《Tennessee Tipsy - Morgan Wallen》Three

Caleigh sits at the bar with Morgan and Michael as they chat with the bartender. "Do you ever have a day off?" Caleigh asks, taking a drink of her Alabama Slammer. "You're always here."
"When my boss is feelin' generous..." Haley trails off, looking down at the clipboard in her hand then up at the clock on the wall above the door that leads to the bathrooms. "Michael! You ready?"
"No." He answers, nervously looking back at the stage.
"It's just karaoke. No one cares if you're good or bad." Haley says, pouring him a shot. "You're gonna do fine."
"He's just scared that he's actually gonna do good and people are gonna find out that he can actually sing." Caleigh says with a small smile. "Get your cute butt up there and sing!"
"Yeah!" Haley says, grabbing his wrist to lug him towards the stage. "Okay y'all! Here to kick off karaoke night is Michael Hardy!" She pulls him onto the stage with him. "Whatcha singin' for us?"
"Ain't Goin' Down (Til The Sun Comes Up)."
"Strummin' on Garth, okay!" She bounces off the stage and gets the song queued up and it starts. She heads to the bar to get him a beer and passes it up to him. "Let's go!" She claps for him as she sits next to Morgan at the bar.
He puts his arm behind her on the counter, a drink in his free hand. "You singin' tonight?"
"I might." She smiles, clapping for Michael as he steps off the stage and to the bar. "Nice job, man!"
"Thanks." He taps the counter and she gets him another beer.
"Wallen, you're up!" She says as she looks back at the clipboard. "Let's go!"
The two laugh on their way to the stage. She boldly grabs his chin and pulls him down for a soft kiss before she bounces up to the mic. "Next up, we've got aspiring musician: Morgan Wallen!" She cheers as she applauds, it's obvious to Caleigh and Michael that they've got something going on between them and they're glad.
Morgan got out of a messy break up with his ex-fiancé, Katie, a little while ago and he's been hurting ever since but there's something about this girl that makes him want to do better- to be a better person and he wants to change for her.
Morgan sings Sweet Home Alabama and gets the entire bar to sing along with him- it's kinda hard to not sing along to it anyways and he has that big goofy smile on his face the entire time.

"You should get up there, Haley. Let's face it; you're the house favorite." Randy comments, serving a couple drinks. "I'll handle the bar."
"Fine." Haley slips out from behind the bar and heads up to the stage, grabbing the mic. "Hey y'all. I'm Haley, y'all's bartender for this evenin' and-" she's cut off by overwhelming cheers and applause. "Thanks. I'm gonna sing, uh, Tim McGraw's Just To See You Smile." She clears her throat, her nerves settle when she sees her three new friends cheering her on from the bar.
"Just to see you smile I'd do anything that you wanted me to. When all is said and done, I'd never count the cost. It's worth all that's lost just to see you smile..."
Morgan's in love.
Her voice can make a mountain melt into a puddle of nothing but pure admiration- knock a grown man to his knees.
Haley returns behind the bar and gets back to work. "Wow." Hardy says.
"You were amazing!" Caleigh beams.
Morgan has his chin on his hand with his elbow propped up on the counter, his eyes full of fondness and a small smile on his lips. Michael glances over at him and chuckles. "You good, bud?" He shouts down to him.
"Mhm."
Haley blushes, her blue eyes meeting his gaze. Caleigh and Michael share a laugh before the two excuse themselves to do a little dancing together.
"Somethin' I can do for you, darlin?" Haley asks with a little bit of sass and a little extra twang, leaning forward against the bar, giving Morgan a look that's driving him crazy.
He smirks. "What time do you get off?"
She glances over at her boss. "I'm sure I can swing midnight. Hey Randy, is it cool if I take off at midnight?"
He huffs. "I guess, but you gotta get most of the clean up done."
"You got it, boss." She nods before turning back to Morgan. "Whatcha thinkin'?"
"Quality time." He shrugs. "You could hang out with us outside of here."
"Oh, I- I don't really know y'all-"
"Well, you're gon' get to know us." He says, drumming his hands against the bar. "I'll send you the address. You get my number?"
"No." She says, her face dropping slightly at the look he gives her. "If this was Thursday, I got stuck out on the floor and didn't make it back to the bar until last call."
He breathes a sigh of relief. "Gimme your phone." She pulls it out of her back pocket and hands it over. He punches in his number and texts himself before sliding it back into her hand. "See you 'round midnight then." He winks before heading over to his friends.

After Haley changes in the small back room, she's on her way to Michael's and Caleigh's and she is extremely anxious.
She parks next to Morgan's shitbox and behind, what she assumes to be Michael's nice blue Ford, then knocks on the door. "Haley? What a nice surprise!" Caleigh waves her inside.
"Hey." She smiles as she takes her shoes off without thinking about it.
"See that, Morgan!?" Caleigh shouts toward the kitchen. "You take your shoes off when you're a guest in someone else's home!"
"Okay, Momma!" He shouts back, coming around the corner. "Hey Hales!" He grins, his arm around her shoulder as he guides her to sit next to him on the couch.
"That's a pretty cool shirt." Michael says from his spot in the armchair.
Haley looks down at what she's wearing. "Oh, thanks." She smiles.
"Are you an actual fan of the Eagles or-"
"Ouch." She cuts Morgan off. "Yeah, I'm an actual fan." She chuckles. "Me and my daddy saw them when I was real little." Morgan smiles to himself.
This girl is literally his soulmate.
The four spend hours laughing and talking about anything and everything. It isn't until Caleigh yawns and stands that they realize how late it is. "You can stay here if you want, it's kinda late." She tells the other girl. "I don't mind."
"I don't mind. It's my house-"
"It's our house." Caleigh shoots back from the kitchen. "So you staying?"
"Sure, yeah. Thank you." Haley smiles awkwardly as Morgan takes her hand and leads her to a guest room.
"I'm across the hall so if you ever get lonely, you know where I am." She can't help but roll her eyes, chuckling to herself. "Thanks for comin' out. It's nice to hang out with you outside of the bar."
"It's nice to be outside the bar." She looks around at the various records on the wall. "Is Michael some kind of musical prodigy?"
"He writes songs for other musicians and they always do great on the charts. He's got a songwritin' degree."
"Wow." She nods, turning back to Morgan. Haley leans in and kisses his cheek before she opens the guest room door. "If you ever get lonely, you know where to find me." She says to him, adding a wink to the end of her sentence.
About an hour after everyone else is in bed, Haley tip toes her way across the squeaky hallway floor and opens Morgan's door. She bites her lip as she slides under the sheets with him, cuddling up close with the brunette.
He stirs and hums, wrapping his bare arm around her middle, pulling her close against his chest. Haley gets comfortable and falls asleep quickly.

A couple weeks later, Caleigh and Michael hit the bar, sitting themselves at a table. When he orders their drinks, Haley stops him. "Where's Morgan?"
"Huh? Oh, he left on Sunday."
"Left?"
"He went home." Her face falls slightly. "Did he not tell you?"
"It's not like we're together." She says, defensively. "But no, he didn't." She rubs her face. "When, uh, when will he be back?"
"It depends on if he gets signed to a label. He said he'd move out here if that happened." Haley nods, a small smile on her lips. "But things are lookin' good so, he'll be back here 'fore you know it." He winks.
"Oh shut up." She blushes, pulling her phone from her pocket as it chimes. "Hey, what's Sneedville?"
"I think that's where Morgan's from."
"How far away is that from here?"
"I dunno- four hours?" Michael shrugs, picking up his drinks. "Why?"
"He invited me to Sneedville."
"Woah. He must really like you." She giggles girlishly to herself, turning around to the shelves to make another drink, praying the night goes fast.

Haley and Morgan have been talking nearly nonstop for the following week and she's starting really fall for him.
Right now, she's packing a bag for her trek to East Tennessee to spend a few days with the boy she met at the bar.
And she's excited.
Haley sighs quietly, slinging her bag over her shoulder as she locks up her house. She pulls on the doorknob a couple times before she heads to her car. Four hours is a long drive but she's nothing she can't handle.
She runs her hand over the small cross hanging from her rear view mirror then she's on her way out East, that pretty smile of hers on her face the whole time.

The Designated: Out of Control
It happened quicker than anyone would have imagined. Multiple hurricanes were one thing. People had dealt with that in the past. But, like kids playing dominoes, one thing crashed into another. Areas affected by hurricanes needed resources all along the Gulf and East Coasts drew rescuers and resources away from other parts of the country. When wildfires lit up the Pacific coast and mid-west, those areas were already understaffed. Driven by hurricanes in the Pacific basin, uncontrolled wildfires burned through towns, destroying everything in their paths. Across the Pacific, Asia didn't escape. From the Philippines, across China, into Indochina, and Bangladesh and India. Typhoons and cyclones pounded the coasts and far inland. Widespread flooding forced millions from their homes and across international borders. Mexico was hit hard and thousands died in mudslides as Katia slammed into their East Coast. The refugees fled north and west. Rumours started that hundreds of thousands were headed for the US border. Instead of running out of steam in the southern US, several hurricanes tore up the eastern seaboard, devastating cities and renewing their strength before veering east across the Atlantic. Maria and Ophelia veered east and slammed into Europe, reaching as far as the Netherlands and Russia before finally dissipating. After that, too many weather stations were offline to provide any form of co-ordinated information or warnings. Wildfires in Portugal burned ahead of the storms, fanned by hurricane winds. They sparked wildfires leapfrogging across Europe, beyond any one country's ability to cope. Already uneasy from multiple terrorist attacks over the summer, anti-refugee groups seized the opportunity to stage protests across Europe. Some turned violent as they clashed with police forces. Several governments declared martial law to quell the rioting and enforce evacuations along the path of the storms. Rumour and speculation overwhelmed facts. Unrest spilled over into widespread violence. Then sickness broke out in the displaced populations. Within a matter of a dozen weeks, tens of millions died. In the coming winter months hundreds more would follow. The Designated Project was activated.
