《You're Bittersweet (on hold)》Chapter 6

I was sitting on the kitchen counter holding the glasses in my hands. I was questioning myself on whether or not I should wear the glasses, even just for today. I needed some glasses to wear ,but wouldn't that be weird? After all I'm still wondering whose glasses these are. My mom walked into the kitchen and startled me. "Isabel get off of the counter" I quickly jumped off.
"Sit down I'm making breakfast. AND you're going to eat!" I couldn't decline her offer but I was still scared she would find out what I've been hiding under my jacket. I sat down on a stool. "Whose are those?" I stuffed the glasses into my coat pocket. "I found them outside I don't know whose these are" She called down my brothers.
Halfway through my food I excused myself and I left for school. I decided I would wear the glasses since I didn't want to risk crashing into anymore doors.
I arrived to school and met up with Laura "Hey is Marcus here?" She turned around "Oh hey girl! Marcus isn't feeling too well so he won't be here today, sorry" I nodded "Okay i'll see you around" I walked down the hall and into my first period. Kasandra greeted me. "Hey! Cute glasses" I smiled "Thanks"
We talked for a little while longer about what I did yesterday and how much of a good boyfriend Marcus is to me. I turned back around ,and went to grab my phone when I realized it was missing. "Shit!" I looked over to my right and saw exactly where it was.
"Cute pictures! Oh wow I love the new glasses" I tried to snatch my phone from Emory but she moved her arm away from my reach. She did something on there and then gave it back to me. "You should really keep an eye on your things. You wouldn't want your glasses to go missing again...right?"I glared at Emory and turned to the front of the room as Mr.Barrett walked in.
He gave us a new worksheet and told us to work in groups of four.
I looked behind me and asked Kasandra to be in my group. One of her friends had also joined the group. "We need one more person" Kasandra looked around the room avoiding Emory. "Emory you're in our group" Kasandra peeled her eyes at me "What! Are you doing?!" Emory stood up and walked towards us. "Where are we sitting?" I pointed at a desk and everyone followed.

"So what'd you guys do this weekend?" I asked in desperation to start a conversation. Kasandras friend yelped "Okay so basically I went shopping!"
"Cool where at?" I asked. "Gucci!" I opened my eyes wide "Holy crap so you're like rich rich?"
She shook her head. "Not really. My boyfriend bought me a couple things from there."
Kasandra and I nodded.
I looked under the table to see what Emory was so focused on and she was on her phone. "Okay so let's get to work"
Everyone began working on their paper and Emory was the first one to be done of course.
I was stuck on a problem and I knew Kasandra and her friend wouldn't know how to solve it so I went with my last option.
"Can you help me on this one?"
She leaned over and grabbed my paper to look at it. She helped me out with the rest of the problems as well and surprisingly she wasn't rude about it this time.
"Holy shit! You're a fucking nerd" Kasandra laughed. Emory wasn't that amused.
"What about it? After all you're not even halfway done with the third problem."
Emory and I chuckled. Kasandra stopped laughing
"Are you calling me stupid?...And you? You had to get help so don't fucking laugh at me when you look more like a dumb ass than me"
I was starting to get a bit worried about where this was going. Emory leaned on her elbows "Chill the fuck out princess"
Kasandra stood up and got in Emory's face .
"Shut the fuck up! Nobody even wants you in this group" I stood up and shoved Kasandra away from Emory. "Guys stop there's no reason to fight about this!"
Kasandra swung at me and I felt the blow of her fist landing on the side of my face. The glasses fell off of my face and onto the ground. I swung back at her ,but missed which gave her the opportunity to swing again and she successfully knocked me down. I hit my back on one of the tables and gasped at the pain.
Emory quickly stood up from her chair and grabbed Kasandra by the neck and threw her at the wall. "You ruined my glasses you asshole those were a fortune!" She swung at her stomach a couple times until Mr.Barrett came and separated them. Emory walked away and helped me up.

"You're a fucking piece of shit!" Kasandra tried getting out of Mr.Barrett's grasp but failed.
Security came in and took us all to their office. We were each sitting in a different room with one of the security guards. A nurse came in a gave me an ice pack and placed a bandaid on a small cut I got on my face.
The security guard finally spoke, "What happened?" I looked at him "We were working on some math paper when she called Emory a nerd and jokingly Emory called her dumb and so we both laughed and she stood up and then got up in Emory's face and I shoved her away and that's when Kasandra punched me and everything started"
The security guard nodded and wrote something down on his clipboard. "I'm going to call one of your parents to come by and speak with one of us or the principal and until then you are to stay in the library" I nodded.
I walked out and into the library. I sat down at one of the tables. Not too long after Emory walked in.
"I heard you tell Kasandra that these glasses are yours?" I pulled them out of my pocket.
Emory turned a little red "What? I didn't-I don't-"
I looked at her confused "How'd you know where I lived anyway?"
She looked at the floor.
"I saw you walking home this one time when I was riding my bike." I nodded slowly.
"How come you gave me your glasses?" She looked at me
"Well I don't wear them anymore and I knew you lost your glasses when you told Kasandra the other day and so I gave them to you" I turned to her
"Thank you"
I received a text from Marcus.
Marcus: Yo how was the fight what'd I miss?
Isabel: How do you even-
A bunch of my classmates must've posted the fight on Snapchat and Instagram. I realized this as I was typing my message.
Isabel: Nothing much it was pretty boring.
Marcus: Hope you're okay:(
Isabel: Same for you❤️ How are you feeling?
Marcus: I'm okay
Marcus: I have to go my moms calling me :)❤️
I turned off my phone and slumped down in my seat.
I closed my eyes for a second and I reopened them to the sound of a door opening.
"Isabel! Qué pasó?! Why didn't you call me?"
I looked at my mom. "I-" The security guard came in and explained to my mom what happened.
"C'mon let's go" My mom turned and began walking towards the door. I stood up and said goodbye to Emory but she didn't say anything and just nodded
The car ride home was silent and I could feel the tension in the car. We arrived home and surprisingly my mom didn't yell at me. "I'm proud of you" I turned and looked at her. I was confused at the fact that she wasn't mad. "W-what?"
I sat down on one of the stools in the kitchen while she sat down on the couch and turned on the tv. "You defended your friend" She started folding some of her clothes from her laundry basket. "Well that girl deserves everything she got" My mom chuckled. "If something like that happens again make sure to call me and I'll be on my way to have a talk with the principal" I nodded and walked up the stairs.
I pulled the glasses out of my pocket and placed them on my desk. I changed my clothes and sat on my bed. I got a text from David.
David: Holy shit you got your ass beat!
Isabel: She got fucked up afterwards though ;)
David: She deserves it I'm sure
Isabel: Trust me she did
I turned off my phone and layed down ,and took a nap.
