Lord Cato's army splits into 6 groups with around 60 some in each. Most of our group stays concealed but some of Lord Cato's groups have seers and they are calling out our positions.

I had to leave my group because of my ability, anyone around me that hears my song will succumb to my will and my wish. I start to hum and 12 demons around me fall to the ground and pierce their own heart, ah the heart such a beautiful red.

One of the demons had two small hearts and they were an amazing turquoise colour... I love war and death but it is never how you see it in the movies, it's never one on one it can be 1 person fighting 4 people at the same time. Its pure chaos. It's so beautiful.

I can't wait to wreak havoc and when this is over I will destroy Lucifer's life so he can never be happy. I will kill his mate.

Lukes pov

The entry way looks as it always had, old but familiar. Almost everything is gold, fit for royalty. I shift up to the top of the stairs and down the hall way and I run down the other 13 hallways, it's just faster.

I start running through Cato's final hall way when I see his general Semaj, he hates me for killing his father. (If you don't remember read chapter 20 again). He sees me and immediately starts running for me, well I can't stop now.

I run but just before he can touch me I shift into Cato's room. I lock the door and put a barrier against any outsiders, I then turn around. Cato is on his bed where Ali is tied up, I thin Cato says something to me but I can't process what's in front of me. Is this a nightmare?

She is a mess, she has cloth in her mouth and her clothes are cut up showing her skin and underwear. Was she drugged? She seems loopy... I'm over beside Cato in milliseconds grabbing his throat.

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE CATO!" he gives me a malicious smile, "revenge for my mother" he wheezes out.

"YOU'RE SO STUPID CATO?! IS THAT WHY YOU HAVE HATED ME ALL THESE YEARS!?!?!? YOU DID THIS TO ALI BECAUSE YOU THINK I KILLED YOUR MOTHER!?" I can't help but be angry at his stupidity and how blind he is!

Cato nods and I punch his cheek with my other hand "YOUR AN ASSHOLE AND AN IDIOT! I DIDN'T KILL YOUR MOTHER OUR FATHER DID!!" I'm gasping for breath while Cato looks like is world was just brought down on his head.

"YOU DID THIS TO MY MATE!" I point to her, but let go of Cato's throat "I can't believe you did this" I whisper. I can't seem to keep my emotions in check I'm angry at Cato, heartbroken because I couldn't protect Ali, and utterly distraught about the whole thing...

Cato coughs "what do you mean?" "I ow you nothing" I walk over to my precious mate "I'm so sorry" I take off her bindings and her gag. "I'm so sorry Ali, I couldn't protect you" all I can do is hold her, I need her, but I'm the one who destroyed her. I did this to her.

"I" I cut Cato off "Say nothing" he sighs I hear Ali mumble a small and disoriented "Luke". "I'm here Ali, I'm sorry" my voice comes out as barely a whisper, mates really can change everything.

Cato speaks again "I didn't do anything to her, she's just drugged" am I hearing this? Did he really not do anything? "What did you say?"

My voice almost breaking, am I lucky enough that he didn't do anything? He sighs "I wanted revenge for my mother but I couldn't do... that to an innocent, I drugged her but I didn't do anything more than that."

I can't help myself tears fall from my eyes "thank goodness I don't know what I would have done...If.. If she had been... because of me and I couldn't stop it" I can't hold the pain from my voice, I hold her tight to me.

"But brother I'm sorry, I took her and made you suffer but" he takes a long pause "I also told her about what you are I'm sorry." He told her, I knew it'd have to tell her eventually but I haven't mentally prepared myself, now when she wakes up she might hate me.

"How did she react?" Cato laughs "well she was gagged for most of it but reading her Expressions, she looked betrayed, heartbroken, and then confused. When I took off her gag she told me and I quote fuck you.

So I don't really know what was passing through her head but, if she told me to fuck off then she probably understands or is willing to hear you out" there's the Ali I know fiery and passionate.

If that's the first thing she said to him then I might have a slim chance of her understanding me and me having a good long life with my beautiful mate.

"Brother... Sorry to spoil the moment but I need to know, why did Dad kill my mother and how did he kill her... Why did you cover for him? And did you do everything that people said you did? All those cruel heartless things?" He says really quickly.

I look up from my mate to see my brother he looks like he's about to cry which is the first for me to see, I sigh "Our Father... When he met your mother he hadn't met his mate...

He fell in love with your mother and made her his wife but when he met his mate he could no longer feel for your mother... Then one night a few days after I was born our father came into your mother's room and... made love to her.

He was angry that for 4 weeks he would not be able to love his mate, because of me... So he took it out on his now concubine, you were born nine months later... Our father killed your mother because my mother got jealous that he had, had a kid with someone else.

So he killed her and blamed it on me when I was only 7 years old. He told me if I told you the truth he would kill me.

Then a couple years later when my mother died of a sudden attack from an angel he went on a killing spree, and killed many demons.

He then altered their family's memories so if they had seen him killing their loved ones they would have seen me instead. I haven't done everything that you think I have I probably have done a few but, definitely not everything.

Because everyone thought I had done all those things I became the monster they thought I was... But when I met Ali everything changed, and I became the person I was before father blamed everything on me.

Brother I'm sorry you've hated me all those years and I know you want me to tell you how our father killed your mother but I can't. Even I who has done horrifying things, I can't tell you what our father did to her."

Cato takes a moment to process all this you stayed quiet while I was talking very quiet. "Thank you for setting me straight" he reaches out a hand and Pat's my shoulder.

"I'm sorry, but thank you for telling me I will set my men straight so they know it is not you that they should hate. I need to ask you something... Do you want the throne?"

I can't help but laugh I just told him how his mother died and how everything he knew in his life has been wrong and he's asking me about the throne.

"I don't care about the throne as long as I can be with Ali..... You and I both know I'm not suited for it, I have our father's and his fathers name and abilities but I prefer Luke instead of that blood-soaked name thats past through generations."

Cato smiles "good because if you had I would have needed to kill you, since you have first Birthright to the throne" I laugh "well it's a good thing you didn't need to, so now do you want to kill our father?"

He smiles maliciously "have you read the book of Ascension?" " I only skimmed through it" Cato laughs on response.

"Well if you had read it fully you would know that once the king of hell or queen of hell loses their mate as soon as another has been crowned they will be killed by the new king or queen, so they can join their mate in the afterlife."

"That's kind of, poetic justice. Now all you have to do is convinced our father to Crown you. Remember what he said only the one who has met their mate can become king" Cato stops and thinks for a minute "then you'll just have to renounce your right to the throne and he will have no choice"
