《Wizards x and x Hunters》Part Two: World Collide- Nen x and x Magic

Killua was not impressed.
"Idiot." he remarked. "You expect me to buy the fact that the skill you discovered this afternoon isn't working now?"
Gon was really concentrating. "Don't be impatient Killua. I'll get it...soon."
He had his hands in front of them. Come on, he thought. Imagine a fire, imagine a fire around your hands. He tried to picture that warmth he felt that afternoon.
Still nothing.
"Well, I'm not getting any younger." Killua said. He smirked. "You better figure it out soon or else I might just get way ahead of you."
He charged up the lighting around his hands and created the lighting sphere. Feeling confident, he then created another. Then, with as much force as he could muster, he threw them.
The spheres traveled to a part of the field which Gon and Killua could no longer see.
Killua grinned. "Now THAT'S what I call improvement."
"Woah! Awesome Killua!" Gon said. But he wasn't about to let Killua have all the glory. "But it's the same lighting power you had before. Just wait until you see what I learnt! It's completely new and it will still improve my Jajaken!"
"Yeah RIGHT, show me the ability FIRST." Killua said.
"I told you, I'll figure it out." Gon said. He then remembered the fact that he had been around a fire place when his new ability had activated. "I know! I think I need to be around fire so I can visualize this power!"
He ran ahead. "I'll go ask Natsu to produce some fire that I can see!"
"As long your power actually exists, it's fine with me!" Killua said, running after Gon.
"I didn't have anything better to do" he told Erza.
Kurapika couldn't help noticing the strong energy he was picking up from Erza. He didn't even know what her Ne- magic was and he could already tell she was strong. "So what kind of ability do wizards have?"
Erza smiled. "I'm assuming from that question. you are agreeing to a small fight. So I'll show you. Heavens Wheel!"
A bright glow emitted from her body and when it went away, Kurapika couldn't believe his eyes.
A full body armour and so many swords! That level of Conjuring shouldn't have even been possible. Kurapika remembered the huge training regimen he had to go through for his chains. Magic clearly didn't have the restrictions of Nen.
"Show me what you got!" Erza said.
Kurapika sighed. He was curious about what skills wizards had and there was no way he was going to figure it out without a fight. He might as well give it a shot.

The wooden swords appeared quickly in his hands. He put one of them to his mouth and slowly started removing something.
Erza saw the two wood coverings fall to the ground and in front of her, Kurapika was now holding two full length metal swords.
"So you were hiding something. Okay, let's begin. Scattering Petals!"
All of Erza's swords quickly started heading into Kurapika's direction. He was prepared. He deflected many of them with the his swords and was able to dodge another handful. He quickly activated Ten and the remaining swords bounced harmlessly off his body.
But Erza wasn't done. Just as Kurapika began to regain his footing, she was in front of him ready to strike with another sword.
Kurapika quickly blocked her sword with one of his. Suddenly feeling a small presence behind him, he blocked the sword that was coming for him behind him with his other sword.
Both opponents were at a standstill so they both retreated.
"You're sharp" Erza said. "I'm surprised you were able to notice my secret attack."
"Don't underestimate me." Kurapika said. But his mind was racing. He was doing just fine on defense but how would he attack her? She had an entire arsenal and Kurapika could tell she definitely wasn't using her full power. How would he find an opening?
"I'm not underestimating you." Erza said. She could feel more energy coming from Kurapika. Like another ability he wasn't using. "In fact, I can tell this isn't your full capability. I'm also curious about what abilities you people have. So show me your full power."
Of course, his chains. Kurapika figured he would have to use them in this battle.
Erza watched as a series of...chains appeared on Kurapika's right hand. So she was right. This boy had more power. She was sensing a startling amount of energy coming from the chain attached to his middle finger. "Now that's more like it. Scattering petals!"
Another sword attack advanced on Kurapika. He quickly let out his Dowsing Chain and the powerful metal targeted all the swords and threw them to the ground.
Impressive, Erza thought. Granted, I was holding back on that attack, but that one chain was still able to defend very well. But why his ring finger chain? It doesn't have nearly as much power as the one on his middle finger. And what about the chains on his other fingers?
Kurapika aimed his Dowsing Chain at Erza. Erza took out more swords and tried to attack him but Kurapika was able to dodge while still aiming his Dowsing Chain at the opponent.

However, he had been dodging mostly backwards and found himself against a wall.
Erza advanced on him with her swords. Suddenly...she couldn't move. Her hands were glued to her sides. Something began to materialize.
To her shock, chains appeared that were tying her up. This boy could make his chains invisible! But...they weren't strong, she could easily break them.
In a split second Kurapika appeared in front of her with his swords in hand. So that's what he did! He looped his chains around her to distract her for a second. He used that opening to attack her.
Smart, she thought. But...not enough.
"Flight armour!" In the split second after seeing Kurapika appear in front of her, she Requipped, the action breaking the chains.
Her speed now amplified, Erza acted quickly. Before Kurapika's swords could meet her, she took out two more and struck a direct hit on him.
Kurapika immediately knew that Erza had been holding back. The swords didn't cut him. However, they still knocked the wind out of him and he was sent flying to the ground.
I almost got her, he thought. But she can Conjure more weapons and armour. How?
"That was a pretty smart move." Erza said. "Hunters are pretty smart, I have to admit. A normal person would have fallen for that attack." She put her hand out to help Kurapika up.
Hesitating, Kurapika took her hand. She had good senses, but maybe she hadn't picked up on how he was using his chains.
"But..."
Shoot, Kurapika thought.
"Why did you catch me with your ring finger chain? I could sense more power from your middle finger chain. If you had used that one, I'm pretty sure it could have delayed me for more time and your attack would have succeeded. Why are you hiding more power? And what about your other chains?"
Kurapika knew these people were trustworthy to some extent, but he wasn't about to tell anybody about the secrets of Chain Jail. It had taken him a long time to even tell Gon, Killua, and Leorio. But nobody else could know.
As for Judgement Chain, he could only use it if he was willing to take the chance of possibly killing his opponent. Which wasn't the case in this practice fight. He would also need Emperor Time for that, which definitely wasn't an option.
Of course, he wasn't going to tell Erza any of that.
"Let's just say I don't use my chains on just anybody." Kurapika said. "I'm sorry, but the power of my chains are secrets that I don't tell people. So don't bother asking."
Before leaving, he had to add one more thing. "But you're strong. I can acknowledge that. Do you not have any limits on your magic?"
Erza didn't see any harm of telling him. "Well...my Requip magic allows me to conjure any weapon or armour I have in my collection. I have a lot more than the two armours you just saw. But I'm not immune. Using this power takes magic energy. The stronger the armour, the more energy it takes up. It's the weakness of any wizards."
So kind of like Emperor Time, Kurapika thought. He smiled. "Well, thank you for this. This was helpful."
He walked back into the guild hall.
He's an interesting person, Erza thought. Those chains though... they carry an immense power. He is definitely hiding secrets... but it's up to him if he wants to share them.
Kurapika was tired. He planned to meet back with Gon, Killua, and Leorio.
"Yeah, Kurapika! Do you have a minute?"
Kurapika looked back. It was the girl from the library. Levy, he remembered her name was.
"Sure. What is it?"
Levy beckoned him to another direction of the hallway. "I have something to show you. I heard that you guys have the ability to use a little bit of magic in this world, so I thought I'd show you this one thing. See what you want to do with it."
Kurapika was hesitant but deciding he had nothing to lose, he followed Levy into the hallway.
Also, I'd just like to take this moment to say that I am not caught up with the HxH manga. From spoilers, I understand that Kurapika's Emperor Time has an affect on his lifespan. From the anime, all I know is that the Emperor Time takes away his energy and makes him tired. So when I compared his Emperor Time to a wizard's magic, I was referring to the fact that a long usage of both results in a loss of energy, not about what's revealed in the manga. That's all. K, see you next time!
