《You're Bittersweet (on hold)》Chapter 7

It's been about a month since the whole fight situation. I haven't talked to Kasandra at all since then. Everything's been normal I guess.
Today is Marcus's birthday and I planned everything out for today. I grabbed a birthday card I made for him as well as a gift card so that he can get his favorite slushie whenever he wants ,and a bag of those sour gummy worms he likes.
I made my way to school with my brothers. "You know Isa, Instead of giving that card to Marcus you should give it to us." He chuckled "No this is his birthday gift" I laughed
I arrived at school and saw him standing in a group with his friends. I walked by since I didn't want to stand there with them. 'I'll just give it to him during lunch' I thought to myself.
I walked into the cafeteria to find Kasandra and her group of rats eating breakfast. I walked passed the table when I heard my name being called out.
"ISABEL WAIT!"
I turned around and saw Kasandra getting out of her seat. I turned around and kept walking. I heard footsteps approaching.
"Hey wait"
she grabbed my shoulder so I'd turn around. I turned around
"What do you want?"
She looked at the floor
"Look I'm sorry..I didn't mean for that to happen. I was just pissed a-and I lost control and next thing I knew you were on the ground and-"
I shook my head
"It's been a month and you're apologizing now? Look what you said to Emory wasn't cool and I can't be around people who think it's okay to bring down others"
I turned around but she stopped me.
"Isn't that what she does?"
I was getting irritated at her voice.
"Leave me alone Kasandra" I walked out the door across the cafeteria.
I plugged in my headphones and put them on. I made my way to first period but was stopped when I felt a hand grab my arm and pull me back. It was Laura.

"Hey I've been calling your name!"
I realized she must've thought I was ignoring her. "Oh sorry my music was loud" She shook her head, "It's all good, Anyway how come you're not with Marcus right now? Well I mean since y'all hangout every morning" She smiled
"He was with his friends and I didn't want to barge in" She nodded.
"Okay just making sure nothing happened between you guys"
I nodded
"I'll see you later Isa"
She walked into the stairwell and down the stairs. I went up the stairs and walked down the crowded hall.
I looked down at my phone as I got a notification from Snapchat. 'Probably streaks' My thoughts were interrupted when I bumped into a tall person.
"Watch where you're going"
I looked up at a tall slim guy with blonde spiky hair.
"O-oh s-sorry"
He glared at me
"Y-Y-You better b-b-be. I don't get what Marcus sees in you" He laughed and pushed me into one of the lockers.
His group of friends laughed and they walked away.
I was so embarrassed and I felt tears well up in my eyes. I walked away quickly as some people were staring at me laughing. I quickly walked into first period and sat down. I got my stuff out of my bag. I felt warm tears flow down my cheek and I wiped them away with my sleeve. I pulled my hood over my head and sat quietly.
"Hey you good?" I looked over and saw Emory staring at me. I nodded. "I know you're not okay. What happened?" Did Kasandra bother you again?" I shook my head.
As if on cue Kasandra walked in and saw me. She walked over.
"Isabel what's wrong? Is she bothering you?" Emory glared at Kasandra
"No but you are so go away this doesn't involve you."
I wiped my eyes with my sleeve and looked over at Emory.
"Can we go to the library?" She nodded.
We stood up and left before the teacher walked into the class. We walked in silence and passed by Marcus and his group of friends. I noticed that the same boy that I bumped into was next to Marcus. I felt even worse knowing they were friends. Marcus didn't notice us walk by thank god.

We sat behind one of the bookshelves in the back.
"What happened?"
I told her what happened and she was mad. "He's going to get jumped after school" I quickly looked at Emory.
"What!"
She nodded
"My buddies will take care of him and his group"
I was hesitant about this
"I don't think that's a good idea"
She nodded
"Okay but if you change your mind just let me know" she smirked. I laughed at her stupid comment.
There was a period of silence.
"Hey wanna do something risky?" I was confused at what she meant by this.
"Like what?"
"Lets sneak out of school" I looked at her
"Are you trying to get in trouble?..Again?"
She chuckled
"Well?" I nodded my head
"Sure let's go" We got up and exited the library quickly. We walked down the hall quietly avoiding the cameras and sticking to the blind spots. We made it out the door leading to the track. We hopped the small fence and walked down a hill. We reached the sidewalk and walked down another hill.
We reached the market at the bottom of the hill and we walked in. We got some snacks and sat outside.
"Thanks" Emory looked me
"What for?"
"For coming to the library with me and making sure I was okay"
_______________
We walked back and arrived in time for the third period. We went our own ways. I got to my third period and sat at a table. I hardly paid any attention to what the teacher was saying. Time went by really slow and I ended up falling asleep until one of my classmates woke me up right before the bell rang.
I walked towards the library and skipped lunch. I grabbed a book from one of the nearby shelves and sat at the usual table. I waited for Marcus to arrive ,but he never did. The bell rang and I was angry. He knew I was going to be waiting for him in our usual spot. 'Where was he?' I walked to class and sat at a random empty table.
Marcus walked in and sat at a far table and started talking to some girls. I glared at him as he joked around with them. Emory walked in and sat across from me. She glanced over to the front of the room where Marcus was sitting with a group of girls and glared.
"Did you guys break up?" I shook my head "No he's just ignoring me. I didn't do anything to him" He looked at me but quickly avoided eye contact.
I felt heated at the fact he was clearly doing this on purpose. I pulled out his gift and gave it to Emory.
"Here" She looked at me confused.
"Uh what's this?" I noticed Marcus looking at us.
"It was for Marcus but he doesn't deserve it. After all you made sure I was okay" She took the gift "I guess" she shrugged
We joked around for a while but we were cut off when Marcus sat down next to me
"Hey Babe I miss you so much" He leaned in to kiss my cheek but I shoved him away
"Go away. You didn't show up to the library today, AND you tried to make me jealous by sitting with those girls over there."
Emory cleared her throat loudly
"Oh yeah. One of your buddies Embarrassed me in front of a bunch of people and he pushed me into a locker." He glared at me
"Who the fuck did that? I'll beat them up I swear"
I shook my head
"Just leave me alone Marcus" He stood up and walked back to the table he previously sat at.
