《HER LOVE • davina claire》52 | MIKAELSON TRIO

"They are so cute." I hear my twin's voice say, along with the sound of a camera flashing, as I wake up, my eyes still closed, a warm body wrapped up in my protective embrace and I know it is Davina.
"Yes, Niklaus, until Aleksios wakes up and beats you with that cellphone." I hear Elijah warn him.
"Oh, shut up." Nik grumbles and I open up my eyes.
"How about you both shut up and leave." I tell them seriously, but softly so that I don't wake my love, and they comply to my request, both still in their pajamas. I sigh and roll my eyes. They are two thousand year old vampires, running a city filled with war and supernatural creatures, yet their first morning act is to take photo's of me and my sleeping girlfriend. I don't know whether I should be flattered or annoyed.
Either way, I need to get up.
And so with great effort and balance, I carefully get up. Careful that I don't wake up my Love. I shower, get dressed and leave Davina a note for when she wakes up. I place a kiss on her forehead before I head downstairs and a slight smile grows on her face.
I use my supernatural hearing to find my two brothers, knowing they are still in the house.
"Can I help you find something?" I hear Elijah ask and I speed towards his voice. I see my twin looking at our older brother with annoyance on his face, both of them dressed now in their normal attire.
"Yes, in fact, I believe you can." He starts sassily, neither of them noticing my presance. "I'm looking for a book, about yea big, filled with our mother's most powerful spells. It appears to have been misplaced."
Elijh sits down at his desk. "How very mysterious." He commented and I entered the room with a chuckle and they both looked at me.
"Brother, Twin." I greet them with a big grin, nodding my head at each of them, and they do the same.
"Why are you looking for mother's spellbook?" I questioned him with narrowed eyes.
"I need it." He tells me vaguely but honestly. However, those three words isn't much to work with. "Indeed. At first, I feared the witches had succeeded in their efforts to obtain it, but considering their last attempt ended with me relieving a rather large, tattooed gentleman of his hands, I began to wonder if the thief wasn't a bit closer to home." He notices Elijah nonchalantly scribbling in a notebook while I look at the two, ready to intervene if they go at each other's throats. "Don't make this harder than it needs to be, brother."

"Well, admittedly, I did have a theory that your sudden interest in mother's grimoire was in some way related to whatever foolishness you've been conducting with the Crescent wolves. Therefore, I took it upon myself to carefully place it where naughty little fingers could not pry." I chuckled at his last words but then his previous words really sank in.
"Wait, you made a deal with the Crescents?" I questioned him. "And you didn't tell me?" I asked again, feeling hurt that he didn't tell me or ask for my help and based on the look on his face, he knows it.
Looking down at his feet, like a boy being scolded, he mumbled, "Yes."
"Well, looks like Niklaus has hidden this from both of us." Elijah comments.
"And here I thought you, of all people, would understand. I am simply trying to help those wolves! Play Samaritan to the abused. Champion to the underdog, so to speak." Nik tells Elijah and I know that he's lying but I don't call him out on it. Knowing that if I did, Elijah would throw it in his face.
"How splendidly noble of you." Elijah tells my brother, more than likely knowing that Nik is lying. I mean, he's spent a thousand years with us yet there is still times that Elijah can't tell when our brother is lying and I can.
"Have you ever considered that, like you, I am trying to keep Hayley safe? Using our mother's magic to empower her people so they are capable of protecting her?" This time, he's telling the truth. He wants to keep Hayley and that baby safe, but there is still something he's hiding.
"He makes a good point, Elijah. And besides, if he's lying I'd know." I tell my oldest brother.
Elijah stands up and walks toward him while I go and pour myself a drink. "Yes, unless, of course, they decide to seek retribution for decades held in exile, and Hayley will find herself in the middle of an uprising. One that will only provoke further violence. You see, you risk turning New Orleans into a war zone, brother. I won't let that happen." Elijah says and I roll my eyes at him. Okay, I get the whole 'protecting Hayley thing' but he's going a little over the top.

"Oh please, New Orleans is premanantly a war zone." I imput, defending my twin before taking a gulp of my drink.
"The drums of war were beating long before we returned. I suggest you use a little less of this-" He makes a talking gesture with his hand. "-and a little more of these." He points to his ears, and smiles fakely at our brother before sitting on the couch making me snort from laughter and some of my drink go up my nose. My twin chuckles at me and I give him a glare before sitting down next to him as Elijah leaves.
"What are you hiding?" I ask him, narrowing my eyes as I turn to him and he sighs.
"I'll tell you when the time is right." He answers vaguely.
"I don't like secrets." I tell him and he nods, looking away and not meeting my eyes.
"I know. But Lexie, I'm giving you my word, everything I'm doing is to protect our family." This time, he's completely telling the truth, so I let it go. For now.
///
"Well, this was one hell of a day." I say as I plop down on the couch in the study. We really had one hell of a day. Nik and I went to help Cami with her uncle, who my twin turned into a vampire. But in the end, Father Kieran finally died due to the hex the witches placed on him. Elijah also went down to the bayou to talk the werewolves out of making a deal with my twin brother, when bombs went of and killed a bunch of werewolves. And, I haven't seen my Love since this morning. She sent me a text saying she got my letter, to have a good day, that she'll see me later and that she loves me too. So, now I'm tired, irretated, had a sucky day and I'm missing my girlfriend. Not a good combination for a hybrid.
"Indeed, it was." Elijah agrees as my twin joins us in the study.
"First Marcel's massacre, now bombs in the Bayou. I'll assume you're ready to give up this doomed treaty." Nik says and I look at my dark haired brother.
"This alliance with the wolves, well... If it is to succeed, I believe you'll want this." He hands Nik our mother's grimoire.
"Mother's grimoire." I say, stating the obvious and Elijah nods.
"Seems I have Hayley to thank for your change of heart." My twin comments, causing me to snicker. It seems that Elijah's actions has mostly to do with the pregnant werewolf. Although, I can't really say anything. I mean, I'd do anything for Davina.
Elijah pours us drinks before talking again. "The rifts in this city run far deeper than I even imagined, Niklaus. These tribes, these factions- they're families, families who choose to fight. Mayhem has descended upon our home, and if I'm to choose a side..." He hands Nik and I a drink, and holds his out to toast us. "To our victory, twins."
"You know," I start with a roll of my eyes and annoyance in my tone. "It's been a thousand years." I say, refering to the stupid nickname he gave us.
"I'm aware, Aleksios." He tells me, a streak of amusement in his tone as he exits the study, causing me to huff in exsasperation and annoyance.
***
I know it's short but I didn't really know how to write Lex into the episode and it's basically a filler. Originally I was just going to leave episode 19 out because it was basically just Father Kieran dying and the bombings in the bayou. And let's face it, Lex wouldn't go behind Klaus' back and try to change the werewolves minds. Especially when she's half- werewolf herself and knows how it feels to change.
So, I gave it a shot and this is what I came up with.
