Now this is a sad ending." I heard someone say and then they laughed.

Ryder ears perked up as the voice spoke again. "she is going to die Ryder." and I recognized the voice.

"Hunter." Ryder growled deeply and Jasper was out.

I couldn't see him and I don't think anyone else could either. I looked around to see a silhouette in the sky coming down.

Hunter had jumped from a distance away and landed right i front of Jasper and I. ( A.N if you didn't know Jasper is in control) Making the pack members around me fly out and away. Hunter stalked up clanking his shoes against the wood.

"What did you do to her!" Jasper roared and I flinched.

"You know what I had injected into her, ya well I control of she can breathe or if she cant. Now if you kill me, she dies." He said and I wanted to slap him, but if he was the reasoning for this burning in my chest, what could we do.

"Please stop." Jasper croaked his voice cracking. First time I've ever heard that happen.

" how pitiful. I've finally found the big strong alphas biggest weakness." Hunter said evilly.

I heard shifting and knew that make wolves were shifting to protect their Luna. Hunter howled then whistled and hunter wolves and guardian wolves and just regular wolves dispersed from the trees by our backyard.

I felt so weak. I could barely move. but I was still counting on the shred of me that could move. I slowly got up, grunting with every move made.

"Stubborn girl." Hunter said and I fell back down and Ryder came to my side. I tried and got up again, then looked Hunter right in the eyes.

"Bastard." I snarled. I made an sharp ice point and flung it at him. He dodged it but I grazed the side of his head, cutting his hair. He put his hand up to his head and glared at me evilly. Jasper was ready to pounce on him, but stayed back still making sure Hunter couldn't control me.

I flinched at the burn in my chest, but I tried to forge about it. I can't die, Ryder wouldn't be able to live without me and this pack would become Hunters. I can't let that happen.

So if this bitch wants a war. He's gonna get one. And go through hell with me.
