《My Brother's Best Friend》Refresher!

So no, this isn't an update. It's another one of those Author's Notes that everyone hates because it isn't an update.

This is to clear up some mass confusion from the last chapter, because there was a lot of it.

It seems as though people were confused as to why Emily expected something from Parker for Valentine's Day, so I just wanted to clear that up before we continued on with the story.

To start, we have to go back to Chapter 35, which is the morning after the party where Drunk Emily was released.

Just for a quick recap, what had happened was Drunk Emily revealed to Parker that she was still in love with him, which had stirred the pot there because she'd never told Parker that before.

So in Chapter 35, Parker reveals to Emily that he is in fact not in love with her at this point and time. He tells her that he still needs time to get over Annalise's death and to accept that it's okay to be happy with someone else.

But then Parker goes on to say this (direct quote from Chapter 35) "I want there to be an us. I just need us to take it slow."

So that's pretty much where we are now. That really awkward in-between stage where Parker & Emily are more than just friends, but there isn't really a label for it yet.

So I hope this helped clear up some confusion. And if you read this all the way to the end, congratulations because now you get the privilege of knowing that the actual update for this story will be tomorrow, Thursday October 9th.
