A big box welcomed me as I opened my office door when I finished my work for the day. I smiled, for I know my beloved boyfriend was up for something once again. I kneeled and opened it. A red rose was on top of another smaller box with a ribbon. When I opened the smaller box, there was a short note saying: I smiled when I saw a nice suit in it.
"Hmmm. . . you really prepared for this, huh?" I said, smiling from ear to ear. I couldn't wait to see what he prepared this time.
I went to our bedroom to prepare for our date. It didn't take much for me to prepare, but I made sure that I was at my very best before I went out to meet him.
As I stepped out of the house to go to the gazebo, candles lighted up along the path. It was beautiful since the sky was getting darker then. Walking slowly to absorb the beautiful environment surrounding me, I stopped in an instance when I saw how he decorated the gazebo.
The once very bare gazebo that we usually hung out when we wanted a breather from staying at home had fairy lights hanging from the roof of it, and the posts were covered with beautiful vines and flowers. He also put a round table in front of the wooden swing we always sat on. The table had some beautiful flower arrangements and it was set romantically for our dinner with candlelight.
I continued walking and saw a very handsome man waiting for me wearing the same suit as mine. I smiled sweetly and approached him. His arms immediately wrapped around my waist and leaned down to kiss me on the lips. His lips were warm and soft. He gently pulled away from me and smiled. "I missed you today, Baby."

"I missed you, too. Sorry I just had to do some finishing touches on my work. But don't worry I already finished them. We can spend time from now until you start your work again." He hugged me tightly as if I would be gone from him if he let me go. "Are you okay, Baby?"
He nodded his head and smiled again. "Of course. . . I just like hugging you. And kissing you. And I just love you."
"I love you, too." I looked around and asked, "What's the dinner for? How did you prepare all of these?"
"Well. . . you were busy the whole day, so I was bored. . . I thought of preparing a dinner date for us since we can't go out yet. I wanted to make something special for you since you've been working hard." He smiled proudly. "You like it?"
"I love it, Baby. Thank you." I tiptoed and gave him a peck on his lips.
He walked us to the swing and just sat there, his arm never leaving my waist.
"Are you hungry now?" I nodded my head a little and smiled. "I prepared something, too. Here. . ." He lifted the lid covering the plate on the table, and my eyes went wide when I see the food on the plate.
"Tell me it's Mom's Pad Kra Pao, Baby." He nodded his head in agreement. "Yey! I've been craving this since yesterday."
"Yup. I heard you whispering that you wanted to eat this yesterday while you were washing the dishes. . . So I called Mom to prepare some for you. Look, she even added some Pad Thai."
"Aww. . . That's so sweet. I love her so much."
"More than me?"
"Well. . . if you learn how to cook these, then I will love you even more." I teased him.

"I better stayed in Mom's kitchen and not leave until I master this food."
"I think it will take time before you could do that. . . You're gonna miss me if you stay there for long." I said and shook my head.
He hugged me tighter. "Oh no. . . no. . . no. . . I give up. It's okay if you love my mom more than me. I'm not gonna leave your side."
I chuckled but hugged him back. "Yes, Baby. Let's just ask mom to cook for us. I know she would be very willing to do that for me. She loves me, you know."
"Hmm. . . mmm. . . She loves you more than her son." He said. "Let's eat?" he asked and I nodded in reply.
We ate and talk just like we used to. It seemed like we were separated for long that we talk non-stop. I loved the fact that he prepared this dinner date, for he was thinking that I needed some kind of reward for working so hard. He was really thoughtful.
We were done with the dinner and were just finishing our wine when he brought a paper bag that was on the side of his seat, which I didn't notice earlier.
"What's this, Baby?" I asked when he handed it to me.
"It's a gift." He said smiling shyly.
I took the rectangular box that was inside of it. Again it was neatly wrapped in fancy paper and ribbon.
"Did I miss anything? What date is it today? Is there any occasion? I'm sorry if I forgot something, Baby. . . Oh my. . . I'll . . ."
"Hey. . . Hey. . . Baby. It's okay. There's nothing you forgot. I just want to give you a gift."
I sighed in relief. I thought I forgot something. I opened the box and saw a hardbound book in it. The cover was simple. It was just a combination of different shades of blue and simple text written as a title.
"The Book of Love?" I looked at him and asked. "Who's the author?" It was unfamiliar to me. I haven't read any books with this title.
He just smiled at me and gestured for me to open it. The first page was a blank one. However, I gasped and looked at him as I saw what was written on the next page.
He held my hand and said, "Baby, I'm not good at writing like you. You know, you're the best author out there, but I just want to give you something that I made myself. I hope you would like this one."
"Aww. . . Baby, you're making me cry. . ." I lifted my hand to his face and brushed his cheek with the back of it. But when my eyes landed on the next page of it, I burst out into laughter.
"Baby!" I said as I continued laughing. He laughed with me as well. "I was already teary-eyed because you wrote a book for me. Then this?" I told him.
"At least I made your day. Your laughter is enough for me." He leaned down and kissed me. "Don't you agree? Look at the picture. . . Don't I look very, very, very handsome?"
I smiled. "Well. . . you are. You look handsome every time. I love you."
"I love you, too." He stated back. "Continue, please."
