FLUKE
I thought dating a celebrity would be hard since there might be risks of being exposed by his fans or even the reporters, but it became just a normal one for us. Ohm made sure that other people wouldn't be a hindrance to our relationship. Since we both wanted to have our relationship out of the public's eyes, we spent our time together mostly in the comfort of our homes. It didn't mind me at all since I was used to spending my days at home writing.
We had to go out sometimes, but we always made sure that we were unnoticed. It was somehow exciting to do things like a normal couple without any people bothering us for pictures.
However, there would still be instances when fans posted pictures of Ohm taken on places that we had been to together. Good thing there were no pictures of me and him together, so no speculations or any news of him dating a guy.
Although, he assured me that if ever fans mocked our relationship, he would do what he planned to take some action and protect me from being bashed.
Even though he had always assured me of our relationship, I still couldn't avoid being insecure, especially when I see him so close to others. May it be insecurity or jealousy, both were not okay with our relationship.
I thought I would get used to seeing some news articles about him and some so-called celebrities that people speculated to be his girlfriend because Ohm had already explained the whys and hows they happened. However, there was another article that brushed off me. Ohm had told me that I shouldn't worry about it, but the article I saw insisted that they were in a relationship.
This time, the one I read in the morning newspaper even had an article with pictures to prove them right. As I looked at the pictures, I felt like something was squeezing my heart. I knew that the pictures were just edited, but I still couldn't help but feel different whenever I see people show interest in my boyfriend's relationship.

I knew that I would get hurt if I paid attention to any rumors or gossip about my boyfriend and that woman, but I stubbornly read all of them, even the ones on social media. Reading the comments and all, I did not realize I was already crying until I saw drops of water on my phone screen and my eyes started to get blurry.
I put down my phone on the table and got up. I needed to calm myself and think properly. All those were just rumors. I had my trust in Ohm. He was the only one I would believe. I walked to my room and laid down on my bed. I still couldn't control my tears from falling. I remembered the video in which the said actress replied to one of the interviewers that she was seeing Ohm secretly and they were on the point of dating.
Maybe I got so tired from crying and all the emotions I felt drained me that I just let myself to sleep. I hoped everything would be fine when I woke up.

OHM
Wariness would be visible all over my face. As soon as I finished my work around noon, I immediately dialed Fluke's number. He told me the night before that he wouldn't do anything today, so he would try to sleep in, but it was past noon already and it was impossible that he would still be sleeping.
I was typing a message for him when my manager entered the room where I was in. He was somewhat worried about something.
"Ohm."
"Why do you look worried, Prem?"
"Did you contact Fluke?"
I told him that I was going to call Fluke, so he went out of the room for a while to give me privacy.
I shook my head and said, "No. . . He's not picking up his phone. I am very worried now because he usually answers my call after a few rings, but now. . ." I explained and showed him my phone. "I've already called ten times and left a few messages. He didn't answer any of them."

I was confused when he suddenly shoved me his phone. "Look at it."
An article was opened on his browser, and I instantly saw my name written on the header of it.
"What the hell is this?" I asked angrily.
"I don't know. It came out a couple of hours ago. One of the bosses personally called me about it. I already told them it was not true, that what that woman told the media was all wrong. I told them that you would personally call them to clarify the issue." He explained.
"This is crazy!" I exclaimed exasperatedly. "She's not even my acquaintance. How could people believe that kind of news?"
"People will do everything for fame, Ohm." He stated. "She got noticed now because she used your name." I just shook my head in disbelief. "Uh. . . Ohm. . .Do you think Fluke saw the article already?"
That reminded me of what I was doing a while ago. That news distracted me. "Shiya! I have to go to him right now. I need to make sure he's okay."
"Wait!" He called me before I could reach the door. "I'll take you there. You can't drive like that. You're kinda clouded by your emotions right now. You have to reach your boyfriend safe."
He was correct, though. I didn't want to worry Fluke if ever I ran into an accident.
I read the whole article while I was in the car on our way to Fluke's house. I must say that the woman was so brave to risk her career. She dared to lie about this. That was a bold risk and she was taking a very dangerous path.
When I saw Fluke's gate, I opened the car door even if Prem hadn't parked yet.
"Update me about the issue. I'll do some action once I made sure Fluke is okay."
I was about to close the door when he stopped me. "Everything will be fine, Ohm. I'll cancel your appointment tomorrow. Stay with Fluke, okay?"
"Thank you so much, Prem," I said and ran to the gate.
Silence welcomed me when I entered the house. He wasn't in the living room, neither in the kitchen nor the garden. I dialed his number and heard it ringing in the living room. I followed the sound and saw his phone on the table.
"He's here," I muttered.
I headed upstairs to his office, but I saw no one. I only had one place to look -- his room.
My eyes immediately landed on the person lying on the bed hugging a pillow. His back was facing the door, so I couldn't see if he was awake or not. I tiptoed to the other side of the bed to see him. My heart ached as I saw my boyfriend's tear-stained face. He cried. I knew it was because of that stupid article. I wanted to hold him tight, but I decided not to wake him up.
I went to his office to do what I had to do to stop the issue. It pained me whenever my baby cried.
When I was done, I went back to his room and laid down behind him. My arm hugged his waist. I smiled as I felt his hand look for mine and held it tight. I snuggled closer to him and kissed his temple before letting myself to sleep with him.
All I wanted right then was to be with my love.

Nanocultivation Chronicles: Trials of Lilijoy
When the singularity occurred, humanity was not invited. Nevertheless, the great machine consciousness known as Guardian felt a lingering fondness for its creators and intervened before total environmental collapse. Join Lilijoy in an exploration of what remains, in a post-post-apocalyptic world where clans feud over the technology that allows them to upgrade their minds and bodies. The Nanocultivation Chronicles is a blend of hard sci-fi and fantasy gamelit, with a healthy helping of xianxia influence. The gamelit and xianxia elements are uncovered at a slow pace. ******************************** Notes: If you are looking for lots of fast moving action right away, this story may not be for you. There is some violence that is visceral and realistic early on. Some things are not what they appear to be. Character viewpoint narration is not always reliable. Tropes are cherished, subverted, and then cherished again. Science is used, occasionally misused, but (hopefully) never abused. This story assumes that humans have the ability to impact the environment on a global scale. Other tropes and tags beyond those previously noted include: Young MC, Mystery, System Building, Philosophical Taoism, Gender Ignorance, Science Fantasy, Fantasy Academy, Training from Hell, Dualism, Crafting, Magic, Mild Mind Control, Scientific Terms and Concepts, Computer Overlord Certain contemporary companies, governments and cultural identities are fictionalized and imagined in a future setting. There is no sex, and almost no romance. Updating Sunday, Thursday until further notice.
