《QUIRKY! (MHA x Reader)》S2 Part 5 - Copycat

"Where the hell is Bakugo?" Jiro asked.
"Probably went rogue," you sighed, "At least Kirishima went with him..."
"He better not do anything crazy," she paused as if realizing her mistake.
She plugged her ear-jack into the adjacent wall. You crouched next to her while keeping a lookout. The arena was massive, but you didn't know who on their team had super speed or super stealth.
At least when you trained with your class you knew what to expect.
"I hear someone. Maybe two," she whispered.
You looked up at the rafters inside the building you took refuge in. Izuku and Toru were taking the high ground to keep an eye on you.
You raised two fingers to them to indicate Jiro's findings. Each team that split up - minus Bakugo's - had at least one person good at detecting enemies from a distance. The plan was to avoid confrontation until you reached their base and fight like hell on the way back.
That meant stealth-mode for everyone.
Tokoyami, Aoyama, and Mineta were the last line of defense at your base. Aoyama could easily alert your team in case the flag was stolen by sending a pillar of light in the air. Mineta and Tokoyami seemed like the best bet in either warding off intruders or trapping them in place.
The rest of you moved in waves, in an effort to avoid a mad dash back to base. At least one group would get there to help in time if there was a breach. Izuku also had an idea similar to a baton race, but honestly, you expected just about anything to disrupt your plans.
"They're going the wrong way," Jiro explained, "We probably don't have to worry about intercepting them."
You nodded, "Let's keep going then."
You stuck to the shadows. All of your senses heightened, like an animal, but you weren't sure if your brain registered you as prey or predator. Both? You reached the end of the building and had to cross to get to more cover.
Jiro plugged into the ground this time, "Nothing nearby... it's almost too quiet."
You gripped her shoulder and pulled her back, "Wait."
"What is it?"
"I..." your ears perked up, "I dunno."
"Could be one of them making noise?" She nodded upwards.
You waited a moment and shrugged. The two of you prepared to sprint to the next structure, when Jiro suddenly screamed. You whipped around but she completely vanished.
"What the hell," you readied yourself for an attack, "Jiro?"
You could hear movement, but it was strange, it didn't sound like footsteps on solid ground.
"(Y/N)!" Izuku shouted from above. He blew his cover, you thought. He must've seen what happened, and it isn't going to be good.
"Did you see where Jiro went?" you asked, trying not to get surprised by anyone and pivoting in circles.
"Stay in the middle of the room!" he said.
What? You complied, but that made no sense. Wasn't the point to stay out of sight?
"Someone's manipulating the shadows - I think," Izuku jumped from the rafters and landed next to you. Green sparks sprung from his boots.

"What about Toru?"
"She'll be okay. She's gone to scout ahead - they won't see her."
You nodded, "Alright. Let's find Jiro, quick. She seriously just disappeared..."
Izuku quickly reached for your hand. You didn't have to question him. His quirk activated just as yours did and you stole as much energy as you needed. Your skin and hair glowed a similar green to his. Electricity pumped through your veins, and you were itching to release it.
"Isn't this cute!" you heard Monoma cackling from somewhere in the building, "Sharing is caring, but I didn't think class 1-A was so generous."
The blond, phantom boy revealed himself from behind a pillar, "Now why don't you share that neat trick with a new friend?"
He placed his hands on the ground, and a second later, it felt like an earthquake beneath you. This was his quirk? No... This felt a little similar to someone else's. The earth split, forcing you and Izuku to separate. He leapt away, but couldn't land anywhere flat and lost his footing. You let the ground throw you around a bit, but didn't endure anything more than a few bruises.
Monoma laughed some more, and this time sent a sonic wave towards you. Wait - what? This was almost like Jiro's quirk?
You were pushed back. The ringing in your ears vibrated your eardrums, giving you a headache.
Enough messing around.
You ran through the pain and prepared a nice kick for Monoma's annoying smile. It bothered you that he didn't look the least bit concerned he was about to lose some teeth. Your foot met his arm which he used to block, but nothing happened - to him.
His arm was rock solid. You felt a splitting pain in your shin.
"What's wrong?" he beamed, "Not expecting that? Of course, you didn't!"
"How?" Izuku demanded, "That's Kirishima's move."
You landed on your bottom and quickly used the chance to sweep your leg under him. He collapsed but was back on his feet the same time you were. Izuku jumped in to help, using his popular power-punch.
Monoma's body hardened again, but he was sent flying into the wall, "I've been waiting to try out something of your strength," he said.
"He steals quirks?" you grit your teeth.
"Surprised? No one from class 1-B could possibly have such an interesting ability - right?" His crazy eyes were back.
"He can't be here on his own," you turned to Izuku.
"We're wasting time... which might be his plan," he muttered.
"How do you think he gains quirks?"
"How indeed!" Monoma brushed debris off his coat. He looked frustrated by something, "Now how to use yours..."
Nothing happened, so Izuku moved to attack him again. He was above Monoma, when you noticed a pair of jet-black limbs appearing from the shadows, reaching out to grab him. Monoma was yanked into the darkness and away from Izuku's attack.
His fist collided with the wall, shaking the entire structure.
"What!" Izuku gasped.
"Guys!"
You whirled around, "Jiro?!" You still couldn't see her, but her voice didn't sound far away.

"Plan B!" she said, "You have to keep going! They're keeping us here on purpose! Don't worry about me! If he has Kirishima's move that mean's they've already run into him and Bakugo!"
No way.
"That's right!" Monoma reappeared from nowhere. This time, he had an explosion-murder worthy hit ready for you.
The fire and impact burned your exposed stomach and sent you flying backward. You now had sore, stinging skin patches. The fabric that crisscrossed around your torso was lightly singed and you could smell the pungent smoke.
"Dammit," you grunted. This little shit wasn't getting the better of you. You trained with the real Katsuki. Compared to him, this guy should be a piece of cake.
You brushed yourself off. Monoma was throwing insults again but you ignored it. As you approached, you watched his movements closely. He prepared another explosive on his right side, so you dropped low.
He didn't have time to shield himself this time. Your foot shot upwards, deep into his gut and sent him soaring into the rafters. When his body made a loud crashing sound, you grinned.
"Nice," Izuku beamed, "Let's get Jiro and-" he yelped when a blade nearly missed his head.
A taller, exotic-looking student with features of a green mantis had giant swords protruding from his arms. Where did these guys keep coming from? They were either stalling you or...
You were getting too close to their base?
"Can you handle this?" you asked, "I'll get Jiro."
"You can count on me," Izuku nodded.
It didn't feel great leaving a teammate behind, but it was for the sake of another lost teammate. You crouched down and exploded upwards, grabbing onto some beams leading to an exposed second floor. You could've sworn Jiro's voice came from somewhere up here.
But what was that thing that grabbed Jiro and Monoma?
"Jiro!" you called out.
Your feet were suddenly glued to the floor. Try as you might, nothing worked. It was like you had control of your body but not your clothes? Your shoes were cemented in place while your toes squirmed.
You debated taking them off but felt a pair of hands grab onto your arms. The hands disappeared into your black fabric, but you could still see the arms they were attached to. A face appeared from the shadows closest to you. The first thing you noticed was brilliant white hair and teeth, but the rest of him was darker than ink.
"(Y/N)!" you heard Jiro and saw her running towards you. She had a nice bruise on her forehead, but if anything she just looked meaner and ready to brawl.
She plugged her ear-jack into the floor and violently vibrated the unsteady beams. The other team was jostled from his hiding place and you tore yourself from his grasp.
"Thanks," you ran to her side, "What is this?"
"I don't know, but he can move through the shadows. He disappears or molds to the form he's hiding in..."
"Lovely. Hit him again, I'll finish this."
Jiro nodded and prepared another sonic attack. Try as he might, the student couldn't get back to the shadow fast enough. You took advantage of his staggering and landed a punch - an automatic K-O. His groaning could be heard all the way from the bottom floor as his body lay in a mini crater.
"I'll stay and help Midoriya," Jiro said, "Toru is going to need some muscle, so go on ahead."
"You sure?"
"She's toast if she gets caught, and we spent too much time here as it is. We'll catch up with you," she pointed to her ears, "I'll be able to find you."
"Alright," you reluctantly agreed. You weren't sure how you were supposed to find the invisible girl, but all of this had you thinking you were on the right path, or close anyway.
Jiro pointed towards the direction you were heading earlier, "We agreed to head that way earlier. I can't hear her anymore so I'm worried."
You nodded, and the two of you descended to the bottom again. While you ran ahead, Jiro helped Izuku against the sword-wielding mantis. It was no time to get cocky, you told yourself. If you really were close to their base, it was only going to get rougher from here.
You didn't hesitate like last time. As soon as you left the building, you dashed right into the next and kept going. Stealth was great and all, but you needed to pick things up. Every moment wasted was a moment they got closer to your flag too.
Hopefully, Toru would spot you.
Your legs moved at a healthy speed, regardless of the beating your right took from kicking Monoma. The energy you had helped you ignore the pain, but you didn't want to wear it down just yet. Especially since you left Izuku behind.
The structure you entered had more pillars and poles than it did walls. Your shoes echoed when they hit the floor, and your eyes shifted in every direction, looking out for the slightest sign of movement. It looked like the perfect hideout for a villain encounter, you noted, wondering just how cliche the architects were for these arenas.
You smiled when you heard Toru shouting, "(Y/N)! Over here!"
"Toru!"
"Where are the others, (Y/N)?"
You opened your mouth to answer but stopped. You were probably being paranoid, but you thought Toru would've come running towards you to hug you or something. Especially since she was confident enough to shout at you, and risk announcing yourself to any enemy players. Why don't I hear her anywhere?
There was nothing - just her voice.
A shiver ran up your spine. You flexed your fingers and remained perfectly still, listening for any little creak or the sound of breathing.
"What's wrong, (Y/N)?"
Her voice came from behind you. You could be wrong, but you had a pretty good idea...
You turned sharply with your fist raised. Strong cloth wrapped around your wrist, like a coiling snake, immobilizing it. You cursed internally, as to avoid making the same mistake you had earlier.
Shinso was a few feet away and had one hand on his scarf, tugging your wrist even tighter. You planted your feet into the floor. You had hoped to avoid him for as long as possible, but here you two were.
"How'd you know it was me, kitten?" he asked lightly, his voice back to normal.
