Marco had scissored, and ended up in Stars room. She saw him, and hugged him. "Marco!! What are you doing here?" She asked. "I can't just let you go Star..." and he hugged her back. Star was still in her outfit, and Marco had been too. [obviously] They sat down, and caught each other up. "and that's why I had to leave Earth." Marco understood now. "Can I- Can I fight with you?" Star blushed. "I...I don't want you to get hurt..." she said. "P-Plus.... You n-n-need to b-b-b-be in the Mewman Family...." and she blushed. Marco did too. "Well, I want you to be safe. Plus, I talked to Toffee. I know how he is. I'm not going to let you go alone." Star sat down. "Marco, please. I need to fight for my kingdom. Just go back to Earth. " Marco didn't understand. He wanted to protect her. "Star, I'm not going to lose you again." "Marco, I can fight" "I know! But, what if you get hurt?! Wh-What if you get hurt? Or worse! I want to help. I believe in you, but I-" "Marco, I don't need you to be my hero. I can do this. Plus, it won't matter." "YES IT DOES! Your life counts on this kingdom and to me, I at least need to help. It'll give back for all you've done." "NO IT WONT!! IVE DONE NOTHING FOR YOU!! IF I HAVE, IT DOESNT MATTER....I....I...I DONT MATTER!" and she started to cry. "I'm just.... a girl..... I just took over your life, and I took it in too much. I-I am nothing. Nothing to you. I just joined in.... I-I just came into your house, went to your school, and that's it. I'm nothing to you." she put her hands in her face while she cried. Marco put his hand on her shoulder. "Star, don't say that. You've changed my life. Not only have you made me more confident, but you've changed my views of life too. You are so special to me. You.... changed me.... You....." he started to cry a little too. "That's why I can't let you do this...., I-I.... you've done so much for me, and I've... Ive just been a terrible friend. I...I should've realized how you felt. I..I should've seen your hurt at the concert... I....I...You made my life better Star...." and she hugged him. "You were a great friend. You still are. I wouldn't have expected you to come here. You're... my hero..." they both blushed. "I know that you said that you didn't need a hero. But, you're mine. Please Star, let me return the favor..."

Also available on Audible! After centuries of endless wars, the three greatest nations of the continent have come together in peace. As a symbol of their cooperation, they have worked together to establish the Grand Academy of Spiritual, Martial, and Arcane Arts, a place where the best and brightest of each nation can gather on neutral ground and share knowledge, techniques, and cultures. Can the peace truly last, or is the academy just another proxy for the constant conflicts the three nations face? None of that matters to Lee Jia, a homeless young girl who's biggest concern is surviving the winter. But when she accidentally stumbles into the academy in search of a new place to stay, her destiny is changed forever. Determined to carve out a new place for herself and make the most of her good fortune, Lee Jia dives head first into the world of magic and martial arts. Fates Parallel is my first serious attempt at writing a story, and a personal love letter to Eastern fantasy and xianxia stories. It's heavily inspired by East Asian culture, folklore, and mythology, with what is likely going to be a decidedly Western artistic license. I try to write every day, with a goal of about 45,000 words per month (~1500 per day). Chapter lengths are around 3000 words on average, releasing on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Cover art drawn by the incredibly talented Tsuu (TsurotArtistry).
