《Pinky Promise Kisses (Jevon)》First of Many

My eyes flutter open as the light shines down in my face through a window. I look around and find I'm in Devon's bed. I also feel that Devon's grip lasted throughout the night. I don't move as to not wake him up from his sleep. The minutes fly by until he finally wakes up. I press my eyes shut so he doesn't notice I'm awake. It takes him a while to retract his arm from around me, until he brings his arm close to him and roles over. He gets up a few seconds later and leaves the room.
"Holy shit" I whisper to myself. I had just slept with Devon Evans. Not like that, but I slept with him and he had his arm around me all night. My mind went back to what he told me last night. Was there a possibility? No. He doesn't. He wouldn't..., would he? Just then he comes back into the room and I try my best to "wake up". I don't think he knows I know and I don't want his to be embarrassed about it.
"Good morning" he says as he gives me a smile. His smile was beautiful. It was my favorite part about him. Every time I saw him with a smile I just wanted to soak it all in, but now as he gives it to me and me only I just want to melt.
"Good morning" I exchange with a smile as well. We stay like this for a while. He stands in the door way as I stay rolled up in his blankets, smiling.
"I uh I was gonna ask you if you wanted breakfast?" He stutters out coming back to reality.
"Um yeah-yeah I would like that" I respond.
"Cool"
"Cool"
I unwrap myself from the blankets and my feet hit the cold floor shooting a shiver up my spine. I immediately get my socks from the previous day and slip them on. He laughs at my expression and cold feet. I them follow him out of the room and I to the kitchen. While walking to the other part of the house my nose was filled with a delicious sent. In the kitchen we found Kim, his mom, flipping pancakes over the stove.

"It smells amazing ma'am" I say as me and Devon sits at the island in the middle of the kitchen.
"Thank you Jake" she says while handing me a plate with a stack of the pancakes in it. "I'm gonna be leaving soon so when you boys are done eating please clean up" she says before departing.
Me and Devon sit in silence as we eat. "So um...how'd you sleep?" He breaks the silence.
"Good I guess" I recall the previous night, his arm wrapped around me throughout the night. "You?"
"Same" he smiles. I hope because of me and him. "So I was thinking after we can go the the park" he says "if you want".
"Yeah"
———
The sun is covered by the thick clouds and the leaves are gray. Devon brought a blanket from his house for us to lay on. We stair up into the sky and talk. Our topics changing often, moving from our classes to how much we hate my third period math teacher Mrs. Duncan. Occasionally his hand would brush against mine. My body would get warm and my cheeks would heat up.
"I hate when she talks about some other random crap instead of actually trying to teach..." he goes on and on about the teacher. I instead turn my head to the left. I admire his looks in silence. He was beautiful. The way his eyes sparked when they hit the light, the pink turned top of his nose due to the cold air on his skin, his smile when he laughed, all of it. There was nothing about him I did not like.
That's when it happened. The gray clouds should have warned us, but it began to sprinkle. I first noticed when I felt a droplet on my chin.
"Did you feel that?" I asked him. He shook his head before one fell on him as well.
Just then more and more drops came falling from the sky. "Crap" I exclaimed.

We shoot up from the ground as the rain started to come down harder. Devon grabs the blanket and we start to run. As the rain becomes heavier by the minute, all we can do is laugh. We arrive back to his house drenched and cold.
When he opens the door we run into the warmth. "Take your shoes off and change into something warmer please" he says to me as I look like a mess. I liked when he acted like a parent.
I did. as he told me and followed him into his room. I took my backpack into the other room to change. I come back out in my sweater and meet him in the living room. He's in the kitchen while I sit on the couch bundled up in a thick blanket.
"D'you want anything to drink?" He asks me while getting a mug out for himself.
"You got any tea?" I ask him. He smiles and lets out a little laugh.
"You like tea?" He asks again.
"Yes..." I was puzzled. God is he some kind of tea hater or something?
"You're such an old person" he jokes. I let out a heavily over dramatic gasp as to pretend to be shocked and offended. "I am not!"
"What kind ya what?" He laughs
"You got green?"
"Yup"
The sound of the coffee maker drowns out the rain tapping on the windows. He brews me my tea and him some coffee. He also brings over a bowl of bright green grapes. We go back to his room to finish Vampire Diaries.
———
His bed was cold...which is why I took most of the blanket from him. He had gotten mad at me for pulling it off of him but you can't blame me. It's cold as fuck. I sip my warm tea and occasionally slip a grape in my mouth with my eyes focused on the screen. Unknowingly both me and him go to grab a gray at the same time. I grip onto two of his finger before quickly retracting our hands.
Our necks snap and we become face to face. I could tell just by the warmth that my cheeks were bright red. "I-I...Im sorry" my apology was weak and broken up as I mumbled. I turn my head to face the screen, but he doesn't.
"Jake" he says softly. I turn my head to face him again.
We stay silent for a moment as we stair into each others eyes. I hear his breaths along with the rain on the glass. I know it's coming and he does to. He leans in slowly as I do forward. Our lips connect and sparks fly. It was everything I imagined and more. He was soft and smooth. He tasted of coffee and fruit .
We break away for a moment. His eyes glimmer as he grins. I lean in again and press our lips together again. He falls back and I on him. My hand moves up from my side to his cheek, cupping it. I smile as we kiss. He wraps his arms around my waist and presses our bodies closer and closer together. His hands make their way up my back as he grips my sweater. We begin to get loser and rougher with the kiss before my phone buzzes.
We break apart again before laughing. "Ive wanted to do that for so long." He says "I've wanted to do this longer" I reply. "I have" he says before placing another kiss on my lips. My phone buzzes again. "I should check that" I say and he agrees.
It was from my dad who said he wanted me home because my cousin was coming over for diner.

The idea came from my love of hero stories, but the lack of relatable heroes. By that i mean there were no, or few heroes that dealt with weight gain. Something I have and am dealing with after leaving the Marine Corps. So Fat Boy Hero was born. Check out the link below to listen to an episode of The Round Table Podcast where I brainstormed the idea with the hosts and special guest Michael underwood. http://www.roundtablepodcast.com/2013/03/workshop-episode-53-guest-host-michael-r-underwood/ This book is a side project and will be updated as time permits. I hope you do not find this too off-putting.

Red Clay Technical Services: Mercenaries, Magicians, and Marketing
Bobby likes Pabst Blue Ribbon, NASCAR races, and throwing fireballs. A through and through Georgia boy, raised down in the sticks but now working with all things mystic. He is, in other words, a magician. Not just any magician- but one bound by the most egregious of terms: business contracts. See, a long time ago, Bobby got himself involved with a dragon whose business was making magicians, and Bobby wanted magic to be his business. Both of them having common interest, Bobby agreed to sign over his services in exchange for phenomenal (draconic) magic. A pretty awesome deal, right? The contract put him at the top percentage of human magicians, on top of having the backing of a dragon patron, and a fantastic set of benefits befitting an esteemed contractor, so it'd be smooth sailing from then on, right? Not so. That kind of power isn't granted without strings attached, and Bobby's practically bound up in them. Following the esoteric laws set forth by magicians , juggling them with the mortal interests he still has to abide by, and finding himself at the beck and call of a fickle and opaque patron makes his life as a magician a rollercoaster of ups and downs. But when his patron sets him on a strange task- with stranger company, no less, even Bobby has to question what his mission really is. Delving into fantastic crimes and cracking open mysteries is just the least he can do, and he'll do it with the help of his gun, his wand, and his trusted allies both large and small. --- Cover art is of the Georgia Guidestones. Chapters released on a semi-regular basis, at least one every two weeks, sometimes more. Also published on Offprint.net, Webnovel, and Scribblehub under the same title!
