《Elemental Control: A DC Legends of Tomorrow Fanfiction》How can I be a hero, if all I am is a villain?

[Chapter One]
I stealthy slide down the drop hole in the roof of the biggest museum in Central City. Underneath me is a large collection of jewels and expensive antiques. I slide right through the laser beams around the most expensive item in the world, the Autumn Ruby. I have been studying and planning this heist for over 6 months.
I cut a hole in the glass and reach in my bag for a rock that weighs as much as the ruby. For the weight pressure of course. I'm no rookie. No matter how many times Flash has tried to catch me, he always fails. I'm using a rock because I want people to know their ruby has been stolen and that their precious Flash has failed to catch me again.
On the rock, I carved in the stupid name Vibe came up for me. Element. It's pretty basic. I just wish I could see his face when I mock him with a rock. I quickly switch the rock and the ruby. There was a slight millisecond where there was no weight on the pressure sensor but their technology is too stupid to detect the change.
I gaze at the orange and red ruby with my bright violet eyes before quickly slipping it in my bag. I hear a small shuffling of feet with my highly sensitive ears. A normal person wouldn't be able to detect if but then again, I'm not a normal person. I could be recognized by my violet eyes but my raven hair and pale skin would be unnoticeable especially since I wore a black bodysuit and study black boots, knives on every part of my body.
I grab a razor sharp, but lean and long knife from the inside of my sleeve. It's like that because it's best at being thrown extremely accurate and it could easily kill a person with its edge.
Judging by the almost silent movements, the guard is short and skinny. I'm guessing he's about 4'11. I wait until I hear his footsteps one more time so I can pinpoint where he is and kill him silently. Then I throw the knife and smile when I hear a grunt when the guard got hit.
Unfortunately, the guard ripped out the knife when he died so when he fell forward, dead, the knife slipped from his grasp and sent off the laser alarm. Bright lights shine in my face and I yank on the rope leading to the roof.
The contraption I set up on the roof began pulling me up just as guards piled into the room. I flash them a wide smile and they began shooting at me. But I'm up and out of there in no time.

I get on the roof but to my surprise, there was a man in a long brown trench coat. I reach for another knife to easily deal with him but the man points a wide gun at my face. It blinded me with a bright light and then everything when black.

When I woke up, I was on a rooftop of what looked like Star City. I hear groaning and movement beside me. "What a headache," yelled a burly, bald man who I recognized as Mick Rory, partners with Leonard Snart, who are petty thieves. I've run into then once or twice which only ended with them unconscious on the floor.
"Stein? What the hell are you doing here?" Leonard asked with a groan.
"I'm as ignorant as you for once," Stein replied.
Leonard glanced over and locked eyes with me. "Well if it isn't Element," Leonard snarked and glared at me. But I noticed the fascination in his eyes. Probably at my violet eyes. "You wanna end up dead this time Snart?" I give him an evil smile.
"Guys shut the hell up," Mick replied while Leonard just winked at me. I narrow my eyes but decide to ignore Snart.
"Where are we?" Sara questioned, slightly groggy. I take inventory of everyone on the roof. There's nine of us: Me, Leonard, Mick, Sara Lance, Ray Palmer, Jefferson Jackson, Martin Stein, Kendra Saunders, and Carter Hall. I could kill them all easily with my eyes closed.
"Why don't you ask the dude who knocked us out and kidnapped us? British dude with a flashy thingy? Ring any bells?" Jefferson or Jax said sitting up.
"The name's Rip Hunter. I'm from East London. Oh... and the future," a British man said walking over to us.
"Nice to meet you Rip," Mick said and reached for his heat gun but it wasn't at his side. I checked my body suit for knives and find none.
"Uh, while you were incapacitated, I may have tampered with your weapons," Rip explained, pointing to a pile of weapons on the floor, including my knives and the partner's guns. Rip quickly flashed a nervous look in my direction.
"Not all of us need weapons you know," I smile sickly sweet while my eyes grow a brighter violet, catching the attention of everyone else on the roof.
"Wait! Just listen to me! I've assembled you all because I need your help. The future of the world is in peril because of a man by the name of Vandal Savage." Rip explained vigorously.

"That can't be," Carter said. "We destroyed him."
"Yeah, Green Arrow and Flash helped us do it," Kendra added which makes me snort.
"No wonder he's still alive," I say, earning myself glares from everyone on the roof except for the criminals and Rip, who just keeps talking, pretending I didn't say anything.
"And therein lay the problem. Unless you or Mr. Hall delivers the death blow, Savage can be restored from but a single cell." Rip explained.
"What the hell are you talking about?" Mick demanded, completely lost.
"Vandal's immortal, Kendra and I reincarnate," Carter replied.
"Yeah I've done that," Sara said.
"And what the hell does this Randell guy got to do with us?" Mick asked, annoyed.
"Vandal. And in the future, he will employ the evil he's perfected over his long life, and the power he has amassed throughout history, to finally conquer the world. I've been tasked with assembling an elite team to stop him." Rip explained.
"How?" Stein askes.
"By traveling through time. To capture Savage before he grows into the monster he becomes," Rip says passionately and I scoff.
"Us? Heroes? Good luck with that," I say sarcastically.
"For once, Isabelle is right," Snart comments, making me glare at him but he either ignores it or doesn't notice it at all. "You got the wrong guy. 'Hero' ain't on my resume," Snart said starting to walk off.
"Or mine," Mick added.
"I know it's difficult for you to fathom, but where I'm from... when I'm from, the year 2166, you and everyone on this roof aren't just considered heroes... you're legends." Rip stated.
"Legends?" Sara asked.
"I hate to nit-pick but doesn't a legend have to be dead?" Stein inquires.
"Yeah, uh, see that's a deal breaker for me, so I'm gonna pass," Jax adds.
"It's dangerous for any of you to know too much about your own futures, but I'm here because each of you, as individuals, are destined for greatness." Rip said.
"I could get behind that," Ray says with a grin and I roll my eyes. Spoiled rich boys wanting attention.
"And, because if you don't follow me, this is what is in store for your world 150 years from now," Rip added and projected a hologram of the city burning and in ruins.
"Why do I care, I should be dead by then," I say, bored.
"Should?" Sara asks, glaring at me. I shrug while Rip continues on with his 'very convincing' speech.
"I could have chosen any time and any place. Of all the people who have ever lived, I chose you nine. I certainly hope that you won't let me, and the world, down. If your answer is yes, meet me at this address in 36 hours," Rip said, giving Stein a card and walking off, leaving us alone on the rooftop.
"Whelp," I sigh. "That was a waste of time. I'm out," I go to the edge of the roof of the ten-story-tall building and jump off. I reach my hand out and command the nearest tree to send me a vine. Instantly, a tree that was on top of a gray building sent a vine the wrapped around my wrist and I swing to another roof that was about five buildings away.
With my super sensitive hearing, I heard a couple of conversations.
"You have to admit," Ray said, jealous. "That was cool."
I hear a slap and Ray complaining that Sara hit him.
"She's a criminal. She steals and kills people for fun." Sara hisses.
"Isn't that what we do?" Leonard said slyly.
"You don't kill people," Sara replies.
"You do."
"Yeah, bad people. People who have no good use in this world. She kills everyone, regardless of who they are. She could kill us."
"Well, don't worry. She probably won't bother joining the 'Legends'. Hero isn't her thing," Snart says before walking away with Mick.
I sigh. I was actually not going to join this little quest. But now, I'm just joining for the hell of it. How are we going to be a team if nobody trusts one another? This is definitely going to be fun.
I can also save them. We're going back in time, right? Maybe this joyride won't be a complete waste of time after all.
Besides, how can I be a hero, if all I am is a villain?

An Unbound Soul
When Peter suffers a too-close encounter with a truck, he finds himself reborn in another world. At first glance it is a perfect fantasy land. There's magic to play with, elves singing in the forest and a hyperactive catgirl neighbour. There's even a System that lets him earn skills and level up. But it isn't long before he notices that the world is far too perfect. Just why is everyone so nice? Can Peter accept the alien morality of this world's self-proclaimed protector, or will he seek to overthrow her? Set after the events of A Lonely Dungeon, a few hundred years after the rebirth of civilization, this is a story about an earthling falling into Erryn's new world and the subsequent struggles of himself and Erryn to understand each other. It's a slow paced slice of life, and while there are pieces of action, don't expect any immediate grand conflict between Erryn and Peter. Published here, scribblehub and amazon. Two new chapters a week on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The Empty Valley Cries Unheard
The stories can be read at any order. Phew, this story was finally finished at last! What could I say, it was a hell of a ride when I wrote it from the beginning to end. Thanks for having me on RR :D All the current chapter had already done a run on Grammarly, so hopefully it'd be more readable. ...kinda feeling lazy so calling off the edits for now. A couple of old / new attempts of combining Horror, Comedy and Absurdist elements. I'm not very good at writing Horror stories but I'd like to try once in a while. Although the first chapter may be completely screwed up, believe me--I mostly write fluffy gay scenes between two girls. It would PROBABLY become a lot lighter as we moved up the chapter count. Not for the faint of heart, but if you're like me who like some absurd or nonsensical stories, this might be right up your alley. Sorry in advance if some of the chapters seem normal lol additional tags : nonsense / absurd / parody

A Demon Lord's Reincarnation
Selina’s got a pretty active imagination. When doing math, she pretends that she is a great detective solving a heinous crime! Ordinary tasks, like a trip upstairs, turn into a perilous adventure to raid a dragon’s cave! She believes that life should be full of wonder and magic, and tries to force the world to cope with her conviction! But when Selina wakes up to remember her past life as the Demon Lord, she has to face the fact that real life is messy, and not anything like what she imagined. With ancient powers stirring, family problems, and the hectic life of a teenager, Selina will have to discover more about herself if she is going to survive the trials ahead. With the help of her best friend and a fair share of luck, she might just get through this alive. Maybe. (Updates (hopefully) on Sundays) This story started out as a flipped isekai. Instead of a hero being pulled into a medieval world, a Demon Lord is pulled into the modern world. It has since moved a bit beyond that initial premise but it is the foundation of the work. Along the way, I threw in dragons, elves, dwarves, and some vampires (but no werewolves, gotta nip that in the bud) all wrapped up in the political drama of a modern world. The story, however, will mainly focus on the characters and their development and as such, is a bit of a slow burn. It may take a couple of chapters to get into. You have been warned! (PS, please show patience for the author's notes. They're a bit crazy and don't always make the most sense. The author's a bit of a ditz. Please ignore him.)

Blood & Noodles
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] As they always have, humanity hunts the gods roaming the world, craving the supernatural power that flows within their veins. Even a drop is zealously guarded, passed from master to student through the ages. It is with this stolen power that the Blooded - those with divine blood coursing through them - grasp beyond mortality and achieve prestige, power, and greatness. Yet, for every fraction of power gained, thousands perish, slain by the gods' supernatural prowess. But everything is beginning to change. Eight years ago, for the first time in human memory, a god was felled. Part-time chef and full-time nuisance Orvi wants nothing to do with gods. Living in a derelict city, his only concerns are ensuring his adopted family's restaurant is prosperous and how to best beat the neighbourhood boys in a fight. If he's lucky, he might even snag a date with the farmer's daughter at the market. But even though he cares nothing for the gods or their blood, the world won't leave him alone forever. Because to reach godhood, one must first leave their humanity behind. *** The first arc of Blood & Noodles follows the adolescent Orvi as he attempts to navigate his rapidly changing home and - by his own definition - protect his family. The story is told almost entirely in the first-person, from the perspective of a teenager who isn't always the sharpest tool in the shed. There are tragic elements, especially in the current arc. It's character-focused and driven, though the protagonist's shenanigans are backdropped by a world operating independently from him. Orvi's a generally light-hearted character, and though the story veers into darker territory, I also want it to be able to make readers smile. Action sequences, despite the fantastical elements, are meant to be grounded and clearly-conveyed; Orvi is a brawler, not a warrior. I'm trying to write a story that's enjoyable to read and flows nicely, mainly because it's more fun to write. I'm also trying to improve my writing, so any feedback, whether positive or negative, is welcome!
