"He turned the camera off!" I shout after seeing the screen turn black. I reach up to my ear, turning the ear piece on, "Kai, are you okay? Please reply fast!"
I groan when I don't hear a reply, looking at Jungkook who was just sitting with his arms crossed on his chest. He looks up at me, a blank expression on his face, "You saw those eyes right?"
I nod, "Those creatures have something to do with all of this."
Bruno sighs, hopping onto my lap, "What do we do now? The Chairman is dead, does that mean all of this is over?"
Jungkook shakes his head, sitting up straight, "It's not over till we free all the people they captured."
I sigh deeply, stroking Bruno's fur.
All of a sudden, the warehouse door bursts open revealing Kai. We immediately stand up, rushing over to him. He closes the warehouse gate, his face a pale colour and eyes not leaving the ground. His arms were shaking and his legs were wobbling. In his left hand was an array of papers.
Jungkook immediately grabs his arm trying to help him gain balance. Not a word is spoken from any of us until Kai is sat on a wooden chair by the table. He looks up at me, "He poisoned himself."
My eyes widen and so does Bruno's. Kai sighs, breath shaky. He then hands me all the papers in his hands, which I try to go through.
My eyes widen when I read a bit of the first one, "This... this is a suicide note."
"Read it out loud," Bruno mumbles.
I sigh, taking a deep breath before starting,
"Whoever is reading this, the first thing you should know is that I, Kim Min-ho, did not know this would happen. I was a victim of many things, the worst of which being my own selfishness and greed which caused me to end up in this situation: dead.
I would like to begin this detailed letter by addressing it to my dear son, Kai. Jong-In, you have been by my side since the day you were born and never once did you ask for anything. I was ecstatic when I heard you, the man whom I assumed was heartless, was actually in love. I think you deserve everything in the world, including this mystery girl. But enough of that, let's get to proper business. It is time for me to come clean.

When I was panicking about the elections and not being able to get votes, I met someone. A livid, horrifying thing, he was. I met him while intoxicated so I never realised what I had done until it was done. I told the thing about my problems, and he agreed to help me, forcing me to sign a contract. I was desperate to win this election, and so signed it, agreeing to his terms. The next day, I woke up, completely unaware of what I had just done. It was not until he came back to visit me the following night that I was able to fully read the contract that he had made me sign while I was drunk and out of it. I decided to stick to it because my signature was still on there; I didn't want him to take the issues to court when it was a crucial time for me and my perfect record could not have a blemish. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, assuming that what he had planned would go according to how I wished and it would not get out of hand.
I was wrong.
Things started spiralling and before I knew it, the deal became more than it was supposed to be. I shall leave the contract with this letter so you will be able to read it, Jong-In. We agreed on trying an experiment on a few people, maybe 20 or 30. But, let me be clear, this was not my idea and definitely not what I wanted. 30 people turned into 300, 300 turned into 3000 and soon the entirety of South Korea had been taken by these creatures. To this day, I am still not sure what they are, all I know is this one, their leader, has something much larger than what you are expecting planned. They were smart, and whenever they did something that I would not approve of, they instantly held the contract up as blackmail. They made sure everything would come pointing back at me in case they got caught.
I was manipulated, used, exploited. I never intended for all of this, but I will take responsibility for it. I have judged myself, finding me to be guilty of the worst sin of all; weakness.

My darling boy, I trust that you will right this wrong and take down this creature, although you shall not be able to do it alone. This is why I got them, the smartest, kindest and strongest people from Korea, Kim Y/N, Jeon Jungkook and Bruno. I am aware of how much she means to you, and thus I chose her. Not only that, but as I do more and more research on her, my opinion on her builds up. She is a strong-minded and smart woman, capable of doing wonders. Jeon Jungkook was a risky choice, but it was one that had to be made. I was friends with the boy's father, and felt like he could achieve many things as his father has. Bruno, one of the best creations our team ever came up with-"
I pause, my eyebrows jumping up as I turn to look at Bruno, "Creations?" I mumble.
Jungkook and Bruno exchange glances before looking back at me. He sighs, "Yes, Bruno is not a dog. He is a robot, built to execute commands and fight. Do you remember who gave you Bruno?"
I shake my head, "I think I just forgot once he died. I was so upset about his death that I blocked out all memories of him. I don't remember how I got him, either."
Jungkook nods, "We don't know either. All we know is that he is not an actual dog."
I widen my eyes, looking at the tiny dog who said nothing except look at the floor. I scoff, "When were you planning on telling me this?"
Jungkook bites his lip, "Soon, but we thought it would shock you too much. We had to wait a while."
"I can't believe you kept that from me." I say, looking at Bruno, "Were you also a robot back then?"
Bruno sighs, "Yes, I was. The reason I was taken away from you was not because I died, but because they needed me as a weapon."
My breath shakes and I calm myself down, continuing to read the letter,
"Bruno, one of the best creations our team ever came up with, a robot dog. He had to be with you, as a source of protection and also as a precaution. This, my son, is your team.
I left all the details on where the people are held as well as what kind of experiments these creatures are doing. Please, son, I need you to correct this horrible mistake I made. Nothing matters more than this. You need to be careful, these creatures know too much, especially their leader. He is truly the epitome of evil.
Now, Kai, I need you to go. Escape from this place, make a plan and then return. Return when you are sure of what to do and how to handle this. Please, make me proud so my soul can rest in peace.
I'm trusting you."

A/N: so I know I haven't updated in ages and I'm sorryy aljsksjdw I just didn't know that ppl would be reading this shit—
but ty for over 2k reads 🥺 I never expected this kind of attention from ppl for this trashy writing but THANK YOU SO MUCH I LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH.
in other more depressing news, I'd like to talk about the topic that needs to be spoken about by anyone, black or not black.
George floyd's death was something I will never be able to forget. yet no matter how many times I see poc being harassed, wrongfully arrested or just straight up murdered, I always have one question; why?
what did these innocent lives, these innocent people do to you for you to be the way you are being towards them?
it's sad. it hurts me. i hate the fact that I don't have a bigger platform to talk about this but I'm doing what I can with what I have.
I will forever believe that black lives matter. they matter today, they mattered yesterday, they will matter tomorrow and forever. they are human beings, skin colour has nothing to do with how you should treat a person.
we are all one race. the human race, so we should stand together.
#blacklivesmatter
love,
