《QUIRKY! (MHA x Reader)》Part 34 - Charmed

Midnight was practically growling the entire way back to Monarch's greenhouse. She wasn't upset with you (you didn't think so anyway...) but she could hardly say a few words in the car.
After hours of explaining what went down last night to Monarch, Aizawa, Midnight, and even All Might, you were positive your internship was over. Monarch spent another hour with your aunt, and whatever was said granted you permission to continue with his training.
With a few exceptions.
Since Shigaraki knew where to find you, they assumed he knew you interned in this part of town, and probably about Monarch too. Creepy, but it made sense.
So, you couldn't take public transportation anymore and Midnight agreed to let you stay at Monarch's. So long as he had all of his subordinates at the facility at all times.
"Call me." Was all Midnight could say before squeezing you into a death hug. The entrance to the greenhouse was lined with foot soldiers - men and women dressed in matching polka dot uniforms. If this was supposed to scare Tomura away you weren't sure it would work...
"All things considered," Monarch swooped in and ushered you inside, "this worked out perfectly!"
"I guess..." you snorted, "What are we doing today?"
"Eager are we? Why don't you change into something athletic - not jeans. Meet me back in here in twenty minutes."
You agreed, and went up to your new room for the week to drop off your bag and change. The bed looked even more tempting than yesterday. To be honest, you didn't sleep at all last night.
The music box survived the attack yesterday, you noted as you emptied your backpack. Your phone, however, had a nice new crack from being dropped in the alley.
"Stupid villains..." you frowned. Just then, you were receiving a call. You expected your aunt or maybe Shinso, but to your surprise it was Midoriya.
"H-hey?" you answered, "Didn't think I'd hear from you so soon. What's up?"
"Hi, (Y/N)," his sweet voice made you a little cheery, "I just talked to All Might and I guess I was just worried..."
"Oh... he told you what happened?"
"I don't mean to be nosy! We just care about you, that's all!"
You smiled, "It's okay. It was scary but I had plenty of help. I just feel paranoid now is all."
"Right. Makes sense. I didn't think he'd come after you alone like that, it doesn't seem like something he'd do."
"He did have someone. Aizawa wasn't able to catch him, though."
"No way... still it- it just seems out of character. I feel like if he wanted to kidnap you he would make a big show of it. He wants the League of Villains to be known and has these big, chaotic plans. Just seems odd to me.... B-but more importantly - you're okay!"
"I agree. It isn't the first time he's approached me like this. I'm not even sure what he wants from me."
Izuku sighed, "Neither do I, but we're not going to let anything happen to you."

You giggled, "You're sounding more like a hero everyday, Deku."
He was silent for a second, causing you to laugh some more, "How is your internship going? No surprise villain attacks?" You asked.
"Oh, it's okay... I spent all night trying to climb a wall with my quirk. Gran Torino is a weird old guy, but so fast! I can't land a hit on him!"
"Speaking of, I have to get back to Monarch. I hope you get to learn some cool new tricks!"
"You too... call me, o-or anyone! You know, if you need us."
"You too." You hung up. Somehow, you felt better after your little chat. It was nice to hear from your classmates. It hadn't been that long but you kind of missed them. Their quirky energy brought a light even in the more dire of moments.
Maybe later you could check on everyone else? You still hadn't spoken to Todoroki or Bakugo much since the party. And Iida...
You set your cracked phone aside and changed into workout clothes. For now, you had to focus on becoming stronger.
"Ah, ready for conditioning!" Monarch beamed.
"Sure, what you got?"
"A temptress like yourself has to stay in tip-top shape. While your looks may be deceiving to your enemies, you can use that to your advantage! No one will suspect the pretty girl to pack a deadly punch! Here's our routine for the next two hours."
You underestimated the slender butterfly man. He didn't go easy on you. He was almost as bad as Aizawa. One of your activities was climbing trees and jumping from branch to branch. You got so exhausted on your last jump that you actually slipped.
Monarch caught you midair, "Never fear, child. I'm basically a safety net, so we can go on forever!"
"Oh, goodie..."
After that was over, he let you relax and hydrate. That was just the warm-up? You sat down on the ground.
Monarch tossed you a peach. It smelled so sweet even before you broke the skin with your teeth. "Thanks!"
"I can't have you passing out," he grinned, "Not when we have so much to do!"
You ate the entire fruit until nothing but the pit remained. When you finished, you rubbed your sticky fingers on your leggings. "More dancing?"
"Maybe! I do want to test your vocal skills, though."
"Why singing?" You laughed, "I sound terrible. I'm guessing - since I never sing."
"It doesn't hurt to try," he insisted, "Your mother was able to use her voice, her body... Don't look at me like that! I meant dancing! ... Not that kind of dancing! It was very tasteful!"
"Uh huh..."
"What else have you noticed about your quirk? Besides taking energy?"
You thought for a minute, "Oh, after a villain attack, I sort of went through a change? Midnight said I had pheromones coming off me like I was soaked in perfume. I'm able to control that now."
"Interesting," he smirked, "baiting your victims... Have you tried using it?"

"Not on purpose..."
"Why not?"
"I don't know. I already have a problem with kissing people - it seemed like overkill."
"Oh, deary," he pinched his brow, "You don't have to feed the beast just because he smells dinner. That's just a tactic to weaken them - distract them."
"I didn't think about it that way..."
"That's what I'm here for. Don't be afraid to use the gifts given to you, especially if you really want to be in this hero business. Distracting your enemies is a valuable tool, especially when working against large numbers."
"I want you to practice on my henchmen," he said simply.
"Your what?"
A few polka dot soldiers appeared behind Monarch. He was looked pretty pleased with himself, almost sinister with his sharp eyebrows, "There are four enemies now. You don't have the energy to take them all on - what do you do?"
Oh, crap - he's serious!
You hadn't used your pheromone ability on command before - only contained it. Monarch wasn't giving you a second to figure it out. The polka dot suits lunged at you. All you could do was roll away, and hide yourself in the vast garden that surrounded you.
"Don't wait too long, sweetling!" Monarch called, "Better figure it out fast!"
His "henchmen" were quick. They zipped through the greenhouse with ease, knowing the layout by heart. They'd find you any second.
Okay... activate love spell? How? Do something, body!
You relaxed. Just stop restraining it. You were relieved when you finally learned how to turn it off the first time. Hopefully, it obeys you again.
It felt like a full-body tingle. You felt lighter, somehow. You weren't entirely sure if you could control its outreach, but you focusing on releasing as much of the spell as possible.
I'm like a skunk or stink bug... except more pleasant.
You revealed yourself from your hiding spot - stepping back out into the open where Monarch was. His brow raised, noticing a difference in the room.
It wasn't until his men came back that you could see the effects of your spell. They looked sleepy, or drunk, and had flushed faces. Their movements were sluggish and inconsistent, almost like they were deciding if attacking you was something they really wanted to do.
"Bravo," Monarch waved his men down, "I think that worked nicely."
"You think so?" you kind of doubted it.
"A lot of my own abilities involve stunning my foes. Anything to give you the upper hand, dear."
"I haven't actually seen you use anything but flying, Monarch," you said, "What else can you do?"
Monarch chuckled. His flamboyant, fun persona evolved into something actually threatening. Your body tensed up; instincts to protect yourself kicking in.
You watched in horror and slight disgust as he extended his tongue out. The normal pink color turned black, and it grew like Pinocchio's nose and ended with a sharp point.
The dude literally had a sword coming out of his mouth.
He reeled his weapon back in, like a fruit roll up, "I can use it to inject various venoms. And it's pretty pointy."
You shivered, "Freaky... Kind of like a mosquito."
"Not fond of blood," he shrugged, "I enjoy sweeter things."
The image of him sucking someone dry made you gag. It reminded you a little of Stain's quirk - how he used his long tongue to taste people's blood, and they suddenly became paralyzed.
"Your little trick won't freeze anyone or knock them out - we'll call it a charm. I wouldn't be shy to use it next time you're in a pickle," he said.
"I almost hate agreeing with you," you gave a shallow laugh, "Did my mom have something like that?"
"Yup! Which is why I think you have more witchy magic in you."
"You really want me to sing and dance don't you..."
You ended the night the same as the last with a shower and dinner with Monarch. This time, you actually got to sleep in the room. The mattress felt like a marshmallow cloud you could sink into forever.
You text your aunt, letting her know you were alive. It was weird to you how safe you felt around Monarch now, and you hardly knew him. Except...
When you heard the music box he gave you, a small memory of orange wings came to mind. It wasn't only you mother's face you saw.
It frustrated you that you couldn't recall anything else from that time in your life. You were a toddler after all, but it would make the restless feeling inside you go away. If she was so evil, how could she have loved?
Your phone vibrated. It was a text from Izuku. When you opened it, you scrunched your face in confusion. All it was was his location.
"Hosu?" you muttered. Not far from where you were. But what was he doing there? Why would he send you his location and nothing else? No words - no explanation. Was it a mistake?
You had an unsettling feeling in your gut. Something felt wrong when you considered brushing it off. He hadn't done anything like this before.
And you had done something very similar the other night with Monarch when you needed help on the train...
Was Izuku in trouble?
When you tried to call him, it instantly went to voicemail. "Dammit, Izuku..."
You sent out a few texts just to see if anyone else received something similar. The first to respond was Todoroki, but all he said was -
So, it wasn't just to you. Was it to Izuku's whole contact list then?
It wasn't far. You could investigate no problem. And if it was nothing then it was nothing!
You groaned - like hell Monarch was going to let you go out again at night. But maybe...
Monarch's head snapped up from the kitchen table when he heard your feet thundering down the stairs.
"Good, you're still here!" You gasped, "I have a huge favor to ask."
