FLUKE
I turned to the next page and read.
I couldn't remove my smile as I continued reading. I was so touched that my boyfriend even thought of a present that he knew I would appreciate. Not that I wouldn't appreciate whatever he gave me, but this book was just special since it was related to the one I loved doing.
I nodded my head a little in agreement with what I read. He told me about those instances when we could've met before, but we didn't.
"New?" I asked him if it was my best friend.
"Yup. He's really my fairy godfather." Ohm answered and smiled.
"Baby!" I exclaimed. "Why this picture? I looked so ugly here. Look!" I said.
"You're so cute there, Baby." He said. "You know I like this picture very much. I can't resist whenever you do that. I always give in, you know."
"Hmph! And also, I didn't avoid you then. I was busy. Yeah. . . maybe I was surprised with the sudden confession, so it took long before it processed in my head." I explained.
"It's okay, Baby. At least we're together now." He smiled and leaned down for a kiss. "Read more, Baby."
I chuckled and said, "You really scared him off, Baby."
Then as I turned to the next page, my smile was gone as I read it. I could still remember how I felt at that time.
"Baby," I started and glared at him. "I love you so much, but I hate you for putting ugly pictures of me in this book."
He hugged me and kissed my temple. "I love you."
Well, I couldn't hate this man. I still loved him despite the pictures he included in this book.

I felt tears streaming down my face as I continued reading and leafing out the pages. He was the sweetest and the best boyfriend anyone could have. I was so lucky to have him in my life.
I clumsily wiped my tears with the back of my hand and was about to say something to him, but when I turned to my side, he wasn't sitting next to me anymore. He was already on his knees.
"Baby?" I whispered. My tears kept falling and my heart was beating so fast.
"Turn to the next page, Baby." He said smiling.
My hands were shaking as I opened the blue envelope attached to the page of the book.
There I saw a simple but classy band with the small sparkling blue round cut diamonds held in a pave setting in the center. It looked really beautiful.
I held it carefully as if it would break if I held it too tight. Ohm took it from me and held my hand.
"Fluke, I know we haven't been together for long, but I felt like we've known each other for years. When I first saw you, I knew you were the one. I even imagined my life with you making memories together." He said and took a deep breath. "You are the one I want to be with for the rest of my life. Everything I wrote in that book. . . I promised to protect you. . ." He sniffed. "to make sure you are happy and loved. . . I will do everything to give you the best cause you deserve all of them. I want us to be life partners." He let out some air before he asked. "Will you marry me, Fluke?"
Tears kept flowing on my face. I couldn't respond right away as I sobbed when he asked me to marry him. Instead of saying yes, I pulled him in my arms and hugged him tight as I sobbed on his chest. His hand caressed my back until I calmed down.

He pulled back a little to wipe my tears. "That's a yes, right?" He asked with a smile.
"Yes! Yes! Yes!" I answered and hugged him again.
"Woooohooo! I love you, Baby!" He exclaimed happily. "Here. . . Let me put this one on your finger."
He slowly put the ring on my finger and held it on his lips for a kiss. We both smiled widely as we looked at each other.
He slowly leaned down.
I closed my eyes as I felt him getting nearer.
But a sudden pop sound startled us and stopped us from doing what we were about to do. As we opened our eyes, confetti flew over and around us.
"CONGRATULATIONS!"
We looked to the side and saw Ohm's family, New and Liza with the kids, and Prem. All of them were holding confetti poppers and smiling at us.
"Hey!" Ohm shouted. "Why are you all here already?" He asked. "I haven't kissed my Baby!"
"What do you mean, you haven't?" His mom asked. "We saw everything. Do you want me to tell you how many times you kissed Fluke tonight, huh?" She said with a raised eyebrow and laughter was heard from the others.
"Uh. . . I. . . I mean I haven't kissed him as my fiancé, you know?" He said shyly.
I smiled at my adorable fiancé. He looked so defeated, so I whispered in his ears, "I'll kiss you all night later, Baby." And that made him smile widely.
I went over to greet my future in-laws and they hugged me. Thinking I would have a new family now felt so good.
