-Neil P.O.V-
We were now driving up a narrow path close to the city. It was getting late and it was so dark outside the normal bright moon was shadowed by the big fluffy clouds.
"Hey, David? Are we gonna drive all night?" Even though I wasn't tired I looked around and everyone was really antsy.
"Yeah I need my beauty sleep." Preston whined. Everyone gave him a look, and seemed to be very confused with what Preston had just say.
"What Preston?" Nikki with a confused face tilted her head. Preston quickly turned around, he looked out the window and acted like nothing happened. I elbowed max,
"He's embarrassed." I quietly said.
We were traveling up a skinny road that looked like it had been destroyed. A odd looking hotel was close and david slowed down the car.
"We should stay the night somewhere I'd keep driving but I think I'm even to tired to. So we're going to stay here for the night!" David's usual enthusiasm had started up again. He had been pretty quiet most of the trip and I can't figure out why. We all looked at the hotel and as soon as we pulled in we all gasped. The hotels condition was terrible and looked like someone had died in it. There was a odd looking old women on the outside sitting by the lobby door. The hotel was bigger than we thought and actually had multiple floors. It looked to go about 7 floors up, we all looked at each other in disgust. I saw a man who walked out of the hotel lobby and had a object in his hand, I then dumbly realized that it was a knife and turned around in shock.
"David I don't really think this is such a good place to stay." I nervously explained.

"Of course it is! Come on guys don't be grumpy turn that smile upside down!" Everyone groaned as we exited the car. We walked up to the creepy old lady that was sitting at the lobby door. As we approached closer to the lady we realized she was disabled in a wheel chair and to make matters more creepy she had a cat in her lap that was hissing as we approached, there were also two more cats circling around her. We all huddled behind David and space kid even hung on David's leg. If we were all gonna die David was going first.
"Well hello there, are you the owner?" David questioned.
"Trees can be knees if the kittens can't sneeze." The creepy lady said.
David's face changed to a confused slash worried face.
"What?" He asked still trying to keep a smile on.
"Bees can mark trees if birds could fly." The old lady creepily leaned forward.
David now was a bit frightened as was everyone else. Space kid was holding onto to David's leg very tightly now
"Alright I'm just gonna walk in the lobby now." David proceed to walk in and was pulled back by the old lady.
"The time has come for the prophecy to be forsaken, find the blue wall scratcher that scrapes the blue bricks." The lady's eyes were lit with white. Then she sort of snapped back to reality and patted her hissing cat on the head. David pushed us all inside and caught his breath.
"Well that was normal!" Max sarcastically said.
"Uh, hello there?" A women standing behind the counter waved.
"Ah, yes hello. Can we get a room here?" David asked politely.
"Yes how many?" The lady had long finger nails that made the keyboard she typed sound even louder than usual. She seemed nice enough though.

"Uh, about 12." The Lady looked up at all of us and looked straight back at her computer.
"One night?" David nodded and gave her his credit card. She handed us a room key and put on a clear fake smile.
"Have a great happy jolly night here at forest villa!" She than changed automatically to a stern face and started to type on her computer again. The loud tapping continued and David smiled. All of us looked at each other all of us with a worried expression in place.
We walked into the building farther and rode the elevator up to level 6. The interior of this place seemed very out of date and had a faint smell of mildew. We walked down a long hallway until we reached our final destination. David unlocked the door and we all dashed inside. Most of the kids went straight to the beds and couches. And passed out. But me max and Nikki were as wide awake as ever. David told everyone goodnight and turned all the lights off. Nikki was spinning on a chair in the room and max was laying on the couch staring at the ceiling. I sort of just stood there awkwardly.
"Alright, guys since you slept the whole car trip why don't we do something fun!" Nikki's soft smile appeared and she jumped up from her seat.
"Yay!" She yelled which David shushed because of all the other sleeping campers.
"Pizza anyone?" Max oddly smiled and I nodded my head.
"Sure why not I could eat." I said.
We were all sitting at the table eating the last of the pizza, except the one for everyone else that was sleeping. We were all playing charades and it was Nikki's turn. She was holding her fingers up to her head and making a funny face.
"A turkey!" David yelled happily.
"That's clearly a deer guys." Max said rolling his eyes.
"Aw, come on max lighten up a little bit." I suggested. David gave a small smile and max rolled his eyes again. Guess it was worth the try. We all got up and headed for the door outside up in the air was a huge star glowing so bright.
"Wow!" Nikki gasped and pointed. David patted her shoulder and they both smiled happily. I had never seen Nikki this happy since the beginning of camp. We all looked up and stared.
"Alright we should get going guys." David grabbed my hand and Nikki's too. Max was carrying the pizza but behind the box I could see him smiling at the beautiful night sky.
Ha, I knew he could be happy at some point.
