Aleksios P.O.V:
RING!
RING!
RING!
With a groan I sit up and I look around only to see that I feel asleep in front of Davina's grave. You fell asleep at a graveyard, great going Aleksios. But hey, at least I wasn't drunk so I get a pass. Right? The ring of my phone brings me out of my thoughts and I get it out of my back pocket - I put it there last night so that I wouldn't get any blood on it - and I pick it up without looking at the ID caller.
"Lex Mikaelson. How may I help you?" I ask the person on the other end in an annoyed tone, I like my sleep.
"Lex, it's me." I hear the voice of my eldest brother say and immediately I'm alert. "Where are you?"
"A graveyard. Don't ask." I reply. I really don't want to tell him I fell asleep at the girl I'm hopelessly in love with gravestone after I talked to her because if I didn't let out some of these feelings, I'd go insane. I kind feel bad now, I always use to laugh at Rebekah and tell her it can't be that bad but I was wrong. It hurts like a bitch.
"You need to come home." He tells me seriously and his tone a little frantic and I furrow my eyebrows.
"Why? What's wrong?" I asked him, feeling a little panic.
"I need you witch knowledge. Don't ask, I'll explain once you arrive." He tells me and I nod before realising he couldn't see me.
"Okay." I agree and I hang up. I get up, dust myself of and I speed home. Arriving home I see Marcel sending out more troops to search the city for my twin and my sister. Their eyes widen a little at my appearance and I roll my eyes at them, it's not like it's the first time I'm soaked in blood and I highly doubt it will be the last time. I see Elijah is standing next to him but neither has noticed me yet.
"Anything?" My eldest living brother asks.
"They're putting eyes and ears out everywhere. Daywalkers are working every contact we’ve got. Cops, dock workers, guys in the Treme... Word is out: anyone trying to earn favor with me gets a lifetime of it if they find them." Marcel replies and an idea comes to mind.
"Tell them they get my protection as well as favors if they find them." I say, announcing my presance. This should motivate them even more because Aleksios Mikaelson doesn't protect someone unless you're my family and I sure as hell don't give out a lifetime of favors, one or two maybe. But this is for my family and there is zero to nothing that I wouldn't do to save them. Elijah and Marcel spins to me and like the other vampires, their eyes widened as they took in my appearance.
"Sister, what did you do?" The former of the two asks me slowly and warily.
"I killed seventeen witches and left a note saying that more will follow if I don't get my twin back." I tell them with a shrug. I can see my brother wants to say something but he doesn't open his mouth, knowing that if he says the wrong thing I could blow up and there really isn't any reasoning when I'm like this. Back in Mystic Falls when I thought Evil Alaric killed my twin, I ran I killed a lot of people when I stopped. The only reason I stopped is because I got a phone call from Nik in Tyler's body, telling me something only Nik could know and I went back to Mystic Falls. Instead, Elijah just nods and turns to Marcel.

"I need a pen and paper." He tells the younger vampire and turns to me. "Go clean yourself up." He tells me and he walks away and I roll my eyes and I look at Marcel, who pauses a moment and rolls his eyes, he follows behind him and I follow the two males.
"Hey, am I taking orders from you now, or are we in this together?" Marcel asks, slightly annoyed as Elijah starts removing his jacket.
"Pen and paper, Marcellus. Now! Aleksios, got clean yourself up." My brother tells up frustratedly and I growl and glare at him.
"Don't call me that. Not yet." I tell him and a look of understanding crosses his face as he nods. I turn around and walk out of the room as Elijah and Marcel continues talking. I use my vampire speed to take a shower and get dressed again, making me walk back into the study five minutes later - letting my hair airdry. I walk inside the study to see Hayley infront of a half- naked Elijah, who has names tattooed across his shoulders, arms, back, and abdomen, exammining them. I tilt my head in confustion and Hayley speaks again.
"Sabine? Elijah, what is this?" The pregnant she wolf asks and a miniture smile crosses my face as I realise, I know what this is.
"It's a Devinette. A riddle of sorts. Solve it, it dissapears." I tell them and they turn to me, looking like two kids who got caught with their hands in the cookie jar but instead of smirking like I would have, I just ignore their looks.
"How do you know?" Hayley asks me after clearing her throat.
"My sister, along with my brother Kol, studied every witchcraft known to mankind, and even some types that has died out." Elijah tells her with a fond smile and Hayley gives me an impressed look.
"What I don't know is," I start and I point to the names. "why those names where chosen."
"I believe they represent the names of the women Celeste inhabited for the past two centuries." Elijah says and I nod at him, agreeing with him. Seems like the most plausible reason. Marcel rejoins us and hands the paper and pen to Hayley.
"It's called a Devinette. It's old school. Kind of a riddle. Witches use them to teach their kids. Solve it, and it disappears." He informs us.
"Yes, my sister already informed us, Marcel." Elijah comments with a smirk and Marcel throws his hands midway up in the air and mutters:
"Why do I bother when we've got a walking witchepedia." I give him a small smile and he returns it.
"Why? What’s the point?" Hayley inquires and I shrug, having no idea.
"Celeste forced me to make a choice between yourself and my siblings, and now she means to mock that choice, taunting me with a childish game. The longer the game, the more they suffer. To find Klaus and Rebekah, we need to solve this riddle. The solution lies somewhere in these names." Elijah says and I grow agrivated.
"If they have something to say, why don't they just say it?" I ask no one in particular. "All this does, is make me murderous." I say and I try to leave with the intention to kill some more witches but Elijah catches my arm and pulls me next to him.
"How about we put a pin in the murdering and focus on finding out what this means so we can find Niklaus and Rebekah." He tells me and I narrow my eyes at his clever manipulation. He throws Nik's name in my face to distract me from my murderous thoughts about the witches.

"The name next to Sabine... Annie La Fleur, she’s the witch that was shunned from her coven just over a year ago. Never knew why, but I can find out." Marcel says and I take a deep breath as I pull my arm from Elijah'a grip and I give Marcel a nod and we speed of.
We arrive at the neighborhood where Annie lived after she was shunned. Once there, we look around for someone who knew her from the coven. We eventually found a man who talked to us but he kept eyeing me with wariness.
"Annie was a good girl. The witches did her wrong, shunning her like that- claiming she was doing dark magic. There’s no way. But, they had proof. So, she just quit, and I can’t really blame her for that. 'Cause once you’ve been shunned, what’s the point in going on, you know?" He tells us and glances at me again and I roll my eyes.
"Oh for Pete's sake." I say with a huff and I cross my arms over my chest. We say our goodbyes and we are walking on a busy street in the French Quater when Elijah decided to make a phone call to Hayley and explained to her what happened to Annie La Fleur as I just look around the city, already knowing what he is telling her.
"How are you doing?" Marcel asks besides me suddenly and I look to him. "With Dav-" He starts saying but cuts himself of when he sees a look of pain crossing my face. "I know you care about her." He says instead.
"I'm taking it one day at a time." I say truthfully. "And I don't care for her."
"But I thought..." The younger vampire says, confusion lacing his tone.
"I mean I care about her but I don't just care for her, Marcel, I love her." I admit to someone other than myself and my twin. When Marcel doesn't say anything, I glance at him only to see him staring at me with his jaw slackend.
"Y-you love her?" He stutters out, eyes wide.
"Why do you find that so hard to believe?" I question him. "Do you think that I'm uncable of love or something?" I add on, glacing at him as I did so.
"No," He tells me. "It's just that, it took you fifty years to tell me that you love me as a brother and here you are, telling me you love Da-. sorry, her and you haven't even known her half a year yet. I'm surpised, if you want an answer."
"Yeah, I know." I say with a nod. "It, it's just something about her. She drew me in the second I layed my eyes on her. Like a moth to a flame or an addict to his drug. I guess, in a way, she was my drug. And now, slowly but surely, I have to learn how to live without her." I tell him, tilting my head at my explanation. "I don't know if you understand that."
"I do, I understand." He tells me with a smile. "You know that there is still a possiblity that she could come back right? I mean, we're going to kill those witches." He says and I nod again before saying something:
"Yeah, I know. But of all the things I could possibly experience - hoping for her return only to realise that she isn't coming back - would by far be the worst."
When Elijah was done with his phone call, we came up with a plan to abuct the records holder and threaten him into telling us where the records of the superatural beings in New Orleans is. That is how I endend up, walking along side my brother and Marcel, the latter of whom has the man in his grip.
We arrive at the Pit, where Marcel's vampires is and I kick the doors. The doors fly open and the man - whose name I really don't care about - is thrown onto the floor by Marcel. I enter first and Elijah and Marcel follow in behind me, and Marcel throws him into a chair.
"Wh-what do you want from me?" The man asks, clearly terrified. If he thinks this bad, he doesn't want to see me when I'm pissed of. I cross my arms over my chest and I put a cold glare on my face.
"Well, I assume you're familiar with this pigsty, quite appropriately known as the Pit. See, awkwardly enough, only weeks ago, a group of human beings just like yourself slaughtered many of the companions of the vampires that you see assembled before you here." He says and I let out a growl.
"Someone I care about dearly also got hurt and as a result of the mayor's actions, his body was found only days later." I say and I let my hybrid face come out and the man starts shivering from fear.
"You run the records room at City Hall. We're told the former Mayor kept a detailed record of the supernatural community. A ledger of names of witches, werewolves and vampires. Specifically, their death records. We need it." Marcel tells the man.
"I-I don't know where it is." The records holder lies to us and my anger along with my impatience grows.
"I think we both know that's a fib. Anyone feeling hungry?" Elijah asks and closes the door a little so that the sunlight coming through the doorway will allow the nightwalkers to come out.
"Oh! Okay, w-wait! They moved the records after the Mayor died. They're at the sacristy of St. Anne's Church." He says in a lame attempt to save his life and I groan audibly.
"Why does everything seem to comeback to that church?" I wonder aloud.
"See? There, wasn't so difficult, now, was it?" Elijah asks in an almost sarcastic tone and I go and stand in front of the man. I bend down and placed my hands on his shoulders.
"Your reluctance to tell us the truth caused my twin to be in pain for longer and that, in my eyes aleast, is unforgivealbe." I tell him and before anyone could stop me, I ripped out his heart. I stood up and turned around. Elijah held out his hankerchief, I accepted it and cleaned my hands. I handed it back to Elijah, who probably threw it in the nearest bin, and sped of to the church but not before saying something to the vampires:
"Bon appetite boys."

Shaman
*** Let's get this clear now: the MC is a trans woman. This is not a gender-bender. It's set in a fantasy world but the exploration of identity and gender is reality-based. Not a joke, not a kinky turn-on. If this is a problem for you, please just act like an adult and look elsewhere for something to read. *** Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 2 x 5*, 1 x 4.5*, 1 x 3*, no reasons offered. A human shaman and healer returns from several years with the mysterious shyani, accompanied by her shapeshifting puma best friend. A valued friend, from her previous identity as a male student physician, has acquired an old shyani book, and extremists will not tolerate its presence in human hands. But back in human lands, the question arises: which world does she belong in? Generations ago, human explorers found a continent inhabited by an utterly alien culture of shapeshifting weyres and the shyani, humanoids who prefer dusk and dawn. A truce of sorts was eventually reached: humans claimed the rich lowlands, and the shyani and weyres retain the highlands. Along the border, practicality often rules, but on either side, old grudges linger in some hearts. As a student physician, Corin tried to take his own life, unable to bear the countless tiny wounds inflicted over twenty-one years of lying to himself in order to be, or pretend to be, socially acceptable. At the last improbable instant, intervention came, in the form of a spirit fox, who led him away from the existence he’d known in the lowlands and into the highlands. There, a puma weyre rescued him, and a shyani shaman helped him find his true self and offered a rebirth, a life with no more lies, and an important role to fill. Now a shaman and healer in her own right, Vixen who was once Corin learns that the one human who mattered to her in her previous life, then a fellow University student, has come into possession of an old shyani book, and the more fanatical shyani and weyres will stop at nothing to reclaim it and punish Jared. Even though it means going back into the lowlands and facing Jared as a woman, she can’t bear to just look the other way. This should be a short visit, just long enough to see the book into the proper hands and make sure Jared will not be killed for having it, and then she can return to the shyani community that has accepted her as their shaman. And, of course, her feline best friend Dayr insists on coming with her. But Jared is now a Lord, with considerable wealth and power, and his response to her presence isn’t one she expected. After years living with the shyani, she sees everything around her from a new perspective, and that makes it difficult to keep to the plan of making as few waves as possible. As an honoured guest in a highborn house, with only Jared aware that she has ever been anyone else, Vixen finds herself questioning where she belongs: with Dayr and the shyani, who accept her gender without question but have to make allowances for her differences, or with humans, in the culture she grew up in even though her past would mean a major scandal? *** Trigger warning: there are scenes of Vixen's previous life, which include some difficult moments and culminate in an (obviously unsuccessful) attempt at suicide before she finds her true self and a better life. Please be careful! This is the ONLY reason for the "Traumatising Content" tag.*** Complete stand-alone novel, 96K words. Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
