A fear settle in the pit of Mindy's stomach as she stares at her reflection in the mirror. Her hands automatically move to rub at her flat belly. "It can't be right?"

There was a hurried knocked on her door followed by a panicky voice calling her name drawing her out of her thoughts.

"What's wrong?" she asked. Charlie, Agatha's right hand maid had a look of horror on her face.

"Madam! She's out of control! She won't stop. Please." Her desperate voice was seeking help.

"Calm down Charlie. Are you talking about mom? What happen to her? Take me to her now."

They rush down the corridor into Nina's room immediately spotting Agatha and a couple of maids trying to hold her down on the bed as she frantically shout and push against them.

"Ahhhhhh! I hate him! I hate him!" Nina's scream ripped through the room.

"Mom what's wrong?" she runs over to the group, a maid scooting over so she can get in.

Mindy takes hold of her left hand into hers. "Mom it's me Mindy. Calm down please." She said in a soothing voice.

Nina suddenly stop tossing around and looks at Mindy.

"You. It was you he cheated on me with. You're his whore!" she shouted.

Before anyone can comprise what was going on, Nina's right hand flew and smack Mindy right in the face. A sound of shock and pain escapes her lips and the taste of metallic was upon her tongue. Before she can recover Nina shoves her hands into Mindy's hair pulling at it and thrashes her head around.

"Mom! Stop!" she feels like her scalp was being torn apart.

"Madam!" Agatha shouts trying to pry Nina's hands away from Mindy's hair. But her grip was too strong. "Charlie call Master now!" Charlie rushed out of the room to do what she was told.

"I hate you, you whore!" Uncontrollable sobs rip through her throat now.

Agatha and two other maids finally were able to untangled her hands from Mindy's hair. Loud sobs sounded as she cried. Mindy blinks her eyes a few time from the dizziness cause by her head being swung around.

"Ma'am you should leave." Agatha said to Mindy. Worried apparent on her face as she sees the busted lips and bruising on Mindy's cheek.

"No its okay I'm fine." She reassures her.

Mindy gently wraps her arms around Nina. "Shhhh. It's okay. He can't get you anymore. I'm here. I'll never let that happen again." Nina's shrill weeps worsen but her thrashing stop. She threw her arms around Mindy's waist and cried onto her chest. "Shhhh." Mindy tried to sooth her.

She couldn't help it herself as a tear escape from her eyes thinking that because of her father this woman was like this. "You're safe now."

"Mindy?..." As if coming to, Nina looks up at her daughter-in-law. Saying nothing more though, she cries until she fell asleep in her arms. Finally setting her on the bed Agatha walks Mindy out.

"What happen?"

"It appears she was having a nightmare from her nap. When she woke up she took the nightmare with her. This use to happen often before she was admitted to the hospital. She would pick a random maid and accuse her of hurtful things. How are you dear?" Agatha was worried. "Let me attend to you wounds."

"No its okay this is nothing. Stay with Madam and make sure she's okay."

She didn't want to be any more of a bother to the family. Just when she was turning to leave frantic approaching footsteps can be heard down the hall.

"What happen?" Jonah demanded an answer.

Mindy quickly shifts her head so that Jonah can't see her face.

"Madam had one of her episodes again. Must have been from a nightmare. She's okay..."

Before Agatha can finish, Jonah rushes into the room. He sees his mother laying soundly on the bed. A breath of relief escapes his lips. He goes over to her body and lays a kiss on his mother's forehead before retreating out of the room.

"Where's Mindy?" his eyes scan the now empty hall, only Agatha was left waiting outside the doors.

"She returned to the bedroom." Jonah starts walking away. "Sir, your mother left some wounds on her but she didn't back down and was able to calm your mother."

"Thanks."

Jonah enters their room to find it empty. He walks into the bathroom to see Mindy standing by the vanity looking at herself in the mirror.

"Mindy are you okay?" Jonah steps to her but she turns her body away from him.

"I'm fine." She lied.

He turns her body back towards him but she keeps her head down. He encircles one arm around her while he uses the other to lift up her chin. A look of terror sets in on his face.

"Oh my gosh." He was shocked. When Agatha said she had been hurt he didn't think to this extent. "Baby I'm so sorry."

"I said I'm fine," She tries to push her body away from him.

"Look at you, you are not okay," his voice was angry now.

Tears start to fall from her eyes making him regret his tone of voice.

"Shhh baby I didn't mean to, I'm just upset that you are hurt. I'm sorry." He gently wipes away at her tears. "I'm sorry that my mother did this to you."

"It's okay I'm not upset at her or anything."

Jonah suddenly picks up her tiny body and sets her on the vanity top evoking a yelp from her. He then takes out the first aid kit from the cabinets and starts working on her bruise face gently applying some cream onto it. She flinches a little from the touch but bit her gum to not cry out in pain. He then cleans the cut on her lip.

"I'm sorry baby." He says again tracing her lips. Leaning in, he softly plants a kiss on them.

"Jonah, I'm sorry." Tears start to swell up in her eyes again. "This is all my father's fault." She lowers her head as the water flow. "It's all his fault. You can be mad at me and punish me as you please. I won't run away. I'll take it. I deserve these bruises."

Pain tug at his heart watching his wife guilt over something that her father had nothing to do with. He didn't know what to do or say to make things all better. He was so afraid of the truth and afraid that the truth will take her away from him.

He wraps his arms around her, her head falls into his shoulder as she cries.

"Baby, I won't punish you. It's not your fault. Whatever I did to you before was from my own stupidity and I'm so sorry for that."

She lifts up her head to look at him, "But my father – "

"Stop. You are my wife now and that's all that matters. The past is the past. I'm not mad anymore."

"You are too nice to me." She whispers before burying herself onto him again. All Jonah can do was rub her back until she stopped her tears.

"Darling!" Nina gasp as she sees Mindy's face the next day. "Oh god what have I done?"

She pulls her into a tight hug and apologize nonstop.

"It's okay mom, I'm fine." she giggles a little. Her swelling had already begun to fade.

"No it's not fine. I can't believe I did that to my daughter-in-law. I'm so sorry I blackout whenever I have these episodes. Maybe I'm not ready to be out of the hospital yet."

"You're more than ready mother." Mindy tries to assure her.

They spent the morning talking about Nina's past. Mindy came to realize how evil her father truly is. She couldn't understand why he would do this to her mother and Jonah's. She wanted to hate her father but she couldn't. After all he was still her father.

She sat on the bed in her room again feeling sick. All the details of Nina and her father's past relationship was taking a toll on her. She needed something to occupy her mind and decided to go out into the garden but right when she got up all the food she ate for breakfast forces itself up to her throat. She runs to the bathroom emptying her stomach once again. Deciding against the idea of going out, she lays on the bed staring at the ceiling.

"What if I'm pregnant."

Mindy knew it was a huge possibility because all the times she and Jonah has ever made love, they didn't use protection and he always led it out into her. Plus, she wasn't on any birth control. The sound of her phone ringing brought her back to reality.

"Hello?" she answered.

"Mindy honey, you always say you will contact your father and I and you never do." Her mother's voice came on the line.

"Sorry mom I've been.... Busy." Really she had no good excuse as to why she didn't call. She just wasn't ready to tell her parents about her situation and whose family she was married to.

"Well, what's new?" Her mother asked a little to calm for her liking.

"I uh..." she debated if she wanted to just go ahead and tell her parents. It's been a little over a month and now she is possibly pregnant. She can't hide forever.

"Mom, I got married." She quietly said.

"You got married." Her mother said more as a statement than a question.

"You're not surprise?" Mindy asked confuse.

"Of course I am! Oh gosh hun can we meet today? Your father is home too. You should come over and tell him the news, I'm sure he's not going to like it over the phone."

"I don't know if I can. Can I call you back?"

"Sure honey." Her mother just hangs up on her. "Well that was odd. It's like she wasn't even surprised at all or didn't care."

Mindy dials Jonah's number hoping that he would pick up. After two rings he answers.

"Yes princess?"

"Why do you still call me that?"

"Because you are my princess." He chuckles.

Even through the phone, he sounds like heaven she thought.

"Well since I'm your princess, can I go visit my parents?"

Jonah stopped the typing he was doing on his computer at work. "Why?"

"I kinda told my mom that I got married and now she wants to meet."

Jonah sighs. The day finally came and he knew he couldn't say no to her but if anything he can delay it.

"But your face baby." He reminded her.

"Shoot I forgot about my face."

"Oh that's right. I forgot."

"Yeah your parents will probably kill me if they saw those bruises. How about after it heals then I'll let you go."

"Really? Promise!" she was excited that he actually agreed.

"Yes baby."

"Oh my gosh thank you! I love you." she was so happy to finally see her parents after such a long time that before she even knew the words she was saying it was too late.

When she finally caught herself the phone went silent. Jonah was shocked himself.

"What did you just say?"

"Uhhhhh... nothing."

"Say it again."

"Thank you bye!" she quickly hangs up the phone. Her heart was beating rapidly out of her chest.

She thrashes in bed, "What the hell did I just say?!"

Jonah smiles at the screen on his phone which was a picture of her he taken when she wasn't looking.
