The next part happened in slow motion.

Yun had almost finished the transformation, but something happened. Two beams of lasers fly from behind him, attacking both of his wings and cutting them off. He lets out a bone chilling scream, falling to the ground. The gas around Jungkook had disappeared, making him fall to the ground as well. Kai was quick on his feet, running over and managing to catch Jungkook as he was about to hit the ground.

Bruno was the one who fired the lasers, and was now currently sitting on top of Yun's body so he couldn't move. Bruno was glad he had made it back inside the building in time, but he was afraid it was too late. Yun struggled beneath him, but Bruno was smart. He opens up a compartment located on his own back, and two metal claws came out, extending forwards and holding Yun's arms down.

You were fast, standing up and running to where the two were. Jungkook was completely knocked out, fresh blood all over his face. Kai lays him down on the floor. You sit down, holding Jungkook's head and setting it on your lap. Tears continued to drip down your face as you stared down, unable to move.

Namjoon rushes over, pulling out a handkerchief and wiping the blood off his face. Luckily, the blood had stopped as soon as Yun released him. You sniffle, pushing Jungkook's bangs back as Namjoon wiped at his face. Yoongi also grabs a napkin, swearing before helping Namjoon clean up.

Once done, they sat back, staring down at him. Mizuki presses his fingers to the side of Jungkook's neck before slowly shaking his hand and falling back in defeat. "No... no." You mumble, eyeing his face before attaching your own fingers to his neck. Your breath hitches as you don't hear a pulse, tears coming out of your eyes at an alarming speed. "No, Jungkook, no!" You shout, gripping onto his shirt tightly as your tears stained it.

You breath harder, vision blurred as you look at his lifeless face, "Jungkook... you promised me you wouldn't die. You promised. Don't fucking do this to me, Jeon, you're supposed to be alive. Please... please be alive. I can't win if you're not there, Kook, please." Your breath hitches as you begin to shake.

Tears run down Jin's face as he cups his little brother's face, "Kookie, I'm sorry I couldn't help you." He releases it, silent sobs coming out of his mouth. Jin could feel his heart crumble inside his chest as he watched the life leave Jungkook's body.

You hold Jungkook's face in your hands, lifting it up and pressing your forehead against his. You felt his cold, dry skin touch your own as more sobs began to leave your mouth.

All of a sudden, the same beam of white light began to appear when your foreheads connected. The light grew bigger and bigger, engulfing both of your bodies inside it. Jin's eyes widened and so did everyone else's as they watched you two. Kai held his hands together in anticipation. After a few seconds, the light subsides, leaving the two of you again. You detach your forehead from his, looking down at his cupped face. Your heart drops as you see he hasn't opened his eyes.

A tear left your eye as you stared down in hope.

Within a second, Jungkook's eyes open slowly. Your eyes widen upon seeing them before you mumble, "Jungkook?" He slowly blinks his eyes, staring up at you before a smile breaks out on his face. He slowly speaks, "Yes?"

You breathe out a sigh of relief, detaching your hands from his face and wiping your own tear stained face. He sits up slowly, groaning before looking at you as you hid your face in embarrassment. You attack him, hugging him tight and burying your face in his chest. He smiles wider, wrapping his arms around you as you cried more tears of happiness. "I thought you were dead!" You shout, sobbing. He chuckles, "Come on, there's no way that the Jeon Jungkook can die that easily."

Jin sighs in relief, wiping at his face as well. Jungkook looks up, a wider smile on his face, "Hyung, were you actually crying because of me? I didn't know you loved me that much." Jin rolls his eyes, smacking Jungkook in the back of his head and speaking, "Please go back to being dead."

Jungkook smiles.

"You scared the hell out of us, dude! You didn't have a pulse or anything, I actually thought you had given out on us." Mizuki says, wrapping an arm around Jungkook's shoulder. Jungkook shrugs, smile falling, "I actually thought I was dead too."

"I would prefer you dead, to be honest." Yoongi remarks, a blank expression on his face. Namjoon scoffs, "Yoongi, you were one of the first people to tear up."

Yoongi smacks Namjoon's arm, embarrassment filling his features as he speaks, "That was unnecessary, Joon." Namjoon chuckles, patting Yoongi on the shoulder.

Jungkook gasps, smirking, "I made Min Yoongi cry? No way, you should've gotten a picture, Namjoon!" Namjoon points to his own red eyes before speaking, "I was too busy crying myself!" Kai smiles to himself, not saying a word and choosing to be silently happy.

Jungkook chuckles before looking down at the girl who had attached herself to his chest and refused to let go. Jungkook tightens his arms around you, a wide smile on his face before he mumbles, "Uh, Y/N, you okay?" You scoff, shaking your head, "Of course not, I'm still getting over the mini heart attack you gave me when I couldn't feel your pulse. I am not okay."

Jungkook smiles, his heart fluttering in his chest as he stared down at you.

Mizuki noticed his look and clears his throat, standing up. Everyone's eyes fall on him as he speaks, "Well, Kook is alive and there's a demon sitting there so maybe we should go deal with that?" Jin looks up, "But I wanted to spend more time with Jungkook-" Mizuki coughs, interrupting him. "Take a hint!" Mizuki says, looking at Jin and then you and Jungkook. Jin's eyes widen in realisation, "Oh, okay! Yeah, let's go."

Everyone stands up, beginning to leave. Jungkook gives Mizuki a thumbs up, and he just mumbles, "You owe me one." Before running off with the others.

Jungkook speaks, "When are you gonna get out of my chest?" You sniffle, "When the tears dry." Jungkook rolls his eyes playfully before lifting your head up with his hands and pressing his lips down on yours. Your eyes widen but you give in, feeling his familiar warmth around you.

You smile in content.
