Cole's POV

Lex forced me to go to school the next day instead of letting me take care of her. I refused at first but then she said that if I don't go, she won't rest and take care of herself. She then explained to me why I had to go to school. I grinned and happily went.

"I didn't expect you to go to school" Robin said

"Yeah well Lex forced me to go." I huffed, still annoyed with that fact

"She's got you wrapped around her finger" He chuckles

"Yeah...and I like it." I smiled lightly

I spot Jess and Hailey talking with Chase. Robin and I walk over to them and they all greet us before asking how Lex is.

"She's fine. Just resting." I say

"I heard you play again." Robin chuckles as he looks at Hailey. Her eyes widen and she blushes bright red. She mumbles profanities at herself while looking down. Robin smiles ever so lightly at this. Chase and I don't miss that. We look at each other and smirk. Time to do what I was sent to do.

"So uh Hailey, I have a question." I say. She looks up at me with curious eyes

"I'm pretty sure you've seen a lot of people, yes? Has anybody catched your eyes? Someone special?" I ask her. Her eyes widen and her face goes back to being red. She averts her eyes from me.

"I uh I uhm n-no?"

Stuttering? Check

Roaming eyes? Check

She's lying.

"Really? There's a lot of hot guys in this school, yet you can't find anyone?"

She shrugs and tries not to look at me or the guy beside me. His face was void of emotions like always.

"Well I'm sure you'll find a guy. It's impossible that you'll stay single for long, especially with those looks" I say

"Why do you even care if she gets a guy Cole?" Robin says with slight annoyance in his voice

"Well I pity her. Everyone here is taken except her." I shrug

"And I recall you telling me that relationships aren't your thing" I add

"Robin is strictly just sex." Chase states

"Yup" I glance at Hailey to see her reaction. She was looking deep in thought and looked kinda dissapointed.

"Doesn't mean I'm never gonna date again" Robin rolls his eyes

"Really? I really thought you weren't" I say truthfully. I actually thought he wouldn't date anymore

"I'll date when I find the right girl but that'll be a long time from now." Robin says

"He may be an asshole but assholes need love too." Hailey suddenly says

"Yeah. She's right." He nods. I can tell he's fighting a smile when he hears her speak. We all look at each other and snicker. We all burst into laughter, making Robin look at us in confusion.

"Y-you just admitted. That y-you're an a-a-asshole" Chase says through his laughter. He looks confused for a while until he finally understands. His eyes widen and he glares at Hailey, who smiles at him innocently.

"You little minx." Robin glares at her. It was obviously just a playful glare. I don't think this guy has the guts to get mad at her.

"You better run."

And with that, Hailey ran off with Robin chasing her. Once they left we all face each other.

"We need to get them together." Jess says

"Agreed." Chase and I say in unison

"Lex made me go to school today so I can try and hook them up. She said that I should tell Jess and then you'll handle everything" I say

"She's good for him." Chase says

"Yeah...she'll help him."

"Just like how Alex helped you" Jess says. I smile at the thought. It was really true.

I suddenly get a text on my phone from Mom.

From: Mom

To:Cole

Don't freak out, but Alex is in the hospital.

She actually expects me NOT to freak out? Haha. Funny.

To:Mom

From: Cole

What happened?!?!

From: Mom

To: Cole

She kept vomiting today. Every time she moved even the slightest, she wouls vomit. We soon realized that she wasn't even able to eat anything so, your father and I gave her some sleeping pills and took her to the hospital. The doctors are fixing her up now.

To: Mom

From: Cole

I'm coming.

From: Mom

To: Cole

She says you can't and that you have to finish school first. She told the nurse that she's not accepting any visitors until it's your dismissal time.

To: Mom

From: Cole

Okay okay fine. Please tell her to get better and that I'll be there soon.

I sigh deeply and ruffle my hair. Chase and Jess look at me in confusion and worry.

"You okay Cole?" Jess asks

"Lex is in the hospital." I sigh

"WHAT?!?!" they both yell

"Let's go visit her!!!" Chase exclaims and stands up

"She won't let any visitors in until dismissal time." I sigh again

"Damn that girl." Jess grumbles

I shrug. We all continued our day in anxiousness. We needed the day to just end. We needed to visit Lex.

As soon as the bell rang, I bolted out of my seat and headed straight to my car. Once I'm inside,I spot Chase running to his car with Jess and Hailey. I drive out of there and make my way to the hospital with my friends at my tail. Once we all arrive, we rushed towards the front desk.

"Where's Alexa Brians?!" I practically yell at the nurse

"Room 275" The nurse replies. His eyes were wide with shock. We thank him and rush to her room. We burst through the room to see Lex and my Dad

Lex looked at us with her tired eyes. It looked like she was exhausted. She had dark under eyes and her hair was in a messy bun. Dad was feeding her some yogurt.

"Oh my dear sister." Chase rushes to her side. I snap out of my thoughts and rush to her other side. I take a hold of her hand and was slightly relieved that she wasn't as warm as this morning.

"Hey guys..." she says

"Lex...are you feeling any better?" I ask

"Yeah. A lot better." She says

"God. You see this is what happens when you barely sleep cause of work and then you walk in the fuckin rain for an hour or so even when you know you get sick easily." Jess rambles

"Hey. I gotta earn money." She shrugs

"Alexandria!! Please. Take care of yourself." Chase scolds her. He goes on and on about how she should take care of herself and that her health is very important.

"Guys... I'm fine. I promise. I'll be better by tomorrow." She says

"Please." We all say

"How's project Hart?" She asks. She then coughs roughly for a while before giving us her attention

"In progress I guess." Jess shrugs

"What's project Hart?" Hailey asks

"A project." Chase says dead panned

"Yeah no shit sherlock" Hailey glares

We all laughed. We talked and laughed throughout our whole visit there. Lex was to be released tomorrow and I was planning on going absent no matter what she says. I made a promise to take care of her and that's what I'm gonna do.
